Chapter 3 - REWIND ME - CHAPTER 3

### Natasha's POV

Leighton and I returned home after eating outside. We found Martell in the living room, alone and crying, surrounded by alcohol. The bottles were everywhere, and his eyes were dimmed. Cautiously, we tried to sneak upstairs, but Martell saw us.

"I can see you," he said. Leighton and I hesitated but approached him. We didn't want to disturb him, but he caught us.

"What's wrong? Why are you drinking alone?" Leighton asked, trying to lighten the mood. "You should have called me; I could have joined you." He laughed, not realizing Martell's serious mood. I started picking up the bottles and taking them to the kitchen.

"Reign and I broke up," Martell said, trembling. Instead of comforting his friend, Leighton laughed.

"Martell, it's just a woman. There are plenty of others out there. You'll be fine." Leighton couldn't stop laughing, and I rolled my eyes at him, signaling him to stop.

Martell slumped down, falling asleep in the living room. Leighton and I returned to our rooms.

The next morning, Martell woke us up with a big smile. It was strange to see him so cheerful after last night.

"What's with that smile, Martell?" I asked.

"I have a plan. Let's go on a vacation! I'll pay for everything if you both come," he said, looking excited.

Leighton and I exchanged glances and agreed. We both needed a break from work.

"Where are we going?" I asked, curious.

"Just search for a good vacation spot on Google," Martell said. I sighed, thinking he already had a plan. I sat at the computer, and Martell and Leighton hovered behind me, throwing out suggestions. Eventually, we settled on a beach house far away.

The next morning, we packed up and got ready to leave. Martell and I waited in his car for Leighton, who was taking forever. I went back inside to find him.

"What are you looking for?" I asked, noticing him rummaging around his room.

"Just a moment, Natasha," he said, clearly annoyed.

"Is this what you're looking for?" I held up his phone, which I found under some clothes by his bed.

"Yes, where did you find it?" he asked, relieved.

"Let's go!" I said, grabbing his heavy bag and pulling him along. We needed to hurry.

During the drive, I watched a movie on my phone while eating crackers. Leighton was asleep with his earphones in, and Martell focused on driving. After five hours, we finally arrived at the beach house. The sea was beautiful, and it was quiet since it wasn't summer.

We ordered Leighton to cook while Martell and I went outside to relax. The silence was comforting, but I needed to know what happened with Reign.

"Why did you two break up?" I asked, looking out at the sea.

"I don't know. She just said she didn't want to be with me," Martell replied, trying to hold back his emotions.

"You'll be okay. Don't be sad. I'll introduce you to other women," I said, patting his shoulder and laughing. There were plenty of fish in the sea; no need to dwell on one.

"Let's eat!" Leighton called from inside. We headed back and enjoyed the meal.

After dinner, we all drank a bit too much. Martell seemed to be setting something up, insisting that Leighton and I share a room because "the other room is under renovation." We didn't question it much, too tipsy to care.

In our room, the alcohol made us giggly and relaxed. Leighton laughed at something silly, and I couldn't help but join in. The warm buzz and the closeness of our bodies created a different kind of tension. Leighton's eyes lingered on me as I changed into my bikini, and I felt a flush rise up my neck.

"You look amazing," he murmured, stepping closer. The alcohol made his touch feel electric, and I shivered as his fingers brushed my arm.

"Thanks," I whispered, feeling drawn to him. The room was spinning slightly, but all I could focus on was the heat between us.

Our lips met softly at first, but soon the kiss deepened. We lost ourselves in the moment, forgetting about everything else. Martell's plan seemed to work, locking us in the beach house, and we couldn't deny the chemistry that had always simmered between us.

As the night went on, we explored each other's bodies, the warmth of our touch and the sound of the waves outside creating a perfect backdrop for our unexpected connection. By morning, we were entangled together, feeling a new closeness and understanding that had blossomed under the moonlit sky.

We hadn't expected to fall for each other, but Martell's plan, the alcohol, and the beautiful beach house brought us together in a way neither of us had anticipated. The vacation turned out to be more than just a getaway; it was the start of something new.
