"Uncle, I think that I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and moderately severe depression! I just found out today!"
"Really? Didn't my wife say that you may be suffering from depression?"
Deb Oh listened to the bored tone of her mother's brother, she thought that her Announcement would make him feel sympathy towards her but it ended up having the opposite effect.
"Auntie said that? When?!"
Deb Oh laughed as she asked her uncle, this was her way of covering the hurt she felt when her problem was relegated to the background.
"It was when you came to our house last Christmas even if she didn't say anything I already knew you were looking depressed! Just take a walk outside and you will be fine, in fact I feel depressed sometimes but it goes away in like an hour!"
"What is he talking about?! I feel suffocated everyday, I cry without knowing what is causing it, there are days I eat either too much or too little and have trouble sleeping! Does he think this is all a joke?! I'm in pain, why can't he understand that?!"
Deb Oh furiously vented inwardly, she could not bring herself to openly expression her dissatisfaction with her uncle's point of view. To do so was to go against her culture which demanded absolute respect for those that were considered older than her.
