Adonis struggled moving through the woods hurrying back to the capital. He still couldn't believe that one of his closest friends had actually betrayed him in the midst of battle and actually tried kill him.
After two whole weeks, due to his wolf being injured it took twice the initial time to arrive back at the capital. When Adonis entered the capital the tense atmosphere amongst the people was prevalent, all around him the people were shuffling their feet and hurrying to get gone was the once bright and cheerful capital. He sighed seeing such a thing and quickly headed into the palace, the palace guards quickly arrived when they saw him and delivered the news, " your father, the king demands your presence."
He knew he had gone against his father's wishes when he charged to the border with little more than 100 men, even worse he was the only one to return. His steps as he headed to the throne were the heaviest he had ever taken, the weight of each death weighed on him especially those of his close friends who stood by him.
He finally arrived at the throne room, the scene that greeted him was one he had seen countless times but the atmosphere was different from what he was used to. His father sat upon his throne clad in his battle armor, I stared for a while before speaking up "...father.." "don't. you. dare call me father! I told you not to head to the north....I warned you not to battle the invaders, but what did you do..." ".. I...I..I " " you led a Legion straight to the border because to you my words carry no weight " "no father..." " SILENCE! you do NOT SPEAK! " the king slammed his spear as he spoke.
"Not only did you lead a Legion to battle you lost everyone of your men, you lost great men whose strength would have made our nation greater but due to your stupidity and utter disregard for my words they have loss their lives. Now tell me, how do you want me to tell their wives and children that they will not be coming home. ANSWER ME!" he shouted but Adonis did not answer, he could not answer for his father was right, it was his fault that those men had lost their lives.
The king stood up and walked down from his throne, each step thundered through the throne room until he was face to face with Adonis and then he did something no one expected.... He held onto his armor and then with pure brute strength ripped it off Adonis the resulting force sending Adonis tumbling to the ground " you are a disgrace to the throne!" he moved and kicked Adonis sending him rolling and causing some of his remaining armor to come off " you are unworthy! ". He picked up Adonis by the neck and ripped his sword of of him " you do not deserve to be a prince of this Kingdom! " at that he threw him again and then moved and ripped of his cloak " from today onwards you are no longer crown prince of Greylan!" his words ringing through the ears of all present and causing an unprecedented amount of shock.
Holding the barely conscious prince against the ceiling to ground window," I king Horwich the fifth hearby enact the labour's on Adonis and banish you from this family not to return until you have completed this labours, so mote it be." and with that unleashed a mighty kick which sent Adonis through the window and into the river below.
Every remained rooted, still shocked at what they had just witnessed, " leave." at that everyone came to their senses and left the throne room. Arwin was of course the happiest of them all he had finally managed to get rid of the dufus though he didn't die but he was banished and he would make sur before Adonis returned he would be king.
"I know your responsible." a voice came from behind him stunning him for a bit, turning he saw his sister Maria " I have no idea what you mean sister" Arwin spoke with a smile showing his confusion. " Save your lies Arwin no one is here besides us. You might have everyone else fooled but I know you for the snake you truly are." Arwin kept his innocent look as he asked " you must be mistaken sister." " save it, I know you had Erïk killed and tried to do the same to Adonis but you failed. " Adonis loss his innocent look and wore a sinister smirk " well well well you truly are a smart young lady, I'm truly luck you were born female or else you would truly be a terrifying player." " " yes don't you think politics is truly a game, all empires are playing this game trying to rule the continent and the remaining kingdoms trying their best to survive it's all a game a truly interesting one where you either win or you die." " don't think you've won just yet you still aren't king." " and who is going to stop me? you? please, you know Duke Reginald is looking for a spouse for his beloved son and it just happens you are of marriageable age" " you wouldn't dare."
" bye bye sister." Arwin spoke up as he wore his mask once more and left for his chambers. Maria stood watching his back when her personal knight appeared from the shadows "what do we do now mistress?"
