Amaya's perspective.
I watched from behind a pillar made of stone, while the battle took place in front of my eyes. Well, I'm not sure if you could really call it "watching", my eyes were barely able to keep up with their movements. To me, it looked like lots of blurs and sparks flying.
This was a part of my plan, to watch from the sidelines. It sounds dumb, but hear me out.
With my [Analyze] skill, I'll be finding both enemies weaknesses. If it comes down to it, I have a new and special ability. In an easy explanation, Ace and Dashiel are the bait, until I feel ready to fight. So, I stood watching them from a distance.
Previously when I was almost forced into joining the Dark Mages, I remember getting a message in my view.
[You have met the requirements to become a Disciple of Darkness]
I didn't know what it meant, but one thing was certain, in that moment I could feel an ability awaken inside of me.
That was when more messages came into view.
[Do You Accept Your Position As A Disciple Of Darkness?]
[Yes or No]
[Perks of Accepting: 1. You will be given your very own servant to serve under you.
2. You will gain another ability, being unique to your personal traits.]
Anything with the word 'Darkness' couldn't be good. Still, I could sense that this would benefit me.
So, I accepted.
[Congratulations!!!]
[You Are Now A Disciple of Darkness]
I felt another ability awaken within me. This is why I became certain about creating this plan.
Now, I stood watching Dashiel and Ace fight against the enemies with everything they had to offer.
I observed the red-haired enemy 'Aika'
It was scary to watch her eyes become more psychotic as the seconds passed.
It didn't take long for me to learn the workings of her skills and her weapons.
Then, I did the same thing to the other enemy 'Isla.'
I learned the workings of all of her skills as well.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Dasheil became overwhelmed and was knocked back, barely keeping his balance. But his enemy didn't give him any time for recovery. Aika kept slashing as Dasheil tried to block every attack.
The edge of the opponent's blade was about to obliterate his face, but there was no way I was going to let that happen.
'Here goes nothing.'
I stepped out from the pillar and let my first ability activate.
When I sprinted towards the battleground, time around me completely froze. I was the only thing that was still able to move.
I closed my hand tightly. The instant I came close to Aika, I swung one great punch into her side.
Bam!
Time unfroze and the impact from my attack set it, Aika's body shot across the area, smashing into a wall.
Smash!
She was knocked out cold. I was so excited at my power but, I quickly realized someone was surprised by my power.
Dashiell Was staring at me with the look of utter surpise, I could tell he couldn't think of what to say.
"How did you move that fast?" He asked.
I grabbed his hand and pulled him back on balance.
"It's a secret. Please don't tell anybody about this."
My back warmed up from a scorthcing ball of fire about to hit me. I honestly didn't expect to react so fast, but my body spun around. My hand deflected it at the ceiling.
Boom!
I gave a confident smile to the one who casted it. Isla tilted her head, she was expecting her magic spell to land. She was probably surprised how it didn't.
Her mouth started rambling to me about my actions.
"King Silas offered you a place in our organization, and here you are, fighting against us. I'll be sure he knows. Until then, take care."
Her body started to glow greater than any source of light. Me and everyone else became blinded, until the light faded. Isla was gone without a trace. The only thing left behind were the many bodies of Dark Mages that Ace had previous slain, along with the unconscious Aika.
Ace and Dashiel's posture became relaxed and their muscles softened. The battle was won.
"I guess we could relax now, huh." I said.
Dasheil looked at the ground, but not with a happy expression. He shook his head.
"There's still many battles taking place across the forest as we speak. Knight's are dealing with numbers of dark mages, as well as the countless spirits."
I was fast to offer my help.
"Then let me help."
I saw it on Dasheils' face, he did think about declining my offer. But he gave in, he knowing that I could hold my own now.
"Okay. First, we should regroup at the camp. Also, someone has to take that red-haired dark mage to a cell before she wakes up."
Ace stepped forward, walking in the direction of the unconscious Aika.
"Allow me. I'll make sure to get her to a cell fast. The two of you can head back to the camp right away. Don't worry about me."
Worrying about someone like Ace wasn't likely to be on my mind, unless some other amazing opponents show up.
With everything in this specific area settled, me and Dasheil made our way back towards the camp. Though, a few dark mages did try to ambush us along the way. In the end, we effortlessly fought our way through.
We arrived at the entrance and witnessed the camp scattering from disaster.
Knight's and dark mages were battling to the death, swords roughly slashed around as magic blasted across the air. Dashiel acted quickly and used his scythe to cut four mages down with one swing.
Slash!
I also made my way sprinting into the camp. A mage tried to sneak from behind, but I noticed and struck them down with a palm-strike to their heart.
More rushed at me and swung their axes and daggers, I jumped away and casted a single ball of fire, blasting them to bits.
Boom!
From the battle, swinging swords and magic explosions were hurting my ears. It was hard to think clearly in the face of a scene such as this. It was the first time I was involved in something of this scale, on human battles that is.
I made notice of Jean over at the other side of the camp. She was fighting with great effort but was still as powerful as ever, even with her wounds. Her sword removed the head of every Dark Mage that came near her.
Even I could tell it is only a matter of time before she collapsed due to her previous injuries. She wasn't in any condition to last long while fighting tirelessly.
I my legs moved as fast as they could, bringing me in her direction so i could assist he, but a hard ball of ice shattered against my back and shoved me to the floor.
I was used to pain at this point, so I jumped to my feet within the same second. I spotted the enemy responsible, a blue haired man, wearing the same white mask as the other mages. Hovering by his sides were many shards of ice, ready to be launched.
"You're the Amaya girl, that Dark King Silas was kind enough to offer you a spot in our cause. You betrayed his wishes, so it's up to me to bring judgment down on you!"
Each of the ice shards flew at me, faster than I could move away from, so I forced time to stop.
The shards luckily stopped inches away from hitting my face. I took a powerful jump into the air, stomping down on the Mages skull when time started moving again.
Stomp!
His head popped underneath the force, I wish I didn't have to cause gore.
That Ice Mage must've been an important member because once his blood painted the floor, every enemy gasped.
Each and every dark mage around lunged at me.
This was the moment I was waiting for, the moment I could prove to myself that I was still strong. It wasn't until now that I realized how much I outclassed most enemies even without my insane stats
I whispered, activating [Double Speed]
My any stiffness in my joints was loosened and my moments increase.
In the span of four whole seconds, I did everything from punches, kicks and throws, killing everyone who charged at me.
I sent a palm-strike through the wind, tearing a mages chest apart.
Smash!
My body took a leap into the air and I spun into a kick.
Just like a sharp blade, my ankle cut through a series of heads .
Slash! Slash! Slash! Slash! Slash!
I took a chance to dash off and hide behind a tent. This was the chance I was taking to catch my breath.
Huff! Huff! Huff!
This was perfect.
'I'm getting strong again.'
The lungs in my chest had finally caught their breath, I was about ready to head back into battle. But then A slow pair of footsteps caught me off guard.
I turned my head quickly. There, it was a young guy I felt like I've seen before. He had yellow pupils and a car underneath his eye. His hair was grey despite not even seeming old at all. The ookon this guys face showed that he didn't like me.
I wondered, 'Where have I seen him before?'
Luckily, I didn't have to ask "Have we met." as the guy spoke.
"I come looking for Ace and find you instead. Your Amaya. right? I should pay you back for almost killing me."
I then remembered who he was. It was the same guy who murdered that person back in the kingdom of Therngo.
But, why was he looking for Ace Skyman? To assassinate him, maybe?
I wasn't too worried about it, Ace was the stronger person I've met in this world.
The guy with yellow eyes stepped up and drew a katana from his waist.
"I want you to know the name of the person who's going to put you down. I am Kono Deth, the strongest assassin."
My mind wasn't convinced if his strength, it seemed more like a big lie. Still, that didn't mean I should underestimate him. In my currency power, he could probably put up a good fight. After all, he landed a strong stun spell in our last encounter.
I summoned my dagger into my hand a replied, "I'd rather focus on the dark mages that are everywhere, but I get the feeling you won't let me do that."
"That's right. I need someone to test my new power on. And who's better to test it on than a Legendary-ranker."
My ears fully-understood, this guy's intentions were to kill me. I wasn't worried, I knew I had the right skills to beat him…..Well...At least I hoped so.
