Next day…. Katsu slowly opened his eyes as he was confused.
"Huh? Where…. am I?"
He couldn't remember how he got there and his memory was all fuzzy.
"Why is my body in pain?"
He slowly sat up on the edge of the bed. Katsu saw his trench coat on a chair by the other side of the room. He stood up and grabbed his boots which were by his bed. He began to slowly put on his boots as he was in pain.
"Dang… my back hurts."
Katsu then walked over to the chair and grabbed his trenchcoat. As he put his coat on, he thought to himself
"My body hurts. Did I fight someone yesterday or something?"
His eyes widened as if remembering a long lost memory.
"Wait… that's right! I was injured by that demon then a girl came out of nowhere and it got distracted. I can't remember anything that happened after that."
He turned around and walked over to the door.
Katsu turned the handle then pulled the door open.
"Time To get out of here."
When he walked out of the Inn, he looked up at the sky.
"I'm kinda hungry, I should get something to eat."
He then continued walking, eventually reaching a food stand.
"I'll take a stick of lizard meat."
Once the food was done, the man that worked at the stand handed it to Katsu. He placed four copper on the counter and walked off.
While he was walking, he took a giant bite out of the lizard meat.
"This should help recover some of my health."
A voice came from behind.
"Oh. So, you're doing better?"
Katsu turned around and saw who it was. It was the girl who distracted the demon the other day. (Amaya)
Standing next to her was a little girl with fox ears. (Emi)
Katsu then replied.
"Yeah, I'm doing alot better." even though he knew he wasn't.
Amaya then began talking.
"We didn't get a chance to exchange names because you ended up passing out. My name is Amaya, and this little girl next to me is Emi."
"My name is Katsu, nice to meet you."
Amaya scratched the back of her head."Ha ha..Nice to meet you too, I guess."
Katsu put his hand on the side of his chin and popped his neck.
After he was done, he smiled.
"Just so you know, I could've beat that demon even if you didn't distract him, but thanks for helping anyway."
Two seconds of silence went by.
"He's definitely lying," Amaya thought to herself.
"I definitely just lied." Katsu thought to himself.
At that moment, two guys started walking by, talking to each other.
"Did you hear about that dungeon?"
"Yeah, It's supposed to only be an easy level dungeon but people keep getting really injured there."
I know, stuff is crazy."
As the men passed, Katsu looked at Amaya.
"Did you hear those guys talking about a dungeon? We should go check it out."
Amaya had an unsure look on her face.
"Are you sure? I mean, you got pretty injured just the other day."
"It'll be alright." Katsu replied.
He turned around and ran up to the men that were talking about the dungeon.
"Hey, I overheard your conversation about the dungeon. Mind telling me where it's located?" Katsu asked.
"Sure, I'll tell ya.", one of the men replied.
After getting directions, Katsu walked back to Amaya and said
"Alright, I got the directions, you ready?"
Amaya looked confused.
"Wait.. right now?"
"Yes, right now." Katsu replied.
"Well, I do need to get stronger and level up." Amaya thought to herself.
She looked to her side, at Emi.
"Okay, but I'll have to let Emi stay at the Inn because I don't think she's ready for a dungeon yet."
Emi yawned.
"I was feeling pretty tired so I'll probably go to sleep. You can go ahead and leave , I know how to get to he Inn."
"You sure?" Amaya asked.
Emi smiled.
"Yeah."
She then walked off.
"Okay, let's go." said Katsu.
Amaya then turned around.
"Alright."
They began walking towards the forest.
They had now been in the forest for around thirty minutes.
Amaya began dragging her feet as she was getting bored.
"Are you sure we're not lost?"
"Yeah, we are going the right way." Katsu replied.
Amaya's face was filled with boredom when suddenly, she noticed abig set of doors.
"Is that the dungeon entrance?" asked Amaya.
"Yep, that's it. Seems like it'll be a pretty large dungeon."
Katsu bent over and grabbed a large stick of the ground and used fire magic to light it. They both walked over to the cave and went in.
"We should talk about what kind of skills we have." Amaya suggested.
"Nah, I don't feel like it."
"Then what about our stats?" Amaya asked.
Kastu let out a sigh.
"Yeah, I guess we can talk about that, but you tell me your stats first."
"Okay. I am level five, my health is one-hundred-sixty-nine, attack is seventy five, mana points is eighty, speed is twenty three, endurance is twenty,"
Katsu laughed.
"Wow, looks like you still have a long way to go if you want to pass my stats."
Amaya looked kinda unhappy.
"Oh yeah, what are your stats?"
"Not gonna tell." Katsu replied.
"Fine then."
"I can always just use my analyze skill." Amaya thought to herself.
They both stopped walking. Up ahead was a large group of humanoid shadow creatures.
(Shadow:Hp: 250)
Amaya was surprised.
"Wait a minute! I've fought those kinds of creatures before. Be careful, they rapidly slash at you. Wait, how many are there anyway?"
Amaya then began counting each shadow creature.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen... Dang, that's a lot!"
"Don't worry, this hallway is really huge so we have enough room to keep space between us and them." Katsu replied.
He stood still while Amaya walked over to the other side of the large hallway. Ten of the creature's ran at Katsu, while six of them ran at Amaya.
Katsu smiled.
"Sword, appear!"
A bright blue light shone from his right hand. As the light faded away, it was clear he was now holding his sword.
As the shadow creatures got closer, he squinted.
"Flying slash."
He jumped towards the creatures at an amazing speed and sliced at them.
From that one slice, he had easily killed four of them.
As the creatures got closer and closer to Amaya. She then shouted.
"Dash."
At a fast speed, she moved at the creatures and went behind them.
With her right hand she pulled out her dagger, with her left, she pulled out the dagger she had originally got for Emi.
One slice, then another. She rapidly slashed at the crowd of six.
She ran out of breath and stopped. She had killed three of them but now, she was vulnerable to others attacks . Two of the creatures ran and began a barrage of slashes."
As they had not hit yet, Amaya thought to herself.
"I'm out of breath so I can't keep up and dodge!"
As the slashed came, Amaya was trying her hardest to keep up but that wasn't enough.
It was painful, they had sliced Amaya a total of three times. Once on her left arm and twice on her torso. (Amaya: Hp: 94/169).
"Dash!"
She was quickly behind the two that attacked her. Amaya stabbed the daggers into one of the shadows chests. She then quickly turned and swung a kick, hitting the other one in the throat. The creature was knocked on its back. Another one came from behind and began slashing at Amaya. Left, right, up, down, Amaya dodged each and every one of It's attacks. She then grabbed the creature's head and slammed her forehead into its face.[Exp gained] Amaya looked and noticed the she had made its face cave in.
"I guess I have a hard head."
Amaya turned back around and saw that the creature she had knocked down was getting up. She slowly walked over.
Once it was fully up, Amaya tightened her right fist and swung it at the creature. [Exp gained]
She was breathing heavily. After five seconds or so, she caught her breath. She walked over to the creature which had both of her daggers stuck in it. She kneeled down then yanked them out.Amaya stood back up and looked at katsu..He, who was leaning against a wall, relaxing. He then noticed Amaya was looking at him.
"Nice work."
"How long have you just been chillin there?" Amaya asked.
"I finished fighting pretty quickly. So I've been watching you since you got sliced those three times." Katsu replied.
Amaya then noticed she had leveled up.
She quickly opened up the menu and opened her stats.
(Level:7 Hp:220 Mp:135 Atk:105 Speed:26 Endurance: 27)
"It's a good feeling when you get new stats." Amaya thought to herself.
Katsu threw a glass bottle full of green liquid over to Amaya.
She caught, tore the cork off and chugged it.
(Amaya: Hp: 220/220)
"So, are you ready to keep going?",Katsu asked.
"Yeah, let's go."
They began walking further down the giant hallway.
After walking for some time, they began to get suspicious because they haven't ran into any monsters besides the shadow creatures.
They both stopped walking.
Up Ahead were two giant doors with spikes around the edges tha were a rusty gold color.
Amaya stared at the two giant doors.
"Dang….I have never seen any doors that big."
