Chapter 25 - The familiar dream_ 25

Lu Jinyu sat at the balcony looking at the vast bright twinkling stars, which blinked back at him. But then a sharp pain hit him abruptly as he stumbled folding in pain as he clenched his head, like a loud ringing sound ringing all throughout his brain. Deafening and screeching into the depths of his mind. He clutched the balcony desperately for some support as it only seemed to get worse.

The loud ringing sort of screech-ish sound only seemed to get louder, as he let a deep breath and loosened his grip on the balcony to calm the abrupt shock of the pain vibrating through his brain to his body.

Only when he realised that the sound that was terrorising his mind and putting him in a state of agony, was not just any sound as a sudden voice came into his head like a speaker in his brain.

"Lu Jinyu you probably don't know who I am but I know who you are... and I-... need your help urgently." A woman with a deep troubled voice spoke in what seemed to be a rush.

Lu Jinyu was confused speaking in his head which she somehow managed to get inside, or get connected to. As he interrogated her,

"First, how the hell did you get inside my head and why did it hurt so much-"

The woman cut him off sharply,

"Introductions later, that was just a trans-at tel(transportation telepathy through the mind) call which can help you connect to someone's head from wherever you are. But to get to the point I need your help.

It's serious and it concerns THE girl. Irene."

Lu Jinyu's face all of a sudden hardened and his expression became serious as he intently listened to what the woman had to say.

I just couldn't stop thinking about the drawing, the dream. I mean it was just a dream even though I never dream... ever. The furthest I can remember from when I last dreamed is from when I was young as 5. I have never had a single dream after that until now, so it was strange enough to have one now especially when very few people in the whole of Exylus have dreams. I've known only one person to have dreams, which was my grandma, I felt a sadness sweep over thinking about and her cheerful grin and eyes that that bent downwards in a smile..

I didn't want to think about her not now.

I went back to looking at the hideously drawn picture I created it looked messy but somehow it all made sense. I suddenly had a thought to go to Lu Jinyu, I bounced off my floating bed and through the door to my brother's room who groaned as soon as I opened the door.

"Hey Jules where's Lu?" I asked Jullian who was immersed in the Vr game he was playing.

"Balcony. Now go away I'm playing."

He said still looking goofy fighting air with his Vr headset and body suit on.

I dashed to the balcony where I saw Lu Jinyu with a serious expression. The moonlight highlighted the sharp intricate features of his face, and his flaky snow white hair bouncing on his head in soft wavy curls.

I couldn't help it. Every time. When I saw him I couldn't help analysing his beautiful features. I mean even though I was definitely never one to be interested in boys ever, it was rather the opposite. I thought finding someone extremely attractive, falling in love over a short period of time was ridiculous and just weird. My logic was simple we are all the same and that everyone was fine and pretty and that relationships are created over time. I was a very lukewarm person looking back. Can't say the same for how I am now, it's weird but I find him more than extremely attractive something about him just draws me to him, his aura, his personality. Sometimes I don't even know what it is... It's weird, strange, new and yet a fresh excitable feeling.

I don't hate it, but it just means he's higher on the likeability list that's it. Nothing more.

While I was on rambling to myself while standing like some stalker looking at him, he turned around abruptly noticing me,

"Oh Irene... uh..what are you doing here but either way I need to talk to you-"

"WAIT! I need to show you-no I need you to do something for me. Please, follow me then after you can tell me what you need to say."

I told him dragging to my room before he even tried to utter a response.

"So well, um... what do you need me to do for you?" He asked curiously yet looking slightly uninterested.

I pointed my finger to the hideous art I created.

"That..you want me to redraw it for you.." He asked reluctantly.

I nodded aggressively flashing him the most sincere and sickeningly sweet smile I could muster, it must've worked brilliantly because after that he chuckled and got to working on it straight away.

I wondered why he chuckled thinking nervously did I look silly, or funny...or was I just too pretty, I thought grinning to myself in confidence.

some time later..

"WOW...

bro that's crazy good you could become a professional artist because that's crazy good. Irene needs to pay you for this stuff you can't be doing this for free." Julian asked interested, looking at the magnificent piece of art Lu Jinyu had created over a couple of hours.

"Julian ShuFup... WOWww TIS IZ AMAGING IZ ZO GUD" I said with a mouth stuffed with food.

On the table was a beautiful picturesque landscape set with intricately drawn vividly outlined planets. Gentle white milky dotted stars adoring the ebony black background with the round colourful planets popping from every corner of my eye.

It looked like a whole galaxy and for some reason it felt all to familiar too me. Too familiar to not be real, but when had I ever beem in space. Wait... There's no way. The thing Miss Dilica was talking about that star that travelled through space to settle. That is me. I felt a horrid sickening feeling at the pit of my stomach. I was not Exylian...I was not from this planet.

"Irene..can I talk to you now." Lu Jinyu requested turning to me interrupting my unfiltered thoughts

"...uh..yea. Sure lets go." As I sat down on the chair at the balcony.

Lu Jinyu was staring at me seriously with a hardened expression which made feel light and fluttery inside for some reason and yet a bit uneasy.

"Irene I need to tell you something really important that can change the course of your whole life.

And.... I... I really don't know what I can say to comfort you but, Irene as you know yourself...

your not from Exylus... you've always been different and you know that right.. from what Naria Dilica told you. Your from somewhere...

very far away.

Just like... me," Lu Jinyu said looking out at the stars I looked at the stars too, speechless not a single thought floating through my mind. But this was me getting closer to finding out who I truly was and yet all I felt was just.

A big.

Blank.

Empty space.

A void.

A hole, full of unfulfilled questions.

I looked back at Lu Jinyu and he looked back, at me , while a tear silently ran down my face.
