Chapter 8 - Six Years Later

In a detached building in the far corner of Euphilia palace, somewhere in the second floor. In the only room that had light sprinkling in from an opened window.

The room was about eight square meters, and had a Victorian style decorations. Set in beige and baby blue tones on the walls. With blue and purple gold study and recliner. There was a library that lined the entire south wall of the room, and a French style open window lining the east wall, leading into a spacious balcony. There was a king sized bed set in the middle of the room, with white semi transperant drapes lined with gold, and baby blue mattress. The room gave off a very calming yet extravagant feel.

There was a little cute silver haired child, sleeping curled on the bed. If only you could look at this lovely image, your heart will be stolen every time.

And that has become a sort of routine every morning to dear Mary. She stays 3 steps away gazing foolishly and grinning to her self, mumbling about her luck to be assigned here.

Until the uncomfortable feeling of being watched wakes the sleeping prince. Trying to sit up and touching his eyes with other hand, with the waist length silver hair draped haphazardly on the bed and his shoulders, "Mary, are we doing this every morning?".

Even hoarse from sleep, the voice was as soft as a feather, but it carried a cold undertone as well.

Mary was flustered, she started shaking her head "N... N.. Nno master, I just need sometime to get used to master's beauty. I can't believe I was so lucky to be serving Master", with flushed cheeks and smiling eyes she replied.

Mary was a cute looking beauty, about sixteen of age. She had lovely pink wavy hair and golden colored eyes. She was clumsy, and always gave the feeling that she would vanish if she wasn't attended to.

The prince heaved a sigh, still with eyes closed, asked Mary to prepare for morning abulations. While Mary was busying around, the prince had a sarcastic smile on his face. Wondering if Mary was truly stupid enough to think that being sent here was a reward. It's a punishment given to those unworthy or clumsy. Or those that the higher ups don't want to see, but still can't touch, in the end they all get thrown here. Mixed with a punch of others, stuffed there for different gains.

A knock soon came from the door. A voice sounded:"Its me, Master" .

A short hum signified permission . The door opened and a strict looking woman, probably in late twenties, came in. She had light green hair made into a bun, and brown eyes. A small face, and a slim body, wearing a maid outfit.

She had a regal air around her, but that softened quite a bit once she laid her eyes on the princess. "Morning master, how do you feel?".

The prince smiled a little, lighting up his features. "fine, see Mary. She's spirited again", said the prince.

Hearing that, Ann's face crumpled a little, with a sigh she went to search for the Mary.

Once Ann was out, I took a look outside the window. Since the first time I opened my eyes, I have been in love with this world. The white small shiny lights permeating the air, the little children in different colors, spouting wings and flying all around. The sound of laughter and whispers of trees, the breath of grass and the melody of living. All those makes this world a fascinating place.

A little red eyed, red haired spirit, Ron, came and satated pulling my hair :[ sleepy head, wakey wakey. It's another day to play]. A blue eyed, blue haired spirit, Marine, started fighting with him for rights to tangle up may head. What happens later, is nothing they want to think about .

Suddenly, a black clothed man came from the open terrace window, brandishing a short dagger, he casted a silencing and haste spells. Then sled to my bed, lifting his arm and going for the kill. He seemed to not see my as any danger. Should I commend him? For only a few has ever made it this far?. Or should I pity him? , for his fate would be worst than them all.

He then changed the direction of the knife, toward his own heart. In a matter of seconds he was a lifeless corpse laying on the ground.

It was a forgone conclusion the moment he came inside. And to top it all, he looked into my eyes. How pitiful, did no one tell him anything before changing here?.

I took a vial from the drawer next to the bed, slowly getting down, I moved next to his corpse. Sorry stranger, I wish you a lovely journey on the other side. I spilled two drops on his body, then soon it disintegrated into light particles and nothing was left to tell what happened just now.

This is the fifteenth one this month. Did they start to get anxious?. Assassins are a common guest in my mansion. You could say, they were the only guests. Usually they stop by every three to four days, but recently, they stop by twice a day at least. I even heard that the request for my head is more popular than my own father, that's a record. The mission was scored as an S class for a year now. I finally thought I'd have some serenity, but some idiot went and put THREE MILLIONS as a bounty for my head. That's a record too, my father only has two millions on his, that's a strange thing to be proud of, but beggars can't be choosers.

Now if one thinks logically, why would anyone spend that much money on a nameless offspring if the Emperor, that's not even running for the throne. A one that was discarded as early as one year old, to top. And a one that's forgotten even in the annual allowance distribution as a cherry on the cake.

I stopped trying to comprehend mentally-challenged people at the age of three, I felt I was decreasing my IQ.

But what set them off, to even send an A class assassin as an aide, is beyond my understanding.

Patting the two still nestling in my hair, I made my way to the bath. I can't be late, or else Nathan would explode.
