Rhythm flew over from Arjun 's shoulder and ascended forward.
" Hey Rhythm, wait for me."
Arjun followed Rhythm, he carefully hid behind the second building. Rhythm went further but when he found that Arjun was not there behind him so he came back to Arjun. Ritvik also reached him.
The fourth building can be clearly seen from the place where they had been hiding. It was appropriately lit with limited lights on the corridors. Two Guards could be seen from the place. One of the Guard was sleepy on his chair but the other one was actively guarding the building.
Arjun and Ritvik placed their bicycles by the side of the second building and carefully crossed their path and hid behind one of the pillars of the office building.
" My bag"
Arjun asked for his bag showing him his anger. Ritvik gave him his bag, giggling inside on his response.
There were many pillars in the bottomost floor and just a small room where the keys of different floors were kept. There was a table and chair where one Guard would be there. He registers the entry of all the visitors. There was a staircase and two lifts.
Arjun pulled out a few marbles and his slingshot. He aimed his slingshot at the back window of the room.
The sudden sound alerted the guard and he followed to look for the source. It was their luck that the door of the small room was open and Ritvik had previously visited the room so he had little bit of idea where they could find the key.
They sneaked into the room. Ritvik checked the drawers and fortunately he found the key just in time. Arjun again fired the next marble on the other side of the building. This made Guard even more alert but his diverted attention gave them time to go towards the staircase . Guard felt something went past him but he couldn't find anything in particular. Arjun and Ritvik were hiding towards the staircase; they heard the closing sound of the small room. Their dark dress helped them pass without suspicion.
They both heaved the sigh of relief. With the small silent steps they carefully climbed the stairs. The central office was on the 12 th floor. It took them some time to climb up the floor. This felt very tiring and a long climb for them.
They slowly opened the door and as the lock opened they hid again to check if they had not alerted anyone.
Now they were both into the office. Ritvik closed the door past him slowly as they entered. The power supply was off and it was very dimly lit by the lights in the corridors . Though there was a machine at the reception area that required the entry card to check in and out.
Ritvik hadn't thought about it before so he was startled. But Arjun draws out his uncle's entry card from his bag's pocket. Fortunately he had picked it up when he had delivered them their food.
Ritvik didn't know what to think. He felt fortunate and a little bit angry at him for picking things up without permission but he can understand him for now.
Thus they were now there where they needed to be.
" So what's next?,What should we do for our next step?"
Ritvik asked him.
"Searching for files."
" huh what do you say again?"
" Exactly what you heard. Think about the reason for someone to steal the files. "
" Umm I don't know about it. But I do know that none of us is familiar with what those files were about . We don't even know what they looked like. "
Ritvik told him worry was all over his face.
" Yes I agree, but I do have an answer to it. "
Arjun told him with assurance in his voice. He continued…
"Think about it, there could be only two reasons either they want it for something or they want to hide it for some reason."
"This something or some reason is linked to Uncle's case ."
Arjun thought..
' If these files are clues to them then it could be a clue to us as well .'
" Okay then officer Arjun tell me how we are going to find the files."
Arjun felt great hearing his words.
"Let's also give the person a code name whom we are trying to find."
Ritvik rolled his eyes. He doesn't mean that. He wanted to say that but he thought if Arjun would listen him. Of Course not. He thought in his mind.
He was right too.
" How about Mr. X?"
"Suits him right, mysterious and dangerous Mr. X." Arjun giggled on hearing himself.
" Get back to work,Arjun."
Ritvik said. Arjun was looking for his annoyed expression and he succeeded in bringing it up.
" Okay officer Ritvik we would be looking for two kinds of files. "
"One which was placed in the way that it won't get into other's hands easily."
" Second files which are misplaced. Like an engineering file in the management section or management files in the engineering section."
" This makes sense, " Ritvik said.
He took out his torch and he was about to proceed to began the searching when he realized
" I guess this is the possibility for the case if those files were stolen to hide them. "
"Yess"
" Then what about the possibility where they were stolen because they were needed by Mr. X."
" In that case he should come today to get them."
" How can you say that?"
" If the files were slowly evacuated that means it could have alerted the others. Even if they didn't report it doesn't mean they would have not tried to search. In that case now when the suspicion is shifted to one person he must come today to take them. "
" Why would someone be suspicious of their own Chief engineer? All he needs to do is to ask his people to bring that file to him. "
" Only from his department Ritvik he can't do that to another Department and again this way would ensure a legal record of those files. "
" Then "
" lets search for the files but be cautious in case you hear any sound. "
" Okay "
There were many cubicles all around them according to different departments' divisions. There were few Cabinets that were locked. There was a control room which connects the power supply of all the computers present. There was a record room which consists of many files.
Ritvik and Arjun began their search. As they began Arjun became completely occupied with his thoughts. Although at first he thought he would be able to find it. But this was not as easy as he thought. He tried locating files in corners and everything he thought was possible. On the other hand Ritvik stood behind him. He let him do what he was doing. His senses were at alert mode to know if anyone enters their place.
Also he would shift the section back at place to its initial condition. In case if it got left the way Arjun was searching, it would definitely alert anyone.
Arjun was unable to find anything out. They have checked many sections of files of many cubicles. His sixth sense or intuition was not working to indicate him anything as suspicion.
Rhythm was sitting at the topmost place he could find near them. He followed them wherever they both went. He would find the topmost place he could locate and watch them silently.
Arjun had started feeling helpless. He didn't know what he should do now. But then his attention went to the PC power connection. He saw that the power connection was not connected to the PC. His mind ran and he went to look over there closely.
"This means they are not using Pc' s. It certainly means they are using their own laptops to continue their work. "
"Then Is there anyone among them who is still using Pc. "
Arjun was talking to himself. Ritvik heard him.
Arjun then looked over in his direction.
" Ritvik checks out if there is any PC which is connected to the Power supply."
" Okay"
" You go in that section and I will check out in this direction."
Arjun told him pointing his fingers in different directions.
Ritvik didn't want to approve it. He started having bad feelings about it.But he couldn't think out of the good reason to oppose him. Thus he went to the place to check out.
"Be alert on your voki toki. In case you find anything or even hear anything. Call me."
Ritvik told him as he went into the different direction.
" Yes sure "
Arjun replied and he rushed towards the other section which was near the power supply.
Rhythm followed Arjun.
