Chapter 139 - Fatherly Talk

Silas' POV:

I stormed in to Travis's current bedroom he was using in my castle then walked over to the bed, yanking the covers off with a growl as I exposed my fangs. "Travis! You snake! We're going to have a loooooong chat," I hissed then grabbed him by the shirt and yanked him out of the bed before I started to drag him to the door. Yeah, I'm acting a little dramatic on purpose, but I am a little upset he is trying to do things with my sister... and I need to scare him into behaving~ He widened his eyes and held onto the bed for dear life.

"Silas," he whined. "I was sleeping," he begged.

"Oh, I bet you were," I hissed then ripped him from the bed and brought him up to my face, glaring at him. "You're so lucky I don't kill you right here and right now! I could put you in a pot of boiling water or a barrel of acid and be rid of you!"

"Hey! Esther has the right to choose who she wants as a mate," he hissed at me and exposed his fangs. "You can't just go snatching her lovers out of their beds and kill them."

"I'm the head of this household. What I say here goes," I snarled at him then dragged him out of the bedroom and glanced towards Esther's bedroom where she must still be sleeping. I looked back at him then started to pull him down the hall towards the library where I had breakfast set up for the two of us so we could talk. "If you don't have enough respect for that, then you will leave and you'll tell Esther you're scum."

"I'm not scum," he hissed out. "I'm perfectly fine." He tried to yank away from me and gave me a small growl. "You're just jealous because I managed to catch your sister's attention and boy did she like it." I narrowed my eyes then smacked him across the face.

"Have more respect," I snarled. "Now, you will follow me, or I will drag you. Which one is it?" He rubbed his face before glaring me down.

"You don't have any rights to go smacking me," he hissed and tackled me quickly. I watched him and laughed then before I wrapped my arms around him.

"Respect my wishes," I told him then smirked. "Trust me. I wouldn't be bullying you for nothing." I yanked away from him before I grabbed his arm and started to drag him down the hallway. "So~ You think you can date my sister!" I trailed off then and walked with him calmly. "We're going to the library where she won't wake up and hear us, but boy, you're in trouble. I'm having to step in for my father, and my father would be pissed."

"Pshhhh! He's not here. You're not her father. Bug off. If I mess up, then you can come give me some long boring speech. Until then, back off. We can date each other as we please."

"No, you're going to get the father talk," I hissed then smacked him upside the back of his head. "Be glad my other brother is on his honeymoon tonight!"

"Stop smacking me," he hissed. "You might be my boss, but that's only when I'm working." He glared me down. I smirked at him then pulled him into the library before I shut the door and locked it.

"Sit down," I ordered him, putting my hands on my hips. He looked me over before looking the room over and walked up to the table before sitting down. I walked over then poured him some of the warm blood laid out for us then poured myself some before I sat down across from him and took a sip, watching him closely as I studied him and crossed my legs. "I take it you like my sister then?" I asked him calmly, eyeing him over. "You like her enough to claim you're dating?" He looked the blood over before grabbing it and took a sip.

"Yeah, sure," he told me and shrugged. "I told her I wouldn't cheat." I felt my eyebrow twitch then. Does he not care? This is serious.

"What are you're intentions with her then," I hissed at him, feeling my blood start to boil. Bastard... I bring him in here to talk with him and make sure he's good enough for her and he doesn't seem to give a shit.

"A relationship, duh." He rolled his eyes. "Look, her and me are in agreement."

"This isn't just some thing that you can do willy nilly like," I told him and leaned forward. "That's my sister sleeping in her bedroom. When she was little, she dreamed of having a prince that would do anything for her and of owning unicorns and cats to play with," I hissed then stood up. "If you don't have enough respect for her to say you like her in sincerity instead of shrugging your shoulders at me like you don't know, then get out." He glared me down.

"I'm not going. I'm sorry she's not getting a prince charming, but she's getting me. I don't care if you like it or not," he hissed. He stood up quickly and exposed his fangs again at me. He started for the door then. "I'm done here." I walked up to him and grabbed his arm before I pulled him to look at me then looked him in the eyes before I sighed.

"You don't have to be a prince to be prince charming for her," I whispered then gave him a soft smile. "If you like her, I don't mind if you date her- just don't hurt my sister. She means a lot to everyone that lives here, and she's the only sister I have that was born my sister. Travis, you're a great bartender, and I love hanging out with you. I wouldn't mind you dating her at all. I just need to make sure that she won't be hurt again. I went into Hell for her Travis. I have to protect her. She's my little sister. If you truly like her and you want to date her with good intentions, then I will relax and let you and I'll even get you a nice outfit or two for you to wear going to balls with her. You'll need them. She likes parties, and she likes dancing. You can easily be a prince charming Travis. You have the confidence, but you also have an ego that likes to flirt with other girls."

"You don't know that," he hissed. "Just because I'm flirtatious doesn't mean I'll just go cheating on your sister. I'm better than that. Your sister will be just fine being with me." He rolled his eyes quickly. "I can handle her." I nodded slowly then smiled.

"Alright Travis, I'll hold you to that," I purred then pulled him into a hug. "I'll have to get you if you do hurt her though, you know?" I teased him then looked him in the eyes. "So how's the bar?" I whispered to him and smirked. "Has it been alright? I've been busy marrying off my children."

"Yeah. We have customers now," he told me and shrugged. "It's fine. Mia is a handful though. She keeps thinking I'm the trouble maker." I nodded then.

"I see~ Would you like it if I got you more humans then for you to have work with you?" I asked him and pulled away. "I could easily do so~" I walked over to the table and took a sip of my blood as I looked at him, waiting for him to come over and sit back down.

"We have others," he told me and sat back down across the table from me. "Mia made sure of that. You should thank her." I nodded.

"I will. I think I'll stop in soon... once we're done in Russia. My third youngest is currently getting engaged to the Russian prince," I told him and smiled. "You knoooow~ I could knight you Travis. I was a king, and I'm still a prince... and I am the new leader of the resistance. You could throw that title around with Esther to make her giggle."

"A knight? I don't know.... That's a big title.... and I rather mix drinks than call myself a knight." He shrugged. "I'm a bartender, Silas. Esther likes me for who I am and that's me." I nodded then and purred.

"You're going to make a great boyfriend for her Travis. I hope she shines for you one day and lights up every time she sees you. She'd be truly happy then," I whispered. "Maybe one day I might even call you brother~"

"Ew, I don't know about that." He wrinkled up his nose. "You better not go calling me your brother." He finished the blood quickly. I laughed at him then.

"She's going to capture your heart Travis," I purred to him. "You'll marry her one day, maybe not anytime soon, but you will."

"Maybe," he told me and smirked. "You'd like that wouldn't you? Your sister finally finding love?" I nodded quickly.

"Of course. She's my little sister. If she's happy, I'm happy," I told him then smirked. "You already have her undivided attention though. You just have to win her heart from her, but you'll lose yours in return. You're much better than her mate ever could've been for her. I'm happy it's you if it had to be someone her brother's didn't suggest to her."

"Well, I'm glad I got to her before she got someone else kissing up her arm," he said calmly.

"It probably would've happened soon," I told him then smirked. "If I remember correctly... I think there were some suitors who sent letters to Lyle asking to see Esther. There are a few she doesn't know about that have been quite taken with her since meeting her at different and various parties. Not to mention she recently started talking with the queen of England- and she has a habit of getting men in her bed. She might've rubbed off on Esther in time."

"I'm glad I chose the night she came into my bar and got drunk," he muttered. "Now I don't have any competition." I nodded.

"Yes, we'll be sending out letters to her little fanboys that she's taken," I told him then smirked. "So, I think you should take her on a date tonight. Make her laugh some. She needs it. You can easily make dinner reservations at the-" The door busted open and Esther walked in with a sleepy look in her eyes as she rubbed at them.

"Silas, I heard shouting in the hallway outside my room," she mumbled then looked our way. "You wouldn't be happening to be doing something behind my back... would you?" She asked me. Oh... we woke her up. Damn.

"He's giving me the parent talk," Travis groaned out. "Your brothers are too protective. You're a grown woman." She frowned then and walked up.

"Silas, I don't need your protection. I can perfectly handle myself. If I like Travis, I like Travis, and he promised me not to do anything wrong," she told me and then crossed her arms. "Dad died years ago. We don't need you acting like him either." I frowned then.

"It's just to make sure," I purred to her then poured her a glass. "Want to sit down with us?" She looked the glass over then picked it up and took a sip before she sat down in Travis's lap, giving me a challenging look. I sighed then. Stubborn. Travis leaned in towards her neck and gave it a soft kiss.

"So Silas said we should go out to a restaurant tonight," he told her. "Is that something you'd like?" She looked back at him then blushed before she kissed his cheek.

"I wouldn't mind... but I wanted to watch a movie with you on the couch where we could be ourselves," she whispered before she leaned in and kissed under his ear, blushing deeply as she turned around in his lap to face him. "Would you like to go out to dinner?"

"I want what you want," he told her calmly. "Whatever you want." She giggled then and pulled back to look him in the eyes.

"Then I want it to be just us~" She told him happily and stole a small kiss from him. "You're so sweet Travis!"

"Uh-huh. Don't let everyone know though... okay?" He asked. She nodded and purred.

"Okay, you'll just be my sweet Travis," she told him and wrapped her arms around his neck before she leaned in for another kiss. I held back a laugh as I took a sip of my blood. She's starved for romance.... He leaned back and placed his finger against her lips.

"Hey, what happened to 'we're taking this slow'?" He asked and laughed. "You weren't this clingy last night." She looked at his finger then blushed before she looked back at him.

"I'm sorry for being drunk last night," she whispered to him. "I didn't mean to get that way.... Thank you for taking me home," she told him then hugged him. "My brother shouldn't be talking to you like this either."

"It's ok. I got you to be my girlfriend, which is cool." He shrugged. "Plus I got a bed out of it." She blushed then giggled before she kissed his cheek.

"Does that mean you're going to start staying here?" She asked him hopefully.

"Can I?" He asked quickly. She thought it over for a few seconds and watched him.

"No you may not-"

"Yes, you may," she purred to him and kissed his neck softly. "As long as you are my boyfriend, you may stay here... with me."

"Sweet!" He looked her over before kissing her cheek. I frowned. He better not be using her for a place to stay. She giggled happily then looked at him in excitement before she kissed his cheek then grabbed his hand.

"Come with me~ We're going to go pick out a movie," she told him and got to her feet, pulling him with her.

"Travis, remember what I told you about hurting her," I reminded him quickly, watching him. Esther frowned slightly and looked at me in confusion then up at Travis as she hesitated.

"I know, I told you I wasn't going to," he told me. He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the room quickly. I sat there and watched them go before I took a sip of my drink then got to my feet, heading for Everest's room to tell him.

"Everest, I had that talk with him," I purred as I walked in then stopped quickly as I saw Everest on top of Neal with the covers drawn about them. Crap! I quickly looked away as I heard Everest laugh a little, the bed moving.

"Don't worry Silas. You didn't see anything. We still have our boxers on~" Everest purred to me sweetly.

"Silas, don't you know how to knock?" Neal asked and frowned. "We're close to mating season."

"Ummmm... I do know how to knock. I thought you were out... hunting," I told them as I turned back around to face them, seeing Everest laying beside Neal as he had his arms around him. "It's close to mating season?"

"Uh huh~ I'm having cubs again," Everest said excitedly. "I'm going to talk to Charles about being turned female."

"Yes, Silas... All the wolves are going to be mating real soon. So you better learn to knock on our door." Neal kissed Everest on the cheek. I nodded then.

"Okay... I'll knock next time. You two okay or do I need to leave so you can do whatever it was you two were doing?" I asked, backing up towards the door.

"No it's fine. You can stay. So you had that talk with Travis? That's good. Is he staying?"

"Yeah, he's staying," I purred to him. "Esther really likes him."

"That's great. Let those two have their fun. I don't think Travis would have the balls to mess with our family anyways like that. He likes her so let them be." Neal let out a predatory growl as he leaned in towards Everest's neck. Everest giggled and pushed at his face.

"Hey you big overgrown pup," he teased. "That's my neck~" I'm so glad I'm not mated to a werewolf. That would be horrifying. Neal growled again before kissed Everest on the cheek.

"I know, send your brother away." He told him.

"Why? You going into mating season early?" He teased him and smirked at Neal before playfully running his hand along Neal's chest, tracing the lines of his muscles.

"Everest, we were in the middle of something." Everest smirked then leaned in, kissing Neal's chest.

"Are you still hot for me~" Everest teased. Oh man, I don't want to see that! I looked away quickly.

"Everest, I can leave," I told him quickly, earning a laugh.

"Yes. Get lost Silas. We're mating," Neal growled out at me. "This isn't a show."

"Awww, but that's my brother. I'll go spend time with him then come back with you. He looks lonely~" I heard Everest getting up off the bed. Shiiiiiiizzzzz.

"No you're not!" Neal growled and yanked Everest back. "Get lost Silas," he said again. "Now."

"Yeah, I'm gone," I said quickly and walked out of the room, shutting the door. I heard Everest giggle as the bed rustled.

"That was mean. He came in here to talk to me.... I'll have to punish you~" Oh... my... I'm going home to Rei. I quickly walked away from the door to avoid hearing anything and shook my head as I pulled out my phone.

Me: Hey Rei, you mind sending someone to get me? I think I'm done here for now.

Rei: Sure. I have something to show you when you get home. It's from the Russian King. I'm sending Mauri to get you.

Me: Thanks~ I love you sweetie. I can't wait to see you.

I smiled happily and purred as I went to the night room to wait on her, sitting down on the couch and looked around, my eyes lingering on the wall that had to be patched up long ago from Milo and I fighting it out in here. I frowned slightly then followed my train of sight out to the garden through a window where he killed me then felt a little sick, looking away quickly as the memory came flooding back of how I had tried to kill Lyle and how his little mate defended him. Mauri appeared then and reached out for my hand. "Hey, ready to go?" She asked and smiled.
