Chapter 93 - Babysitter

A'slin's POV:

I stopped outside Killian's door, feeling hesitant before knocking on it. Sera was home now and she texted me that I was relived of my duty and free to go home... but does Killian want that? Does he really want me to go or does he want me to stay longer? After all.... He probably enjoyed my company. I could spend a few more nights here if he doesn't mind. "Killian! Sera texted me and told me she was home... and that I didn't have to babysit you anymore." I heard a small thud before a few footsteps started coming towards the door slowly.

"Oh... so you're leaving?" I heard Killian ask me softly from the other side of the door, a slight nervousness in his voice.

"I figured I would let you know she was home," I told him calmly. The door opened then and he stood there, looking up at me as he brushed his black hair over his ear. I could see a little sadness in his eyes, but he gave me a kind smile.

"Thanks for letting me know," he whispered to me. "Tell your family I said hi for me?" He doesn't want to ask me to stay longer?

"I- I will," I told him softly. I thought he wanted to be friends. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked down at the ground.

"Are you leaving right now?" He asked, his voice barely coming out.

"I told my parents..." I trailed off. "That I'd be home when Sera dismisses me from my duty." I gave a small smile then. "But I don't have to go so soon... I could go home when Lyle's coronation happens. We could go together." He looked up at me wide eyed then before a huge smile appeared on his face and he tackled me into a hug.

"Stay," he told me quickly. I laughed softly, relieved. So he does like me.

"Okay. We'll pick out our suits together~" I hugged him back. I've got another friend besides Nico.

"That sounds fun! I think you'll look good with a blue tie," he told me happily then pulled me into his room, shutting the door. I laughed then.

"I was wanting to maybe... not put on a suit and just put on maybe a dress shirt and some nice pants and maybe my best pair of shoes." He looked at me and nodded.

"Yeah, you're the son of two kingdoms and heir to the throne. I don't think anyone is going to say anything to you about not being in a suit, and if they do, I doubt you'll care," he purred to me then leaned up against the door slightly, watching me. "Are you going to pick a colored dress shirt? Or is it going to be white?"

"White," I said calmly. "I'm not going to get too creative. I hate the idea of trying to impress people. We'll dress you up though," I purred in a teasing tone. He frowned a little then.

"Can we make sure that it isn't too soul crushing to wear?" He asked me.

"I wanted to put you in a silver suit," I teased. "A little silver streak running down your hair in the front might look nice too." He blushed a little and then grabbed a few strands of his hair and looked towards it.

"A silver streak?"

"Don't like the idea?" I asked and laughed.

"N-no... I didn't say that.... I just never thought of my hair as anything other than black," he murmured and let go of his hair. "I never thought about putting another color into it." He looked up into my eyes then and gave a slight smile. "We could get a non permanent one and test it out at the coronation- that way if I don't like it, it'll wash out eventually."

"We could spray one in," I suggested. "I should dye my hair. If Echo gets to dump Kool-aid in her hair.... then so should I. What do you think? A nice pink might look good in my hair," I teased.... but then again I'd look like Kara. "Maybe a red."

"Red would probably be better," he purred to me then started to walk up to me. He smiled and grabbed my hand. "It'd match your eyes," he told me, glancing from my hair to my eyes. "I think it would be pretty.... Your hair is really long too," he said and smiled before he started to lead me to the couch and let go as he sat down. I sat down next to him and laughed.

"Think so? Yeah... I should do a red! You want to come with me?" I grabbed his hand and rubbed it. He blushed a little and looked towards our hands then at me.

"Come with you?" He asked me softly.

"Isn't that what best friends do?"

"Yeah," he told me and smiled. "I'll come with you. I don't mind, and I wouldn't really have someone else to go with."

"We'll spray some silver in your hair," I purred. "We can go in the morning so there is less people to stop us and more of a chance to get the best stylist." He nodded and smiled.

"Sounds fun~" He laughed then. "At least all the vampires here will be asleep. We'll just have to watch out for my father when we're leaving the castle to go to a stylist... but I doubt he'd say anything."

"Hey... as long as I'm watching you he won't say much," I laughed out.

"Well yeah, Mr. Babysitter," he teased me and smirked. "Even if you're younger than me." He gave my hand a squeeze before he reached for a remote on the end table beside him and hit a button on it, putting on some music- Coldplay.

"We should take a nap," I suggested. I don't want to fall asleep while my hair is getting dyed. He looked towards me and smiled.

"Sure... are you going back to your room... or are you... staying in here? I have lots of pillows for you to put between us if you want," he told me and glanced towards his bed where he had piled up a lot of pillows at the top of the bed.

"I'll put a timer on my phone," I told him as I started for his bed while going through my phone to get a timer going. We'll sleep until a few hours past dawn. He turned off the music and followed after me, moving ahead before he leaned over his bed and started to grab some pillows, creating a line on the bed that divided it in half. I crawled into the bed and placed my phone on the night stand. Hopefully we won't wake up biting each other. He crawled in on the other side of the bed and purred slightly before he got under the blankets and snuggled up in them, his black hair falling down into his face. I could see his neck really well from this angle... better than the other time when I had bitten him in his sleep. I watched his neck for a few minutes before closing my eyes. I shouldn't drink from him again... I'm going to get us killed one day if I keep it up. "Goodnight, Killian."

"Goodnight," he said softly to me, his voice sounding sweet....

I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder before I heard the bed rustle slightly and arms wrapped around me. I whimpered and shook myself awake, looking around. "KILLIAN!" I hissed out. He licked his lips and curled up beside me, kicking the pillows out of the way as he licked my shoulder with a pleased purr. "That's my shoulder," I hissed. "I'm positive I can't be healthy for you! I'm not human. Stop biting me." He grazed his teeth against my skin before his arms tightened around me slightly and he pulled me closer to him then kissed the wound slightly, his stomach growling. I shrieked and grabbed the pillow under my head, hitting him hard on the head with it. "Let me go." He let out a yelp and curled up quickly, letting me go as he put his hands on his head to shield himself from another hit. "Now I'm going to have to change outfits before I leave," I grumbled as I smelled my blood all over his bed. His eyes opened slowly from where he had them shut and he looked towards my blood on his bedsheets before they trailed up to me. I could see a dazed look in his eyes as they focused in on my bloody shoulder, but he stayed down.

"Go get cleaned up," I ordered as I slipped out of the bed. "I'll call a maid in here to sort out blood world. I bet they'll think one of us is a girl on her monthly if we keep this up." He frowned a bit before his eyes lightened and he sat up.

"A girl?" He wrinkled up his nose then. "Ewww! I wouldn't let a girl in my bed!"

"I wouldn't either. Nico told me they're disgusting creatures that are filled with cooties." He laughed a little then.

"They don't have cooties.... Besides, they're kinda fun... I just don't want their blood getting on my bed," he told me sweetly. "I don't want that kind of blood near me."

"Maybe you should call the servants." I grabbed my phone and started for the door. "Meet me in the garage in ten minutes."

"A'slin!" He called out after me quickly. I paused to look at him. He blushed as I looked towards him then rubbed the back of his neck. "N-nevermind," he whispered then got out of his bed as he began to pick up the pillows he had kicked off the bed. Fine with me. I walked out and went for my room, going straight inside. Since I'm getting my hair done, I won't pick out a new outfit... I'll put on something suitable for getting destroyed.

Sera's POV:

"Here you go sweetie," I purred to Hesper as I passed along his cup of warm blood. Alfred let out a small laugh as he watched us. We were sitting in the nightroom while Alfred stood around the coffee table, sitting my cup of blood down for me on the table.

"Anything else?" Alfred asked me.

"No I think that'll be all."

"I'm going to be picking my successor to train tonight," Alfred told me softly. I frowned as I watched him. He's been thinking about how old he's getting. Poor old man. I gave him a bright smile. He'll retire and be waited on like me before too long and I'll make him sit with me for breakfast everyday until he dies.

"Alright Alfred. Let me know who you pick," I purred.

"I will," he told me and smiled before leaving the room. Hesper crossed his legs as he sipped on his blood.

"It's not like the blood Alfarus gave me," he mumbled.

"Is Alfarus the dragon king?" I asked sweetly.

"He's my mate."

"Mate? You're too young," I told him and laughed.

"Not really.... The king wouldn't do anything too extreme with him at his current age- just raise him to be a good mate," I heard Ross purr at the door then moan. "I love fish~" he was standing there with a plate of sushi, putting pieces into his mouth and eating them with a delighted look on his face. I looked Ross over before raising an eyebrow.

"Now youuuu are supposed to be downstairs in your hoard with Toma. Is he resting or something?" I teased lightly. I looked towards Hesper then. "You know I married young. I was actually just thirteen when I married Tomas. That was a long time ago. But now days... You should definitely wait at least a decade before deciding on who to mate with, Hesper." I took my cup of blood and started to sip on it. "Well Ross... You can make yourself handy and watch Hesper... after all you don't look very busy." I gave a small smirk. He's not getting away with making me watch Hesper the whole time he stays here. His jaw dropped slightly.

"NO! I want to mate with Toma!" He let out a sharp growl. "I don't want to babysit him right now! I have a mate who will come get me if I don't go back soon!"

"Well I'm not watching Hesper the whole time! Godric might stop by and I don't want to be caught babysitting. Take care of him, will you?" Ross frowned at me then looked towards Hesper.

"You better not try anything funny," he warned him then looked towards me. "I will watch him for a few hours... but then I want to return to my own mate! It's our first mating season together, and I don't want to miss more than a few hours of it. Go find your mate and make the time I'm losing with my mate worth it." He looked me over then walked over, sitting down next to Hesper and grabbed the TV remote, sticking it in his hand.

"I didn't say I was going to go to Godric. I am a lady and I already told him that he was welcomed here anytime. He'll come see me when he's ready... but I will not be watching Hesper the whole time he's visiting us. He's your responsibility too. Now take him somewhere else and let me have my own privacy." Ross looked towards me then let out a small growl.

"No way! If you're not going to go to your mate, then I don't want to watch him! It's mating season! I need to be with my mate! He's in heat! Can't you watch him until mating season is over? I'm sure Godric won't come before it's over. He's a doctor- a very busy job!" He pouted at me. "Pleaaaase! Toma will be angry."

"You should have thought of that before wondering into the night room. You're watching him tonight. I think I might have tea with Kingsley." He growled then shifted into a cat sized dragon before he slipped off the couch quickly and made his escape towards the door.

"Ross! I'm not a babysitter! Hesper is your responsibility and I'm not going to take care of him for you- what if this was your baby dragon? You're just going to hand off your hatchlings to me while you mate with Toma? Nu-uh hussler. Get back in here or else I'll get you fixed." He let out a sharp yelp and sunk down to the floor quickly, looking back at me in alarm.

"F-fixed?!"

"Snip snip," I told him. I looked towards Hesper and rubbed his head. "Darling, don't you want to play with Ross for a little while?" I gave a small purr as Hesper looked towards Ross.

"Can we go see Alfarus?" Hesper asked sweetly.

"No," Ross told him and crawled back to us, not looking pleased about having to watch him. "Fine... I'll watch him only to prove to you that I wouldn't abandon my own hatchlings," he murmured to me, glancing my way before he looked up at Hesper and jumped up into his lap. He looked Hesper over before he snuck up to his hand then started to rub his head against it, giving a small purr. "I guess I'll just make Toma needy and desperate so he comes looking for me~ That'll be fun~!" He looked excited then. "Hesper~ We should go play hide and seek in the library~! There's lots of shelves to hide behind."

"I want to go find Alfarus!" Hesper told him. "He'll be missing me."

"I think you two better stay away from the library.. it has big windows." I got to my feet and pulled out my phone to text my nephew. He doesn't see me much. I need to go annoy him into giving me little kids to adore. Ross looked at me and then nodded before he looked at Hesper and puffed smoke his way.

"We're not going to find Alfarus! You can write him letters though if you want~ but I'm not taking you to find him. Your father would be very mad with me, and Alfarus would hoard you away in his nest so we could never get you again. You'd never see your family again, and then when you're older, he'd be wanting to mate with you," Ross told him and then nuzzled his head against his stomach. "You can write letters though~ That's all I will allow~" Hesper sniffled then.

"But I really REALLY miss him!" Hesper told Ross before he broke out into tears. "He's going to eat me when he finds me!" I purred in amusement before walking out of the nightroom and shut the doors behind me, going for Kingsley's room. I bet he's still asleep. I heard my phone start to ring in my pocket then, buzzing as someone was calling me. I pulled my phone back out and answered the call, putting it to my ear.

"Ross, you can handle watching Hesper for a few hours. Toma can wait until you're done watching him. Mating isn't really that important... especially since you're both males. He can sleep it off."

"Oh? Mating isn't that important? Glad to know," I heard Godric purr on the other end of the phone.

"Especially when you're both dragons during mating season," I purred to continue amusing him. "Did you know.... your sexual desire won't be fulfilled anyways because it's not like one of you will start getting a fat belly. So you might as well take a break."

"Hmm... I'm glad I'm not looking for a fat belly.... Wait, let me check. I might have some Japanese fat growing in me. I had one two many rice plates," I heard him purr then the phone shuffled. "Nope, not going to have a noodle kid."

"If anything," I purred. "You'll just end up growling at each other as you find yourselves looking at the hot dragon down the road."

"So... they're in mating season? Yeesh.... That must suck. I heard they call to each other a lot during that time... constantly," he told me. "You're getting enough sleep, right?" He sounded a little concerned.

"Ross brought home a mate of the dragon king and I've been on duty watching him," I told him. "But I finally managed to make him watch Hesper for a few hours. I'm well rested."

"Oh good," he purred. "So I'm going to guess that I shouldn't come over today then.... After all, it's their mating season. They might not like an intruder... and then you have that mate of the dragon king there on top of that. I don't want to be there if the king shows up looking for his mate. I barely was able to get Ross to like me...."

"You don't like a challenge?" I asked and tsked. "That's too bad.... I'll just pile my pillows back up on the side I don't sleep on in my bed."

"Aww, but I'd much rather take you out on a date instead of crawling into bed with you. A proper lady like you should be romanced," he purred to me.

"You don't think rose peddles and candle sticks are romantic?" I asked him. "Not even watching a movie like..... Titanic?"

"No, I never said that," he purred to me. "Of course they're romantic, but if you're going to go that far, I think we should invest in some sweet scented candles- not just candle sticks. I personally love vanilla... or rose scents. No, I was just saying that perhaps you'd like me to take you out on dates and treat you like a sweet lady. I didn't think you'd want me to be in your room with you so quick, watching movies."

"I heard it's perfectly normal for today's society," I told him. "To lay in the bed with the same guy you have.... feelings for.... Besides.... doesn't Juliette's manor count?" I teased.

"Oh? You mean when we bumped into each other?" He purred and I heard him sitting down. "I would call that more of a meeting, not a date. If it was a date, we would've danced there together, but alas... the hunters shot it all up." I purred as I sat down on the steps and crossed my legs.

"So whatever shall we do?" I asked him. "You don't want a bed date and I was hoping to show you how comfortable it was so maybe you'd stay longer-"

"Who are you talking to?" I heard Kingsley ask.

"Yeah? Do we need to go tell Alfred?" Aurelio asked.

"I bet your bed is really comfortable, but mine is pretty great too," I heard him purr in my ear. "It sounds like you aren't alone though. Who is that?"

"My nephew Kingsley," I purred as I looked over my shoulder at the two. "With his queen."

"Are you talking to a guy?" Kingsley asked and raised an eyebrow. "When did you get a boyfriend? So you're going to let me meet him right?"

"Oh? Your nephew? I hope you're not in trouble for talking with me, Ms. Sera," he told me and laughed slightly.

"I'm older," I whispered into the phone.

"Where's he at?" Aurelio asked.

"That's true. You are probably older, but... nephews can get upset," he told me. "So he has a queen?" I heard Kingsley step down to me and snatch the phone up, putting it on speaker.

"I do have a queen," Kingsley purred. "We'd like to know where we can pick you up at."

"Sounds sketchy, King Kingsley," Godric said in amusement. "You might sell my blood or something."

"How cheap?" Aurelio asked. "Do you think we can sell it twenty a pint?"

"No... we're not after your blood. You better tell us where we can find you at so we can bring you over. My aunt looks like she's desperate for a fun time-"

"I AM NOT!" I gasped out.

"She's very lonely," Aurelio purred into the phone.

"Are you trying to hook your dear aunt up with someone?" I heard Godric laugh then. "You snatched the phone away from her though~!"

"She's not good at making moves. She's from the fourteenth century where they never touched hands even for a dance," Aurelio laughed out.

"I am not," I puffed out.

"Wait, wasn't she just saying her bed was comfortable?" Kingsley asked. "You know she's wanted a child for ages," he whispered into the phone.

"THAT'S IT!" I yelled. "Phone! Now!" I reached out for it.

"It's true," Aurelio laughed out.

"A... child?" Godric asked, finally sounding serious as his voice came out softer. "How come she never had one?" I felt my eyebrow twitch as I got to my feet and pounced for the phone but they ran up the stairs with it.

"Because my uncle Tomas couldn't have children. So she couldn't have any with him. Poor thing..... But Tomas died a few decades ago so you're cool to give me a cousin right? Listen... I want a guy cousin, cool? A guy!"

"We haven't even gone on a date!" Godric said quickly and then laughed slightly. "I don't think the lady Sera would want me in her bed like that yet. Besides, I'm not ready for children yet.... Maybe after I've gone on a couple of dates and Sera loves me."

"Look, I've got a marvelous idea. We'll start planning the wedding. What kind of ring do you want?"

"KINGSLEY!" I yelled and chased after him. Aurelio laughed and tripped me as Kingsley took off to the top of the stairs.

"We'll put you both on a yacht and you'll come back in seventeen years with sixteen children.... I've seen it before."

"No way! I don't want sixteen children! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT WOULD DO TO POOR SERA!? Besides! If I'm going to ever get married, I want to propose on my own terms! Don't you dare touch a thing," I heard him hiss slightly.

"What? You mean you don't want a hot rocking wife that's also a kick ass mom? You don't want the full package? Alright then I might just have to hang up on you."

"Kingsley!" I yelled.

"Psttttttt.... I know what kind of meal she likes," Kingsley whispered into the phone.

"Really? What kind of meal?" I heard him whisper back. "By the way, I never said I didn't want to marry, just I wanted to propose- but what kind of meal?"

"KINGSLEY!" I yelled as I ran past Aurelio and grabbed Kingsley, throwing him up against a wall. "Don't take my phone."

"Oh now look at the lady~ She's being vicious," Aurelio sung out.

"I was just playing around~ But we all know you want children," Kingsley purred out.

"I didn't," Godric said calmly on the other end of the phone.

"You're embarrassing," I grumbled and held out my hand for the phone.

"So it was nice chatting with you~ but my aunt looks really pissed at me." Kingsley handed over the phone. "We'll stalk you later."

"What? Now I'm definitely hiding out here in my place.... I don't need you knowing where I live," Godric said and laughed. "We'll see how long it takes for you to find me."

"What about our date?" I asked.

"Oh~ That's right. So do you want to go out, come here, or have me come there?" He asked me sweetly, sounding delighted to be talking to me again.

"You can come here like I said the first time. I'll have someone come get you. Aurelio... you don't look too busy."

"Wait... can it not be the crazy king's queen? I don't want them stalking me."

"I.. suppose.... I could..." I frowned as I thought about it. "I could ask Rei to ask one of his talented fledglings to come get you."

"I could drive," he suggested to me.

"Too long of one," I reminded.

"True..." he whispered. "I could come tomorrow?"

"I don't mind going to get him," Aurelio laughed out. "I'll be right back... I'll go ask Laurence to help me find him."

"Well... I guess I'll go take a shower and get cleaned up. Maybe I'll dress a little better than what I'm wearing. Sweatpants don't seem like a good idea," he purred and I heard Godric getting up off the couch. "See you soon, milady Sera?"

"I'll go put on a dress," I said sweetly before hanging up on him. I looked around to notice both the boys have disappeared. Where did Kingsley go? I was going to get him to pick out a dress for me. Guy opinions would be great right now.
