Ross's POV:
Sera stirred to wake as the car began to slow down. Her eyes fluttered open before she sat up quickly and looked out the window, pushing aside a dark curtain to do so, before glancing over at me. "We've arrived Ross. Remember to be on your best behavior. I don't want to be kicked out of a ball that's not our own." She pointed a finger at me before the door on her side was opened and Alfred stood there with an outstretched arm to help her out. She took it as she stepped out. Alfred let her hand go before glancing in at me and extended a hand. He gave me a playful smirk. "You too girlie," he called. Sera made sure we would already be dressed for the ball an hour ago.
We had stopped at a hotel to change at. Her platinum blonde hair was curled from an iron rod with a brooch holding half of the hair up into a braid. As a dress, she had picked one of her pretty pink ones to wear that puffed out with an old ball gown style to it. The dress was sleeveless. She had to pick up the dress just to walk, hinting onto her old fashion sense of life. She reached out for my arm to escort her inside. On the way here, she had remembered and told me the woman's name. It was Juliette Lachlan. She told me Juliette had a brother named Caledon. She remembered calling him Cal once. She remembered Cal more than Juliette.
I purred as I walked beside her and looked over my shoulder towards Alfred, giving him a playful look. Tonight is going to be great. A party with a ton of pureblood vampires is usually fun! I purred happily and straightened my tie, wanting to look my very best for Sera. After all, I was her dragon. If I wasn't dressed well or properly, it would reflect poorly on her. Dragons are already sort of a symbol of power. Our eggs are expensive if they get sold on the market, and I was sold.
Of course I don't mind... but I would mind if it was my future children being sold. I'd burn the place down... but I can't be angry that I was sold because I actually like my life with Sera and my hoard and with Toma.... Sera glanced towards me, tugging me with her into the castle and straight for a ballroom that was lit up and already busy with vampires. I looked around curiously, checking out the surroundings before I linked arms with her and gave her cheek a kiss. "Can I have the first dance?" I asked her sweetly.
"You may," she told me as she took my hand in hers before tugging me onto the dance floor. She placed her free hand on my shoulder. I smiled at her and then started to lead her in the dance, moving along to the music as I swept her around the dance floor.
"Thank you for bringing me with you," I mumbled to her as I held her close and watched her. "It really is nice to not worry about you... and to be here with you."
"I thought you would enjoy coming here with me," she purred thoughtfully. "I didn't want to make Alfred dance with me all through the night. I think he's getting too old."
"Yeah, he's getting older," I told her softly and looked towards him, looking him over before I looked back at her. "I'll dance with you all night though~ I'll stay by your side."
"He'll have to train someone to take his place," she mumbled before kissing my temple. "I missed you while you were with Toma. You're my sweet boy." I purred in delight and gave her a loving look before I gave her cheek a kiss.
"Of course I'm your sweet boy," I told her happily. "You raised me~ You're like a mother to me."
"You're like a son to me," she purred. "I've raised you along with Tomas since you were a hatchling." I smiled softly as I remembered my coin and purred at her.
"Yeah... my precious coin was a great father figure to me," I mumbled to her.
"Spin me around," she purred sweetly. I smiled and did as she told me to, pulling her back to me after I showed her off to the other girls, letting them watch her pretty dress swirl. She gave me a huge smile as the song started to end. "You're as good as you were last time we met on a dance floor," she purred.
"So I'm great?" I asked her and laughed. "Good, I want to be able to impress you and other dance partners." I stopped as the song stopped then glanced around before I started to pull her over to a table full of blood to get her something to drink. She picked up a silver glass full of red before taking a sip from it. She let out a small moan of delight. I watched her before I took her over towards the table of actual food and started to pick something out for myself so that way I wouldn't go hungry. I managed to get a small plate of poached salmon, eating a few bites of it quickly.
"Seraphine!" I heard a girl cry out as she walked up to us. "It's been a while. How are you? Who's the charmer next to you?" Sera turned around to face the girl as she rested her finger on the glass's ring.
"Juliette?" Sera asked with a hint of knowledge she knew her.
"Yes darling!"
"I love your dress," Sera told her sweetly. "This is Ross. He's accompanying me along with my butler Alfred who is off somewhere else in the room."
"You wouldn't mind if I stole him for a dance, would you?" Juliette asked.
"If he's up for it," Sera told her. I finished my fish then and sat it down.
"No, I don't mind giving her a dance if she is a friend of yours," I told Sera and smiled at her.
"Great!" Juliette yelled. She was in a tannish brown dress. A lighter color than her dark brown hair that was pinned up with bobby pins. She held out her hand, waiting for mine eagerly. I caught a few jealous scoffs nearby from the ladies. I purred in amusement, taking note of the ladies and looked towards them before I gave them a cute smile and took her hand. I started to lead her to the dance floor before I pulled her into my arms and put a hand on her waist and held onto her hand, looking into her eyes.
"Are you ready?" I asked her and smirked. I was going to whisk her off her feet.
"Yes," she told me and looked excited to dance with me. I purred to her and then started to lead her to the music, taking great care to dance my very best- outshining most of the men here. I spun her and brought her close into my arms, watching her closely and looked into her eyes intently as I tried to get a feel for our host's attitude and personality by her eyes and her movements. I was curious after all.... She let out a small purr, amused by the dance.
"So you're a dragon?" She asked me as she ran her hand further up my sounder and touched my neck, her fingers sent shivers through me from their cold temperature. "I have a dragon." I widened my eyes a little then.
"You have a dragon?" I asked her, starting to get worried. I'M IN ANOTHER DRAGON'S HOARD! NOOOO! I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE! I'M A THREAT! HE'LL EAT ME! Or try to.... I'm not getting eaten. I'll eat the dragon first if it attacks me. "I didn't know that," I admitted.
"Yes. She's asleep in her hoard." She pointed downwards with her finger before rubbing my neck with it. "Why're you so tense? She's not going to eat you for being here. I told her I was having a ball." I relaxed a little then and nodded.
"I'm a water dragon," I told her softly. "Specifically a sea dragon."
"You're Sera's dragon?" She asked me and tilted her head.
"Yes ma'am," I told her and gave her a sweet smile. "I'm Sera's dragon."
"I heard Sera's husband died," she said and gave a sad look. "That was unfortunate news of Tomas." I frowned a little then.
"Yeah... my coin died.... His successor isn't bad though. He's become a part of my hoard," I purred at the thought of my jewel. She nodded as she glanced around her golden ball room. She had musicians on a stage playing for us.
"That's funny," she mumbled. "Those are new faces." She was staring down two twin girls standing by the entrance. "Perhaps they came from Cal's list of friends." I glanced over at the two girls and looked them over before I purred a little.
"Well, I doubt that they're trouble," I told her and looked back at her. "You can go talk to them if you want," I suggested. "I don't mind. I'll save you another dance for later and let someone else have a turn."
"No way. I'm not passing up our dance! I'll talk to them in a few minutes. Maybe I should go talk to Cal first." I nodded to her.
"That sounds wise. If they're party crashers, it'd be nice to know that first," I hummed out and spun her out, twirling her.
"I'd love to know where party crashers heard about my ball," she said softly. "I sent out invitations.... Not a broad cast."
"Someone could've leaked it to them," I purred in amusement.
"I'll have to ask around if so," she said softly. She seemed to be troubled now by the theory.
"There's still the high probability that they're on your brother's list," I told her and gave her a calm smile.
"True," she purred out and shook her head. "Where were we? Oh right... Are you mated?"
"Mated? Why are you asking?" I asked her sweetly and laughed. Is she looking for a dragon for hers? She must be wanting baby dragons from her female.
"Well I'm just curious is all~" She told me sweetly. I nodded to her.
"Yes, I'm mated to a night dragon named Toma," I told her and smiled. "He's at home in my hoard."
"He? You're mated to a male?" She asked.
"Well... yeah, I'm mated to a male. I didn't originally intend to pick a male mate, but I love Toma, and he loves me back~" I told her and purred, remembering how much Toma had done for me. I mean, he's letting me have KIDS with him. That's huge.
"That's so sweet," she awed out. "I hope it works out for you."
"It will~ We're planning on having hatchlings~" I laughed happily and purred in excitement. She gasped.
"Well let me know when you have some. No better yet, make sure Sera let's me know. She can write to me all about it. I'll love reading about the little hatchings." I nodded to her and smiled.
"Of course, I'll let you meet them too. I'll probably have Sera hold a party for them after they hatch and have gotten used to being in the nest after a few nights," I told her sweetly.
"Mind if I cut in?" I heard a guy ask and tap my shoulder. I frowned a little and looked towards the guy then looked towards Juliette to see if she wanted to dance with him.
"Cal! You're wanting to dance with little me? You'll have to wait." Juliette teased him.
"I need to dance with you now though," he told her. I frowned a little and looked at her brother then at Juliette.
"I'll dance with you later," I promised her then took her hand in my hands and gently gave it a kiss. "Promise~"
"Okay~" She giggled out and went towards her brother whose hair was the same color as hers. Except his was a combed back short mess on his head. Like all he did was run his fingers through it along with a small comb that probably broke in his hair. I snickered a little at his hair before I looked around for Sera. He must not care much about keeping his hair neat. Oh well, some people like it like that. I spotted her then started for her quickly, weaving past people. Sera was busy sitting in a lounge area with two other girls and five other guys. They were laughing about something. I paused, seeing she was enjoying herself with them then looked her over before I glanced towards the twins, wondering if maybe I could dance with one of them or something.
I could find out if they're party crashers.... The twins seemed to have separated almost as soon as they entered the room. One of them was in a black ball gown with feathers coming off of the hips. She had on light swan like makeup to suit the dress style. She had walked off to one of the tables with food and snatched a chocolate covered marshmallow up and started to eat it. I raised an eyebrow and then started for her, deciding to ask her to dance or something. I snuck up to her side and gave a purr.
"Hello~" I purred to her and looked the sweets over, getting a yogurt covered pretzel and ate it. She pushed a bite of chocolate marshmallow into my mouth before giggling.
"Hey stranger. I noticed you putting those moves out on that girl earlier- on the dance floor." She looked the sweets over before moaning and grabbing a brownie. I ate the marshmallow and watched her curiously.
"Yeah, she asked me to dance with her. Her name is Juliette," I told her and laughed, wondering if she would recognize the name or not- if she was a crasher or not.
"Juliette? Ah! She's the talk of the party. The host right?" She asked me and pointed one finger at me. "Who are you?" Bet it's a crasher.
"Ross," I purred at her and leaned against the table slightly.
"Surprise surprise." She started to eat the brownie before moving towards the table full of alcohol. "Oh god.... What is this? A heaven bar?" She asked softly. "Omg, that's brandy!" I put my hands in my pockets and trailed after her. Definitely a crasher.
"What's your name?" I asked her curiously.
"Lavie~" She said with a fake French accent. I laughed then.
"Lavie? Is that short for anything?"
"Yeah. The scent," she mumbled. Lavender then....
"That's a nice name," I told her and gave her a cute smile. "Tell you what, would you like to dance?"
"Not with you," she told me as she eyed down a girl a few feet away. "Maybe with her." I frowned then.
"Why not with me?" Is she extreme lesbian? Or did I do something? She took a glass off the table and turned to look at me.
"What's your name again?"
"Ross, the dragon," I told her and frowned, crossing my arms. "Ross Axelsson."
"A dragon?" She asked and frowned. "What're you doing here?"
"What's that supposed to mean?" I frowned at her then. I looked her over before I smelled the air a little, trying to catch if she was a vampire or not. I don't think a vampire would ask that. They'd assume I'm another vampire's pet- though I'm not a pet. I'm just a vampire's dragon. I caught the faint scent of human then as she looked me over.
"Are you a pet?" She asked. I looked at her, caught off guard from smelling her.
"N... no, I'm not a pet. I'm more like a beloved adopted dragon," I told her and tilted my head. "I belong to Sera Axelsson and her late mate." Why is a human here?
"Really?" She asked me and scoffed. "Are you really?" She asked me before checking the time on the huge clock in the ball room. I growled at her then.
"There's a fine line between pet and being apart of the family. A pet isn't treated as well. I consider Sera my mother, and she considers me like her son," I told her and frowned. "It may be true that most dragons have become pets, but not all of us are. It might be too complicated for a human like you to understand the difference. Your kind doesn't have bonds like supernaturals."
"My kind?" She asked and frowned. "Don't you dare talk bad about my kind." She glared me down before smacking me straight across the face. I yelped and rubbed my cheek as it stung then felt a low growl erupt from me as I felt my fire start to build up a little in my chest. I glared towards her, slowly looking at her then straightened up, angry. This is exactly why I said they don't have bonds. They believe they're superior than other races- at least the bad humans do. It's no wonder why they can't grasp the difference between being a pet and being part of the family. It's the reason why the black markets started up.
"Don't growl at me like that. Ugh. Get out of my face." She started away from me then, grumbling underneath her breath. I snarled at her then stalked over to Sera, turning into a dragon in my irritation and jumped up into her lap as my clothes fell on the floor in front of her seat. She looked down at the clothes before scooping them up and placed them by her. She looked down at me before rubbing my head.
"Ross~ Did you have a good dance?" I looked up at her before I crawled up her onto her shoulder and nestled into my favorite spot by her ear.
"Juliette was good," I mumbled and curled up, puffing out smoke as I watched the human as anger bubbled under the surface. She had walked over to her sister and leaned in to her ear, whispering something to her. I caught Juliette and Cal weren't in the room now. Oh, they definitely party crashed. I growled and tightened my claws a little on her as I clung to Sera's shoulder. Sera yelped, spilling some of the blood onto her dress from her glass.
"Ross! Now I have to go clean this," she told me. I widened my eyes and quickly loosened up on my grip, looking up at her.
"Sorry," I told her quickly and then nuzzled my head against her neck, purring to her comfortingly. "I didn't mean to hurt you~" I caught something shiny then flicker from near the twins before I heard a gun go off. I widened my eyes and looked towards them. "Hunters!" I hissed then roared, jumping down from Sera and turning into a larger form of myself to protect her as I snarled protectively. I heard all the vampires let out a startled gasp as they looked towards them. Lavender had shot a nearby vampire in the head with a pistol.
"Oh, there's a dragon by the way." Lavender told her twin.
"A dragon?! You couldn't have told me that be-" I was after them quickly, tackling them to the floor and watched as their guns were flung from their grips. I pinned them and roared loudly at them, holding them down with my talons wrapped around their waists. They killed a vampire.... I knew they were crashers! They'll hurt my Sera!
"Surprise," Lavender told her. "I thought this would be more fun." She looked up at me before spitting up into my eye. While I was distracted, they were able to get out of my talons. I growled and quickly wiped it out of my eye before I looked for them and spotted them. I roared and went after them, spitting fire their way. Lavender yelled and grabbed her dress, just barely getting out of the fire's way. She giggled before reaching into a pocket hidden on the dress and pulled out another gun. "Dodge the dragon and fifty points per vampire you hit. If you reach five hundred tonight then I'll buy supper." Lavender told her sister. Her sister giggled.
"Oh, you're buying," she told her twin and got out a gun, racing after some of the vampires fleeing. I narrowed my eyes and went after the twin, but she slipped away from me. I growled and turned smaller, weaving through the feet and jumping up on people's shoulders, listening for them. I heard a gun shot go off and then mass panic broke out and I was thrown to the floor. I yelped as I was almost stepped on by the rush of vampires and quickly started trying to get out of the stampede, not wanting to suddenly become big and hurt someone. Alfred was suddenly in my sight as he scooped me up.
"Ross," he smiled sweetly. "Are you being stepped on?" I purred immediately and relaxed at the familiar face and scent. I snuggled up to him, clinging to him.
"Uh huh, thank you for rescuing me," I purred to him and hid my face in his neck. "Let's go home. I don't want Sera getting hurt!"
"We will. We'll go get Sera and leave," he told me before heading straight to the couch she was now hiding behind. I looked at the couch and then jumped onto it, looking behind it towards her before I purred and jumped down to her, landing in her lap as I fluttered my wings so I wouldn't hurt her when I landed.
"Sera~ We're going home!"
"Good. I don't want to stay around here much longer. Why're they here?" She asked and looked over the edge of the couch. I could hear the twins' echos of laughter before gunfire coming from different guns. Looks like Cal and Juliette are fighting them back.
"They're hunters," I hissed to her and looked around for a safer exit. I spotted one and then tugged on her dress in it's direction to get her to notice it. "I'm sure Cal and Juliette will escape if they have to," I told her and purred. "I want you out of here before they notice you."
"Okay," Sera whispered before she crawled out from behind the couch and got to her feet, slipping off her heels. She looked towards Alfred and grabbed his hand before taking off running. He groaned out how old he was as he tried to keep up. I clung to Sera and looked towards the twins to make sure they weren't noticing our escape attempt, keeping watch on them. I heard the dragon from downstairs let out a roar then that echoed through the castle. Someone woke up.
I cackled at the thought of what that dragon would do to the hunters and purred in amusement, letting out my own little roar. PAYBACK TO THE HUNTERS! Even if the dragon would probably attack me in another circumstance.... I heard the gunfire being taken outside of the castle then. Sera escaped through the door before Alfred paused to catch his breath. I looked him over and gave him a comforting purr, leaning over to him from Sera's shoulder and managed to get close enough to lick his cheek.
"Way too old," he said as he rubbed my head. He leaned down to touch his knees.
"Alfred," Sera giggled out. "We're supposed to be leaving."
"I could turn human and carry him," I suggested. "Or I could become a bigger dragon- but it's more noticeable." I fluttered my wings a little and looked Alfred over, judging how big I would have to be to carry him in my jaws. Sera wrapped one of his arms around her neck before dragging him away from the door. I glanced around quickly before I jumped down from her shoulder to go ahead of her and make sure the coast was clear.
I heard the gunfire edging our way a little, making Sera stop with debation. I stopped and looked at her before I looked around then heard someone crash into my Sera. I whipped around to see that a man had knocked into her from the commotion and was on top of her, the two of them on the ground from the impact. Alfred groaned as he fell over with them and let out a small pained cry.
"Am I dead?" Sera asked softly.
"No, I hope not," the male muttered as he sat up and rubbed his head. "I'm so sorry I fell into you. I was shoved," he told her and gave her a small smile. "Such a nice party, right? Everyone's running for their lives." I watched him closely and let out a sharp growl, noticing he hadn't gotten off Sera yet. He better! I'll get him.
"Oh. I thought we were playing duck duck goose," she told him and rubbed her head before pulling out the bloody hair clip and let out a groan of pain. He looked towards it with interest before his eyes glazed over and he looked at her. I saw him start to lean into her neck, a small purr escaping him like he was acting on instinct. I snarled and started to run towards them to attack him. Sera tensed up in confusion before sticking him in the shoulder with the broach. He yelped and sat up on her quickly, looking towards his shoulder in alarm. He pulled the broach out and groaned.
"Ouch," he grumbled then dropped it on the ground then stood up, reaching for her hand as he started to get control of himself. "Let me help you up.... Then I'm going to run like holy hell." He told her. I frowned in confusion and stopped, watching him closely. Wasn't he just about to bite my Sera two seconds ago?! Alfred grabbed the guy's hand before getting up.
"Thank you young lad! You're so thoughtful." Alfred patted him on his shoulder. "What's your name? Perhaps you want to ride in the same get-away car as us?"
"I'm still on the ground here," Sera called out. The guy looked at Alfred and laughed a little before he reached down for Sera and helped her up to her feet.
"My car is just around the corner," he told Alfred. "I'd hate to hold you guys up by trying to get in the car with you. I'll be fine," he told him and looked at Sera before he gave a small bow and kissed her hand. "Milady~" He let her go then before he started walking off quickly. What. The. Heck. Just. Happened?! Sera watched him leaving before rubbing her head and looked back at us.
"How far are we from the car?" She asked Alfred.
"Not far," he told her and looked back at the young man. "Well he was a ball of joy."
"He almost bit my Sera!" I hissed and then leapt up onto her shoulder, giving a protective growl as I looked towards the man's retreating figure. "I'll eat him!" She looked after him before handing me off to Alfred and took off running after him before grabbing his wrist to stop him.
"Is that all?" She asked him. He stopped and looked towards her in slight surprise.
"All?" He asked her softly before he turned to look at her. "Well, there's two crazy hunters trying to shoot us all and kill us." He gave her a smile then. "If we met during another event that wasn't so dangerous to our health, I would definitely ask you to dance with me if that's what you're wanting to know."
"Okay," she said calmly. "That's all then." She started to walk back for us then. He watched her before he glanced over his shoulder then was after her quickly. I growled sharply, seeing him coming and squirmed in Alfred's hands. She turned back to look at him. Alfred's hands tightened around me. The man stopped when she looked at him, and he looked a little uncertain before he looked her in the eyes.
"What's your name?" He asked her softly. "I didn't catch it."
"Seraphine Axelsson," she told him before holding out a hand to shake his. Meanwhile there is shooting and screams around the castle grounds while two bat ass crazy vampire hunters kill the guests and the host and hostess are after them with fire-weapons and a dragon. Alfred rubbed my head to calm me. The man smiled then before he reached out and grabbed her hand, shaking it.
"Godric North," he purred to her, a playful smile on his lips. "Seraphine is a beautiful name. It suits you." I growled loudly then, not liking how close he was to her as I squirmed in Alfred's arms so I could get free and attack him.
"They call me Sera," she whispered to him.
"Sera... It's cute," he mumbled to her then glanced behind her towards where the shooting was then looked down into her eyes. "Let's get out of here." WHO THE HECK DOES HE THINK HE IS TALKING TO MY SERA LIKE THAT!? HE CAN'T TALK LIKE HE'S JOINING US. HE'S NOT COMING WITH US! I snarled towards him, but he didn't seem to notice as he began to lead Sera to her car, guessing right about which one it was. She purred as she got into the car.
Alfred had followed them before getting into the drivers seat. He sat me down in the passengers seat, buckling me into it. I heard that Godric guy get into the car, shutting the door quickly. I narrowed my eyes and squirmed out of the seatbelt then leapt up onto the shoulder of the seat and roared at Godric, going for him. He caught me as I jumped at him and held onto me tightly, holding me away from his body with an unconcerned look. "Is he yours?" He asked Sera and smiled. "I like his scales. They're very pretty...."
"Yeah~ I raised him from his little hatchling days. This is Ross." Sera reached out for me and pulled me into her lap. Alfred sped out of the driveway as we heard a wicked laugh coming from the gunfire.
"He looks like a sea dragon," he hummed out thoughtfully. "Those are interesting from what I've heard- being able to breathe underwater. I heard they like to fish for their masters and mates too." He reached out to pet my head, but I snarled at him and bit into his hand, making him yelp and yank it back.
"Ross," I heard Sera scold. "Don't bite him." I puffed smoke at the vampire before I looked towards Sera.
"Why's he in the car?!" I asked her and moved up onto her shoulder protectively. "He's dangerous! You don't know him! You can't just let a stranger into your car!"
"I let a strange egg grow up in my castle," she purred to me. "He turned out to be a fine young dragon." I looked at her and then at the vampire, growling at him.
"That's different. I was a baby! You could raise me to behave," I told her then moved closer to her neck. "I don't trust him," I mumbled and nuzzled my head against her, glaring towards the vampire cradling his hand.
"He's a very protective dragon, isn't he?" Godric mumbled and frowned, looking his bloody hand over. "His teeth are sharp."
"You'll just have to keep that sharp eye of yours on him then," she told me and poked my nose. I paused and looked towards her finger before I looked up at her.
"Keep my eye on him? We're not keeping him, are we?!"
"Well I don't know... Let's ask him. Godric, would you like to stay?" Sera looked into his eyes then. Godric looked towards her and nodded slightly, getting lost in her eyes. I narrowed my eyes then.
"NO! I SAID NO! HE CAN'T STAY WITH US! IT'S MY HOARD!" I growled and puffed out smoke. "SERA, HE CAN'T MOVE IN! WE DON'T KNOW HIM!" Sera rubbed under my chin then.
"Hush Ross. Your yelling is only giving us headaches." She kissed the top of my head. "He's staying if he wants to. He's welcomed to." I growled, trying not to fall for her rubbing my chin but found myself leaning into it anyways. I slowly started to purr, calming down as I rubbed my head against her hand, delighted at the attention.
"I'm sure he'll warm up to me," I heard Godric mumble, making me tense and growl again as I remembered him.
"Oh he's just a big old love bug. He'll warm up to you. He warmed up to a little night dragon within seconds of knowing him and now they're mates."
"I don't know much about how dragons behave with others, but isn't that a little weird? I thought dragons were supposed to be territorial when other dragons were around," he asked her, frowning. I hissed at him, hunkering down onto her shoulder and glared at him.
"Ross is very territorial but he's also a love bug. I can't wait for you to meet the rest of his hoard."
"HE CAN'T! They're mine! Sera, I don't want him coming home with us," I whined and fluttered my wings. He'll take my things. He'll mess with Sera! We can't trust him at all! HE TRIED TO BITE HER EARLIER! CAN WE JUST TAKE A SECOND TO REMEMBER THAT?! I THINK SERA HIT HER HEAD!
"He's not a dragon Ross. So don't be so upset." Sera rubbed my head before looking straight towards Alfred.
"Alfred, pull over at that hotel so I can get out of this dress. I feel like I'm in a tent."
"A tent? Is the circus back there with you?" Alfred asked.
"There's a tiger back here," she told him.
"Is he blue and roaring?" Alfred asked. I growled then.
"I'm not a tiger," I muttered. I heard Godric laugh a little.
"He certainly is upset," he purred in amusement. I looked towards him and narrowed my eyes before I leapt off Sera's shoulder and landed on his chest, snarling. He yelped and tensed but didn't shove me off, looking down at me. I tensed as he didn't seem that afraid and then hissed, going straight for his nose.
"ROSS!" Sera yelled before grabbing me and pulling me off of him. The vehicle came to a hard stop, throwing us forward and into another seat.
"Red light," Alfred said calmly. "I hope you're buckled up back there." I looked up at Sera and frowned a bit before I relaxed in her grip and curled up to her, giving a small purr.
"I just don't want him to hurt you," I mumbled to her.
"I'm fine," I heard Godric telling Sera softly. "He didn't get my nose."
"He's not going to hurt me Ross." Sera sat up, letting me go as she crawled back into her seat and put on her seat belt. "Now.... Don't hurt him." I looked towards Godric and puffed out smoke in irritation before I crawled onto her shoulder.
"If he hurts you, I'll eat him," I hissed under my breath. Godric laughed then.
"I'm not going to hurt her," he told me. "I promise I won't." I looked at him and snuggled up to her neck.
"I don't know what you're after, but you're not getting it!" I hissed again.
"I know what he's after." She gave a small laugh of amusement. I tensed then. HE IS AFTER SOMETHING! HE'S DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK WITH US. I let out a low growl then.
"What?" I growled, giving Godric a glare. He started to laugh at me then.
"He's after you~" Sera teased whole heartedly. I tensed and then looked towards her.
"That wasn't funny," I told her but couldn't help but laugh a little. I snuggled my body up to the crook of her neck then gave Godric a suspicious look, seeing him looking at Sera curiously. Sera looked Godric over before frowning.
"Godric," she said softly. "How do you know Juliette and Cal?"
"Well... I think I met Juliette once before at another party.... I'm not exactly royalty, but I am a pureblood," he told her and rubbed his chest. "I am very distantly related to royalty, but not enough for me to consider calling myself royalty.... She invited me though, probably because of that party."
"Juliette must have a good memory because we haven't spoken in quiet awhile when I received an invitation to her ball." He nodded.
"Yeah, she really does. Maybe she writes in a diary or something," he suggested and laughed. "It would make more sense." I glanced him over then looked at Sera, wondering why she was so at ease with a stranger.
"Now... You almost let me get carried away," she laughed out. "I shouldn't just steal you away. Do you have work and a home you're needed at? I could drop you off somewhere and you can come visit me in your free time."
"Well, I work as a doctor at a nearby hospital. I thought I'd make some money and earn my own home instead of asking my parents for one," he told her and smiled. "I still live in a fancy apartment though. I haven't gotten the house yet."
"Well I live in a castle owned by my nephew, Kingsley." He nodded.
"I think I've heard of Kingsley," he hummed out. I watched him before I nuzzled my head against Sera's neck, giving her a purr. At least she's calming down with him though. She's going to take him back to where he belongs~ and then I can keep him away from the castle. I cackled at the thought of chasing him away from the castle if he tried to show up.
"You can meet him," she told Godric. "He's a great king. You'll love him."
"Sure, I don't mind meeting him," he told her and smiled a little. "Maybe not tonight though. I'd hate to cause a lot of trips for you, and I'd like to be in a safe place before the sun comes up. I don't like traveling during the day...." Good, we'll get rid of him tonight and wash our hands of this Godric guy.
"That's too bad. I know what... when you're ready... Do you have a phone?"
"Yeah, of course. I have my own car too.... I'll have to go back to retrieve it though," he mumbled and frowned, looking concerned. "I ditched it back there...."
"I wouldn't go back there for a few days," Sera told him. "I'll give you Alfred's number. He's my butler up front. You can call him when you're ready to come visit. We'll set up a way to get you safely to our castle. I'll probably ask a friend of mine to come get you. He's a teleporter. We'll have tea with my nephew and the family. You'll love meeting my adoring nephew's son. He's a ghoul."
"A ghoul?" He asked and whistled at that. "I thought they were practically gone," he told her. "That's pretty cool that you have one living with you. I bet it gets dangerous though." I looked him over before I jumped onto Alfred's seat and snuck onto his shoulder.
"Alfred, why is Sera being so nice to a stranger- open I mean?" I asked him and closed my wings tightly around my body. "I don't like this.... We're not letting him visit."
"You don't approve of her having a friend?" He asked as he started to roll up the window to separate us from them and keep our conversations from bouncing together and being overheard.
"I don't approve of him," I growled then. "He almost bit her earlier!"
"Ross," Alfred said in amusement as the window shut. He pulled the curtain then. "I think Sera found her soul mate." I widened my eyes in shock and looked at him then tensed and let out a sharp growl.
"She's not allowed to have another soul mate! She was mated to my coin," I hissed.
"Think of it as a reincarnation of your coin. That's what he is. There's no telling how young he must be."
"He can't be my coin," I told him and puffed smoke out. "My coin was amazing."
"I'd like to find out more about Godric. Would you like to help me find out who he is?" I looked at him consideringly and then purred.
"Yeah, I'll help you figure him out so we can chase him off~"
"Give him a chance," Alfred warned. "Sera deserves happiness." I watched him then lowered myself a little on his shoulder.
"Yeah... but she doesn't need another mate to be happy. She has me... and my jewel, and you... and eventually little dragon grandbabies... and she had coin awhile ago...."
"You want Sera to be alone and unhappy? With Godric she might be able to have what she's always wanted.... children." I laid my head on his chest then and looked towards the road.
"But... I'm already like her child. She raised me," I mumbled to him. "She raised me with my coin...."
"She'll always love you and Tomas." Alfred looked at me then. "Godric is going to be good for her though. Don't you see it? If he mistreats her then I'll cut him up into little pieces and feed him to you." I watched him then purred.
"You will?" I asked him then nuzzled my head against his shoulder. "He better not mistreat her then because I'll roast him too."
"We'll feed the leftovers to Killian," he laughed out. "I need you to keep an eye on him for a few days. I'll cover for you. Go stalk him and find out who he is." I nodded and purred.
"I'll let him be near her for now until I determine if he's good or not," I told him and nuzzled my head against his neck. "If he's evil, I'll eat him and we'll tell Sera that he was killed by hunters so she doesn't get upset with us."
"We're in agreement then," he said in joy. We pulled into the hotel we had changed at. He parked by the doors and got out, getting the door for Sera. I purred as I looked down at her from his shoulder then looked towards Godric who was giving Sera a smile. I looked him over then flew into the car, landing in his lap and laid down in it. Sera got out of the car while Alfred got her suit case out from in the back for her. They went inside the hotel, leaving us alone. I watched them then looked up at Godric, finding him watching me with a slightly shocked look.
"You're not going in with them?" He asked me.
"No," I told him and laughed.
"Are you planning on eating me while Ms. Sera is gone?" He asked and tilted his head.
"No, not yet," I teased and then sniffed him. "What do you want from Sera?" I asked him, keeping my voice firm.
"I don't want anything from Ms. Sera," he purred at me calmly. "Nothing that you should be worried about. I'm not planning to hurt her if that's what you're asking. I'm not planning to rob her blind either. I don't plan on drinking all her blood and killing her too, so don't worry." I narrowed my eyes and looked up at him. He's still suspicious.... Why would a stranger get in a car with a woman and her dragon and butler? He could be her mate- a reincarnation of my coin, but I don't think coin was that stupid... to get in a car with a stranger.
I growled and started to crawl up his chest then, making him yelp slightly. I got up in his face and puffed smoke at him, satisfied when I heard him cough then moved onto his shoulder and started to smell his neck, searching for a hint of my coin's scent... or anything that would set me off and make me think he was extremely dangerous.
The door to the car shut by itself with a jolt. It had been left open just seconds ago when Sera and Alfred left us. I looked towards the car door with a slight frown and sat up on his shoulder, looking around outside to make sure no one was there then looked at Godric, seeing he was looking at me in awe. I was caught off guard by it, looking at him then saw his hand moving up to pet me again. I tensed and let out a sharp growl, looking towards his hand and shrunk back from it.
He gave me a small smile and slowly put his hand on my head then started to rub it before I could pull back and run off. "You're really pretty," he told me and gave me a kind smile. I looked up at him and towards his hand, feeling my heart racing a little. He started to rub under my chin then before I could think to get him to stop, making me melt against him with a loud purr.
I nuzzled my head into his hand quickly, moving my wings a bit as I tried to get closer to his hand more and worked my way onto it. He laughed and cradled me to his chest then, starting to rub my chin with his other hand as I closed my eyes in pleasure and lost myself in the amazing feeling. I purred and started to rub my scent onto his hand then gnawed gently on one of his fingers, making him laugh as he let me and continued to pet me. "You're not so bad, are you?" He purred to me then hit my favorite spot. I moaned a bit and quickly went limp in his hands, letting him rub there as I stretched my neck out more, begging to be petted. Alfred opened the door and I heard a small gasp from Sera.
"Oh good! You boys are getting along." Sera had changed into a puffy white button up shirt with a red and black checkerboard vest over it along with black leather jeans and matching converse. She sat down next to us as Alfred closed the door for her. He stopped then and looked towards her.
"Yeah~ You're right about him being a love bug. He practically melted all over me when I managed to get him to let me pet him," he purred happily, his eyes shining in excitement. I looked towards his hand that stopped and growled a little, nipping at it to get his attention. You can't stop like that! He yelped and looked at me before he laughed and petted me some more.
"So where can we take you off to?" Sera asked him sweetly. He looked up at her and then gave a smile.
"It's only a few blocks away." He looked towards Alfred in the front seat and leaned in, telling him the address. I listened in and managed to catch a little before I purred in amusement and leapt onto Sera. I went up to her shoulder then licked her cheek before I laid down and closed my eyes. I started to let my chest build up flames in it to heat her shoulder up and warm her. She looked towards me before placing me down into her lap and rubbed my head. I purred to her and rubbed against her hand before I curled up and yawned. Godric laughed a little as he saw me then leaned over and ran his fingers down my spine, petting me. I looked towards his hand then nipped at it a little before I played with his fingers. He smirked and then rubbed my stomach, making me roll over onto my back.
"We're here," I heard Alfred say from the front. The vehicle came to a sudden stop. I whined, watching as Godric's hand pulled away from me. He looked towards Sera and gave her a small smile before he took her hand and gave it a small kiss.
"It was lovely meeting you Sera," he told her and purred. "I'll have to call on you sometime...."
"You'll have to visit," Sera told him sweetly. He nodded before he pulled back and got out of the car. I sat up quickly, looking out of the window as he started to walk towards a house and whined.
"Sera! He's leaving! He won't be able to pet me!" I ran up to the window and pounced on it, looking out as I saw him glance back at the car and give us a smile before he waved and disappeared into the house. "He's getting away!"
"He'll come visit us," Sera purred in amusement. "Don't worry.. he will."
"NO! Sera! Go get him! He has to pet me!" I don't ever get petted enough!
"I can pet you. Silly." She grabbed me and started to rub my head. "Let's go home." Alfred started to drive away now. I let out a sharp whine and squirmed a little, looking behind her at the house as we drove away from it. I looked up at Sera and pouted.
"But Sera!" I complained, feeling nervous about leaving Godric behind. He's mine! No other dragon can get petted by him like he petted me! If another dragon finds him, they'll take him from me before I can put him in my hoard!
"He has a life he can't just drop. He's a doctor."
"It doesn't matter! He can become the hoard's doctor! A hospital can be fine with one less doctor! TURN THE CAR AROUND!" I begged, fluttering my wings.
"He'll visit us," Sera told me sweetly. I growled.
"Another dragon will find him and take him before I can put him where he can pet me all the time!" I hissed. "They'll smell he's a pureblood and snatch him up!"
"You think dragons are attracted to pureblood vampires?" She asked curiously.
"W-well..." I thought about it and looked at her then. "I mean, we like symbols of power.... If we have a lot of purebloods under our control, we look powerful," I told her and purred then. "I let a lot of purebloods join my hoard- like my jewel~"
"So if dragons were suddenly to come here, the purebloods would be snatched up?" Sera asked.
"Maybe," I told her and nuzzled my head against her hand. "If they're bad dragons that only want power and control, then they might take purebloods and put them in their hoards.... It depends on the dragon~ They steal Artic dragons to put in their hoards for power. I wouldn't put it past a dragon to take a pureblood."
"Well they'd have to come here to get one," Sera said. "If they find out about what's over here.... more representations of power."
"They would come and try to take purebloods probably if they knew about what all is here.... I mean, they try to take Hesper," I purred to her and looked up at her. "You're safe though. You're under my protection~"
"Hesper is just attractive in general. I think it might be his power instead of the jewelry... but no one can get him to take it off."
"No... he needs to either stay in my hoard, under heavy protection, or get a baby dragon to raise for his safety," I told her, thinking it over. "He might be suddenly stolen away if he doesn't."
"We'll have to convince him to never leave the nest," she said in amusement.
"He's mine anyways~" I told her and nuzzled my head against her hand before I looked towards Alfred, thinking about pouncing at him. She rubbed my head and reached under my chin, getting me good there, convincing me to stay with her.
