Dmitri's POV:
I looked towards the egg as it was hatching with wide eyes, biting my lower lip as my sister hugged me, holding me down. I had tried to pick the egg up so many times already and she kept scolding me, telling me not to mess with it because I might hurt it. My eggy~ Excitement coursed through me as I tapped my fingers against my legs, counting the seconds as I heard my dragon working it's way out to me. Would it love me? Would it recognize me? What if I left it alone too long at the mansion?! I watched as one claw managed to get through it's egg shell for the first time, cracking it with it's sharp talon. I gasped and widened my eyes, a purr escaping me as I rushed forward but she yanked me back, making me sit. I heard it starting to cry a little and suddenly sneezed. Black smoke flew out of the hole as it's talon drew back inside. I whimpered and looked towards Eva. "Lemme go," I complained and then pulled away, rushing up to my egg and knelt beside it. "Eggy~" I heard my little dragon sneeze again before it's tiny teeth appeared through the hole as it started to gnaw at the egg instead. I laughed and then looked at the snout, wondering what the rest of my dragon looked like. Was it a girl? A boy? Was it pretty?! WOULD IT LOVE ME?! It managed to bite a piece off then spit it out of the egg. I heard it moving around then and the egg fell over onto the hole. I heard it sneeze again and let out a growl. I bit my bottom lip and bounced a little, watching it eagerly. WHAT AM I GONNA NAME IT?! I heard Eva giggling at me.
The egg rolled back over and my dragon crashed it's head against the hole, breaking it open and appearing to me. My cute little dragon had dark scales reminding me of the night sky if there wasn't any stars. The dragon sneezed again, snot running down it's nose and dropping on the ground. It looked up at me then and gave me a smile, looking excited to meet me then sniffed the snot back in. I bit my bottom lip to keep from laughing at it then reached out a hand towards it, holding it in front of it's face as I watched it curiously. Would it try to bite me or smell me? It leaned over and licked my fingers then looked towards the shell and started to eat at it, breaking the shell to get it large enough to fit it's body through. I smiled as it could now get out instead of just sticking it's head out and pulled my hand back, watching it. Cutie. It walked out quickly from the egg then turned around and hissed at it before running into my hand. I laughed and picked it up, pulling it up to my chest. "It's just your egg," I purred softly. "It's not a prison." My dragon looked towards one of my fingers and bit down on it, starting to suck on it. I blushed then and started to get up, biting my lower lip to keep from making a sound as I walked up to the door and then started to kick at it. "HEEEEY! MY DRAGON HATCHED! I WANT OUT!" I screamed.
"Sorry dude, you know the rules," I heard my guard saying.
"My dragon is hungry," I whined.
"Fine, let me text King Silas," he hummed out. I glared at the door then, earning a giggle from Eva. "He says that he forgot that he locked you down here and you can go upstairs with your sister but you have to be watched." The door opened then and I widened my eyes. I can go upstairs now? I smirked and then looked towards Eva as she quickly followed me out. I began to carry my dragon upstairs, avoiding the slight sunlight coming in the windows up there as I headed for the kitchen. The dragon crawled up my shirt quickly then and got on my shoulder, looking around as I carried it then started to nip at my ear, biting it quickly and started to suck on it. I yelped and then laughed as it tickled. The guard helped us to the kitchen, looking bored. I smiled and then sat the dragon down on the counter before I walked over to the fridge to find some meat or something to give it. I heard my dragon start to cry then and run across the counter, coming for me. I laughed and watched it before I purred at it then leaned in and kissed it's head.
"Give me a moment," I purred to it then went back to searching in the refrigerator. I felt it jump onto me then and crawl back onto my shoulder, nuzzling it's head against me. I laughed and looked towards the dragon. "Hey~ You could've gotten hurt," I whispered and then grabbed a small steak out of the refrigerator and held it up to the dragon, seeing if it wanted it the way it was. I might need to grind it up... or cook it- probably not cook it. It leaned in and sniffed it then pulled it's head back and shook it's head then jumped into the fridge and sniffed around before going for the jug of milk. I frowned a little then put the steak back. Baby dragons drink milk? That doesn't exactly make sense... but okay.
I grabbed the milk and then sat it on the counter before I reached for it. The dragon jumped onto me then and jumped back onto the counter, shivering from the fridge. I laughed and shut the door before I started to search around for a baby bottle or a saucer if I couldn't find a bottle. I smiled as I found a bottle and then started to heat up some milk, putting it into the bottle when it was done. I tested it on my wrist and smiled in satisfaction when it was warm but not too warm to burn my wrist. I walked up to the baby dragon as I slipped the jug back into the refrigerator then held the bottle up towards it's mouth. It sniffed the bottle then looked towards me and jumped onto me, climbing up to my shoulder.
I laughed and then looked towards it. "Come here," I purred and then picked it up off my shoulder and held the bottle back to it's lips, trying to get it to take to it like it did my finger. It looked towards the bottle before sniffing it one more time and opened it's mouth. I smiled and then edged the nipple of the bottle into it's mouth, hoping it'd pick up on what it needed to do quickly. I watched as it started to suck quickly and closed it's eyes. It's talons scratched at the bottle then. I smiled and then sat down on the counter as I held it to my chest and fed it. "Good dragon," I whispered to it and then watched it curiously. I'll need to check it's gender soon so I can name it... It started to gnaw at the nipple then and suddenly milk broke out and poured everywhere. I yelped and frowned then. "That's not good...." I sighed as the milk spilled all over us then started to get up, finding a towel and cleaning up the mess. I heard it start to cry then and whined at me.
"Don't rip it open then," I told it and laughed. I guess I could find another nipple somewhere. I started to search for one and began to redo the process again to try to feed the dragon. When I got the temperature right and the replacement nipple back on, I held the dragon close to my chest again and held the bottle to it. It started to suck on the nipple again, letting out a purr of satisfaction. I laughed and got back on the counter as I fed it, purring to it softly. It certainly learns fast.
After a few minutes my dragon had the bottle emptied and climbed up onto my shoulder, curling up there. I smiled towards it and sat the bottle down before I picked it up again, holding it in my hands before I slowly turned it over, trying to see what gender it was. It growled and suddenly burped in my hands. I could tell quickly I had a male dragon. I smiled and then laughed.
"Are you growling at me?" I teased. He shook his head and bit down into my hand. I yelped and accidentally dropped it in shock. I widened my eyes. NO! I quickly reached to catch it before it could hit the ground and held it close to me as my hands managed to get him back. He squirmed out of my hands and got onto my shoulder, growling at my hands quickly then slipped under my shirt. I yelped and blushed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to almost drop you," I mumbled to it. I hope he doesn't claw me up. The guard looked at me and then smirked.
"Silas has gotten a room prepared for you and your sister upstairs with the rest. Come along," he ordered and started walking towards the door. Eva quickly followed him, smiling huge as she bounced happily. I sighed and started to follow them. I felt him move out from under my shirt and move over to my other shoulder before jumping onto my sister's back and hissed to protect me. She shrieked and started to run away. I heard him growling and hisses towards her then jumped back for me, falling to the floor since he couldn't jump that far. I saw the guard taking off after my sister as she kept running.
"HEY! YOU'RE GOING TO GET ME FIRED!" He yelled at her, leaving me behind. I frowned and then watched my dragon as I stopped in my path. He ran up to my feet than and crawled back up to my shoulder and purred. I laughed and looked towards him.
"You just chased my sister off," I told him and then smirked. "What did she do to deserve that?" He gave me an innocent look then started to play with my hair, starting to mess it up. I laughed and then walked towards the door, leaving the room as I started going for the stairs. I think I can find where I'm supposed to be by myself. He got serious then as we began to move then fluttered it's wings, looking ready to test them out. He opened them as I kept walking and fluttered them a little. I watched him curiously as I walked a bit slower to make sure he wouldn't fall off. He watched me and stopped fluttering his wings. He then turned his head sharply as a maid appeared at the top of the stairs. He growled viciously at her, ready to protect me. I grabbed him quickly, holding him back. "Nuh uh, she's okay," I told him and purred comfortingly to him as I walked past the maid. He watched her, keeping his eyes on her until she was out of sight then bit my fingers. I yelped and held onto him this time.
"Why do you keep biting me?" I groaned. He growled at my fingers and looked angry at them. I frowned and then walked into a bedroom, smelling that maids were here recently. I went over to the made up bed and sat the dragon down on it, watching. He jumped back onto my shoulder and looked around, sniffling the air. I frowned a little then sat down on the bed myself and kicked my shoes off. I sat him back down on the bed and started to pull my shirt off and pants, planning on sleeping in my boxers. He watched my clothes then looked at my skin in confusion before attacking my clothes. I laughed and watched him curiously. What? Does he think I was a prisoner? He started to shred them then with his teeth and talons. I widened my eyes and yanked my clothes away from him, throwing them into the floor away from him.
"Bad boy," I told him quickly and pointed a finger at him. He looked towards my finger and growled at it, puffing his back up like a cat before attacking it. I shrieked and got up quickly, rushing for the bathroom to get away from him. WHY DOES HE KEEP BITING ME?! I heard him attacking my clothes again, a hard thump when he hit them. I heard him roar then at them. HOLY CRAP! I DIDN'T THINK HE'D BE SO FREAKING SCARY FOR A LITTLE GUY! I ran into the bathroom and quickly shut the door behind me, taking deep breaths. Oh my lord... I'm not going to have clothes out there anymore.... I heard him settle when the door shut. His growls silenced. I heard him cry then like he noticed I left him. He started for the bathroom door then, calling for me. I blushed and then looked at the door. Should I open it, or is he just going to attack me again? I started to smell smoke then. NO! He's going to burn the place down!
I yelped and opened the door quickly, panicking. There was a small fire forming on the door already and he was about to blow another fire ball at the door. "NO!" I yelped and then quickly started trying to put the fire out with a towel on the counter, patting it out. I heard him growl at me and jump up onto my shoulder. He purred as soon as he was on me and nuzzled against me. I blushed and looked towards him in confusion but relaxed after seeing he wasn't eating me. I sighed and then started walking to the bed and laid down in it, pulling the blankets around me. He slipped off my shoulder then laid down on the pillow right by my head. I heard him let out a yawn and curled up. I looked towards him and smiled, starting to pet his head as I turned to face him.
"Cutie," I murmured to him. "You need a name soon...." He looked into my eyes then and gave me a longing look. He slipped up under the covers then, climbing up onto my chest and curled his body there. I laughed and then moved the covers back enough to reveal his head and watched him before I kissed the top of his head. "I'll think of one for you and tell you your name when I have it." He watched me and blinked sleepily. I purred to him then slipped the covers back over his head, deciding to let it be real warm for him. He's probably like that. I can't get near as warm as his real mommy, but I can do my best to create warmer conditions for him. I sighed softly and started to close my eyes, smiling happily. My baby dragon is hatched~ I'll have a name tomorrow.
~~~
I felt something tugging on my hair, waking me from my slumber. I could feel it was just dusk out. I heard a small growl and a hungry cry from my baby dragon. I groaned and opened my eyes, looking towards him then slowly sat up. He crawled around to get in front of me then started for my feet and attacked them. I yelped and got up quickly. "Alright, alright!" I told him and then frowned, heading for the closet. "Let me get some clothes," I told him and then went in, getting some sweatpants and a t-shirt that they had put in there. I got dressed and then walked back out to my dragon, getting close so he could jump up on me. He jumped onto me, clinging to my clothes before climbing up onto my shoulder. He gave me a mad look, probably for my disappearance. I smiled at him innocently. "Let's go get you some food."
I quickly took him down to the kitchen and sat him on the counter, getting the bottle back and then heated him up some milk and began to feed him in my arms again. He sucked on the bottle, draining it within five minutes. He was really hungry this time. He pulled back from the bottle and licked his lips. I watched him then smiled. "More?" I asked and rubbed his head with my thumb. He looked towards my thumb before licking it. He crawled up onto my shoulder and sniffed the air before looking at the fridge. I laughed and walked back over to it, getting the milk back out and making him another warm bottle. I left the milk out this time just incase as I pulled him back into my arms and started trying to feed him again. He sniffed the bottle before growling at it and looked back at the fridge. I frowned and sat the bottle down, opening the fridge back up to see what he wanted. Maybe he wanted steak? I grabbed the steak from earlier and held it back to him to see if it was what he wanted. He growled at it and spit a fire ball at it. I frowned as it was instantly charred then looked at him. "I'm going to get you," I told him and smirked. "I'll pick some really weird name for you if you don't quit it little spit fire."
He looked at the fridge and licked his lips. I sat him inside it then and thought about messing with him but didn't. He sniffed around inside, throwing what he didn't like out. He came across an orange and looked at it curiously before playing with it like it was a ball. He's not hungry.... He's bored. I sighed and started to put what he had thrown out of the refrigerator back into it and reached for him, picking him and his orange up then closed the door and sat him in the floor with it. He growled with anger and looked towards the fridge before spitting a fire ball at it then look at me, about to fire me up to. I shrieked and took off to the other side of the kitchen, rushing for the door. NOOOO! I DON'T WANT TO BE CHARCOAL! He chased after me, calling me back to him. I ran out and quickly shut the door behind me, falling flat on my face in exhaustion. I could hear him spitting at the door, smoke starting to come out of the bottom.
Whelp... there goes the kitchen. I slowly sat up and looked towards the door before I began to walk away, whistling. I heard him calling for me after a minute, his whining picking up. I frowned and then sighed, walking back. Why is he so destructive?! I opened the door slowly, being cautious because I knew it was on fire. He ran out quickly, taking one of my shoe laces with him. I yelped and quickly shut the door, looking towards him as a butler ran up and then went in with a fire extinguisher. He growled towards the butler, going back in to attack him for coming near me. I scooped him up quickly and then hissed at him, trying to get him to stop. He puffed a smoke ball at me and looked away. Huh... hissing works? I watched him then started to carry him away. Some time outside might do him good.
I walked outside and sat him down in the garden, walking over to a bench and sat down. He looked around curiously, sniffing the air. He looked excited as he ran for a patch of flowers, attacking them quickly. I watched him then laid down on the bench, sighing. At least out here he can be destructive and it won't harm anything too valuable. I can get some peace out here.... He came up to me with a flower and jumped up into my lap then held it up for me. I laughed and then took it from him, sitting up. I looked at him then at his offering and smiled, smelling it. "Thank you," I purred to him then leaned down and kissed the top of his head. "It's pretty." He gave it to me before bouncing off, going after a butterfly that flew too close. I sighed and watched him, letting him this time. At least it wasn't a human... or another vampire.... He came back after it left us alone. He growled towards my clothes then. I yelped and quickly pulled my legs up to me, blushing. I need my clothes darn it! He looked amused at me and ran off for another flower patch. I bit my bottom lip and relaxed slowly, putting my feet back on the ground and then sighed. It's okay.... He ran off. He stayed away for a good thirty minutes before coming for me with a dead rabbit in his mouth. He brought it up to my lap and gave it to me. I widened my eyes and yelped, about to push it out of my lap. HE KILLED A RABBIT! He growled at my hands and looked angry I wasn't taking the offering. I widened my eyes and then laughed nervously.
"T-thanks~ I always wanted a rabbit," I said quickly and pulled the corpse closer to me. AHHHHH! He gave me a funny look then before looking like he expected me to eat it. Oh my lord. I gagged and then went to push it out of my lap again. He growled at my hands and fluttered his wings, going to attack me. I yelped and was on my feet quickly, the rabbit falling to the ground as I started to run. I heard him calling me back to him then. A small whine escaped his lips. I blushed and then looked back at him then stopped. Damn it.... I walked back over, not wanting him to cry. He got excited as I started back for him. He jumped down into the ground and came after me. I knelt down for him and laughed then. Cutie~! I smiled happily, letting him come to me. He jumped up to my shoulder and laid down on it. I laughed and started to rub his head then ran my fingers down his spine between his wings. He let out a purr and started to play with my hair again. I laughed and kissed his head again. "Cutie," I purred to him. "You're so worth it~" He got my ear again, starting to suck on it. I blushed and bit my bottom lip to keep from making a noise, trying to just purr to him. He pulled away from my ear and stretched out his wings. I looked towards them curiously then gently touched one, running my fingers across it. He ran across to my other shoulder quickly. I laughed and watched him. "What? Don't like me touching your wings?" I teased him then got to my feet slowly and walked back over to his dead rabbit and picked it up. I'll give this to the maids.... He jumped up onto my head and glanced around. I widened my eyes as I did my best to stay still, not wanting him to dig his talons in to stay on me. He got back down onto my other shoulder and sniffed the air. He looked around, making sure no one was near us.
I watched him then started walking back towards the castle to take his rabbit to a maid. When we came across one he was easy to jump for her, growling. I yelped and tossed her the rabbit then went for him. "No! Don't growl at her!" I scolded then frowned, starting to make a hissing noise at him to let him know I wasn't happy. He growled back at me before giving her a pissed look. He crawled up onto my shoulder, keeping his eyes on her. She slowly backed away, eyes wide as she held onto the rabbit then took off running. He looked at me then, not happy with me either since I gave her the rabbit. I blushed and looked at him.
"What? I'm not eating it unless it's cooked," I told him then smirked, pulling him into my hands and then started to tickle his sides with my free hand. He struggled in my hands, letting out a hiss like I done. I frowned at him and then stopped, holding him still then pulled him up towards my face. "You know... I think I like the name Toma.... That'll be your name." He looked me over and let out a playful growl. I laughed and kissed his nose to mess with him. He looked puzzled then, giving me a funny look. I watched him then and frowned. "What?" He spit a smoke ball at me then. I coughed and then sneezed, frowning at him. "Toma," I whined and then held him away from my face quickly. He licked my fingers and let out a satisfied noise. I watched him and frowned. "You just didn't like being close to my face." I narrowed my eyes slightly then sighed, walking as I carried him a little ways away from my body. He squirmed in my hands, starting to go on high alert as he heard someone talking down the hall. I frowned and held him a little closer then hid him in my shirt so he couldn't see. I heard growls in my shirt and suddenly it caught on fire. I shrieked and dropped him, ripping my shirt off and throwing it.
"TOMA! YOU SET MY SHIRT ON FIRE!" I screamed at him then glared at him as my skin felt hot. I narrowed my eyes at him then and stomped my shirt out before it could cause the rest of the place to catch on fire. He cackled as he watched me. "You're not sleeping next to my head or my chest tonight," I told him and glared him down then slowly started to walk so he could walk by my feet. He ran up to my feet and caught a ride on them. I sighed as I let him and started to walk, avoiding the people talking then went up some stairs, planning on putting him to bed. I need to make a little nest area in my room for him. I caught the scent of a Rosario at the top of the stairs. Toma took off up the stairs, giving a growl as he charged the person. I widened my eyes and quickly looked up to see which one it was, debating on catching him or running for my life. I caught sight of the youngest Rosario brother though. He frowned as he caught sight of Toma coming for him. He reached down to catch him, waiting for him to come. Toma stopped as he noticed he wasn't running from him and backed away, coming back to me.
"Oh, now you're scared," I mumbled and watched him. "Alright, come here," I purred and picked him up, placing him on my shoulder.
"He's so cute. So that's the little guy?" Sylar asked me and stood up. "He's been making a mess, that's what the servants are telling me." Toma settled down on my shoulders.
"Yeah, he has a temper," I whispered to him and nervously shifted. "He set my shirt on fire a few minutes ago...."
"Do you need a new shirt?" Sylar asked. "You know there are some herbs that you can slip in his milk to prevent him from using his flames at such a young age. I read about it before." I widened my eyes.
"Oh my lord, please," I begged him.
"Yeah, okay. Go put on a new shirt and meet me in the kitchen." Sylar slipped past us then. Toma growled after he was by us and got back up in a protective matter. I smirked towards him and took him up to my room, setting him down on the bed then went for the closet again to get a new shirt, picking out a plain white one I was okay with losing. I walked back out to him and scooped him up.
"Come on Toma," I purred to him, kissing the top of his head as I walked towards the door. Let's get that spit fire under control. He got back on top of my shoulder and looked around, making sure I was protected. I smiled at him and rubbed his head then between his wings as I took him down to the kitchen then up to Sylar. "Alright, let's see how to do this," I whispered. Toma jumped onto one of the counters and started to sniff around it, going for a sugar jar.
"Okay, the best way to do it is in a pot together," he told me and got out a bottle of milk for me, handing it over as he went to our herb cabinet. He started to look around in it for something. "Let's see.... It's in here somewhere...." I watched him then looked at Toma, snatching him back up before he could get into the sugar. He growled in anger and spit a ball of fire towards my shirt. I yelped and patted it out quickly and held him tightly, trying not to run off this time.
"The best thing to do is to also make sure you're the dominate one." Sylar told me. "Don't run off when he's mad at you and make sure to let him know you're upset at him." He pulled out a jar of a herb then. "This stuff is from the dragon realm. It's been hand picked by wizards and traded to our family. Mother dragons feed it to their young so that way the whole nest doesn't burn up when the hatchlings are playing and get mad at each other. We call this stuff D-T. It stands for Dragon Tamer. Bland isn't it?" He chuckled. "Heat this up on the stove with the milk, stir it well okay? Don't let it all collide down at the bottom." I nodded and took some from him then started to do as he told me, taking great care after I set Toma back on the counter away from the sugar. Soon enough he won't be spitting fire at me and he'll wonder where it went. I smirked a little and glanced at him then looked back towards the milk I was making him.
"Oh, you should also feed him fish, that's important to feed them. They love fish. He might be grouchy because he hasn't had any." I frowned and looked at Sylar.
"Is there fish in the refrigerator?" I asked curiously. "He got pissy when I took him out of the fridge."
"Yeah, but since he's young you should feed him cans of tuna." I nodded and watched Toma as I got the milk heated up then looked towards Sylar for more instructions.
"Didn't you take time to research this?" Sylar asked me.
"I... did... for a little while but I never ran across this... and I knew about the fish, but I was trying to get him to eat steak," I told him softly.
"They're not steak eaters. That's a wolf thing." He laughed then. "You might be able to slip beef in his meal if you feed him lamb." I nodded and started to pour the milk back into the bottle and then scooped Toma up again as I put the nipple back on the bottle and tested it on my wrist. Good thing it's not too hot. I looked towards Toma and then went to feed him. He looked at the bottle and dodged it. He looked at the stove, knowing something was up. I smirked at him. Smart dragon. I put some of the milk on my finger then rubbed it on his lips, trying to get him hungry. He licked my finger before going for the bottle with hunger and started to drink it down but stopped a quarter of the way and yanked back. He stared at it, knowing it had a different taste to it. I smirked at him then and rubbed his side, trying to see if he could still spit fire. He gave me a mad look then and squirmed in my arms. Sylar walked up to watch. I tilted my head and sat the bottle down then started to tickle Toma's sides again, laughing.
"You're not going to try to spit fire at me?" I teased him. He snarled at my fingers and went to spit fire, smoke coming out instead. He gave a confused look and looked towards the bottle and glared it down. I smirked and stopped tickling him. "Hmm... you don't need to drink it all, do you?" I laughed a little then gently rubbed his head, trying to calm him down. He got upset with me and jumped out of my hands, attacking the bottle and knocked it into the floor. He went for the pot on the stove. I frowned and then hissed at him, watching him. "Don't you do it," I warned. He went for it anyways, pouncing and knocking it over. He yelped as his paws hit the hot stove. He moved off it quickly and ran from it, going back for me. I sighed and picked him up. "I told you not to," I mumbled to him then took him to the sink and cut on the water to run his burns under.
"If he gets hurt you can always feed him a little tiny bit of your blood.... but you'll have to mix it with something he eats. He won't drink it otherwise." Sylar started to clean up the mess.
"Alright... I'll remember that... but I highly doubt he'd drink any milk I give him till he's hungry again," I told him and then held his paws under the cold water.
"Hey, fill the sink up with water and let him play in it." Sylar suggested. I looked at Toma curiously then closed up the drains, turning on a little hot water to make it luke warm then placed him down in it as it began to fill. "Now place a pinch of your blood in the water." I obeyed, digging my nail into one of my fingers then squeezed it till a few drips landed in the water with him. He looked up at me before looking at my wound I made and was licking it quickly with concern on his face. I blushed then and smiled.
"Toma," I whispered and leaned against the counter, starting to rub his head with a loving purr as I let him have my wound.
"See, you just learned a way to trick him." Sylar purred. "Now give him some bubbles for behaving." I nodded and then grabbed a little bit of Dawn and put some in there with him then moved the water around to help it bubble faster. I turned off the water when I thought he might be in danger with anymore and then purred to him as I started to rub his body, cleaning him in the water. He looked towards the water and at the bubbles and started to play in it, moving around quickly and went under the water. I laughed and watched him then pulled away to go find him some tuna, getting some out of the pantry then opened the can up and started to prepare him some on a saucer to feed him when he was done.
Toma placed his head on the edge of the sink, watching me with interest. He called out to me quickly. His eyes flashed to the tuna as he caught the smell of it and looked ready to jump me. Toma crawled out of the sink, standing of the the edge of the counter. If he tried jumping to me, he'd end up in the floor. Sylar walked up to him and placed a hand towel over him then drained the sink. I noticed he was now able to stand, probably healed after his accident.
"Bet he'll never stand on a stove top again," Sylar laughed out. Toma let out a growl towards the towel, getting distracted by it and started to shred it to get out from under it. He sort of reminded me of a raptor squeezing it's head through a fence to try to get at a human. "Toma," Sylar warned him. "Don't shred up the hand towels, your father is going to be upset at you." Toma spit a smoke ball towards Sylar and looked agitated immediately. Sylar looked at me then. "Oh I just remembered, we have something else that will help you in the cabinet." He walked up to it and reached inside, pulling out a bottle. Toma managed to get away from the towel and hung on the edge of the counter, debating about trying to jump to me. He called out to me quickly when he knew the leap wasn't for him just yet. Sylar walked up to me and opened the bottle up.
"This is catnip. Dragons are sort of like cats, big cats. This stuff will make any angry dragon calm and relax with a huge smile on it's face. You can give him a pinch of this to play with when he's angry, hard to handle, or misbehaving. You should keep this on you at all times. I should warn you though that older dragons get too happy from this and it'll drive them to want to mate so make sure you don't give this to him when he's older because it won't work. Trust me, you don't want to see a dragon in his mating season. That's where a typical dragon is depicted. Hoards of treasure, possessiveness, dominance, fire, massive size, a huge bed to go with it, and of course he'll want a perfect mate to be with his perfect hoard of treasure. Right now you're just someone he wants to protect because he saw you first. You better hope he never picks you for his mate," he teased me and rubbed my head. "I wouldn't want a dragon for a mate. Dragons hoard their mates away far away from anyone to protect it. You think his temper is bad now when others get around you..." He laughed.
"-But, it's good that you tell anyone that approaches they can't show him fear, because if they do then he thinks he's won the game of scary. When he saw I wasn't afraid he got afraid of me. It's better to keep him afraid of you then you afraid of him, as bad as that sounds. He needs strict authority as a baby so he doesn't warn people away from you his whole life.... and dragons live for a very long time Dmitri and protect someone for a very long time." Toma got a running start ready and ran off the edge of the counter, jumping for me. He landed just a few feet from me with a heavy thud. Sylar looked towards him and laughed before slipping the bottle of catnip into my pocket after closing it. Toma ran up to me and ran up my body, going for the tuna and attacked it hungrily. His body clung to my arm as he finished off the saucer with just a few big bites.
"If he doesn't continue drinking the milk with herbs you can put a dash of sugar or your blood in the mix for him. Dragons like sugar but don't give him too much. You also need to wake up halfway through the day for now on just to feed him. Dragons can't sleep all day like us and only fed and play at night. He'll need to be fed during the day as a baby. I'm going to have the servants assist you on getting your room suited for him as well. That way if he wakes up during the day, wanting to play, he can hand something to do instead of bug you until he gets hungry. We'll put cat towers in there and those cool wall designs for cats. He'll like those. We can basically satisfy him right now with cat products because he's so small and just a baby. When he starts growing we'll have to customize things for him... But since dragons live long, their aging process is different and he'll be a baby for a few years. That's actually a good thing Dmitri." I bit my bottom lip and nodded, taking everything he said in as I watched Toma clinging to my arms.
"Okay," I whispered. He's only going to be a baby for a few years? Then he'll go on and find a mate too.... I sighed softly and then smiled. "I'll make sure to remember all that." I put the saucer down then held Toma close to me. So he might leave me huh? I guess that's alright. I'll still be the one that raised him. "You're so cute," I purred to him then held him against my chest, looking towards Sylar. "Thanks for all the tips~" Toma growled at my hands and bit down into one of them. I yelped and then looked towards him with a frown, walking over to the counters. I sat him down on them and started to walk back to the safe distance. He jumped onto my shoulder and roared towards Sylar. I frowned and looked at him then rubbed his head. "Don't be mean," I told him. He hissed at me before crawling up onto my head and started to chew on it. I yelped and then picked him up again, setting him on the counter and quickly walked out of his jumping distance. He growled and started to turn around, stalking towards the sugar jar. I widened my eyes and ran over to him, stopping him then rubbing between his wings to try to get him to stop. He gave me a playful look and jumped at me, letting out another roar.
I laughed and then playfully did my best imitation roar back at him. He clung to my shirt and gave me a funny look. I laughed and then growled playfully at him, smirking. He growled back at me, looking offended. Whoops. I purred to him then and nuzzled my head against his. He crawled up to my shoulder and let out a small purr to me. I smiled and then looked him over curiously, wondering where he liked being rubbed the best then began to experiment, rubbing his head first. He nuzzled his head into my hand then and puffed smoke towards my face. Good thing he can't breathe fire at me.... I smirked and then moved my hand down to his chin, getting under it good. He collapsed on me, letting out a loud purr and rolled off, starting to fall to the ground. I yelped and caught him quickly then smiled, laughing at him.
"So there?" I purred to him then sat him down on the counter and continued to rub under his chin. He pulled away from my hand and slipped under my shirt, rubbing his head against my chest. I blushed and looked towards him then smiled, purring softly to him then scooped him up, holding him through my shirt. I heard someone coming into the kitchen then and Charles paused in the doorway, glaring me down. Toma got out from under my shirt, hissing towards him and jumped off the counter, going for him. I glared at Charles then exposed my fangs at him, hissing. Bastard! He's here!
