A white flag stood by the base. A white flag meant defeat, an embarrassment, a fault. Soldiers lay by the ground, maybe because of exhaustion, wounds or maybe death.
"M-mommy? D-daddy?" cried the little girl holding a rag doll. She was trying to find her parents while walking slowly around their town that served as the battle field of the war.
War was constant in the region. The kingdom was in chaos. The monarchy crumbled to dust. Even the queen's location is unknown.
"All Units. Proceed to the town. Find her and do not stop until you do!" a woman shouted. Tiredness was evident on her face that she was exposing the exhaustion oozing from her patina
"Yes, my lady!"
The woman who shouted was wearing white cloth. She was glowing and floating in mid air. The soldiers obeyed her without hesitations which indicated that she has a position in court. The perks of having a disciplined country.
The little girl had hope—to have her parents by her side again. She thought that the lady in white can find her lost parents.
"P-please. Please help me find my parents!" she shouted. Her voice was faltering because of the excessive crying.
The soldiers ran to her. She thought that they heard her voice so she ran towards them—to ask for help, to ask for assistance, to try and persuade them.
"Help! Help me please!" she exclaimed. Her voice was regaining sound, but it was not enough for her to be heard.
Her eyes widened as the soldiers ran past her. She stopped so they won't collide and create impact that may cause her to fly.
The soldiers created a stampede. She was about to escape when her rag doll fell. She looked back at it. She knew she can't lose the doll. It had a sentimental value.
She was about to pick it up when a soldier accidentally kicked her. She felt a pang of pain on her abdomen. Time began to slow down. She was about to fall when the lady in white caught her hand.
Her eyes glowed upon touching me. Atleast, that's what I remember about her.
