Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Rebirth

Inside a bedroom where a young man was sleeping in the massive sized bed which could easily fit more than five people. He seems to be in pain and struggled to even open his eyes. Beside him was a beautiful woman dressed as maid who looked very worried. The room was filled with glittering items and lavish yet useless things, most of the items were made up of gold or some expensive ores.

The maid prayed to the gods so the God her lord can survive and shortly after a man entered the room. He was dressed as priest and when the maid saw the priest she shouted, "Please save him."

The priest was displeased by her behavior but when he looked at her face, and her body his displeased expression changed.

The priest approached the maid with a lewd expression and held her hand, "Don't worry I will save him." The maid was angered and disgusted by his action, but she didn't show her anger in fear of angering the priest.

The priest smiled lewdly and looked at the young man who was struggling. The Priest started chanting and an aura of light covered the body of the young man. The light aura made the young man feel comfortable, but after a short time the aura slowly faded, and the young man continued to feel to pain. The priest was little disappointed and turned towards the maid, "I am afraid no one can save him" and tried to touch her but the maid rushed towards the young man ignoring the priest.

The priest was very angry but watching the maid care for a man who was in his death bed made him smirk. He left shortly after, and the maid continued to take to care of him.

The young man had been like this for more than three days, it was already a miracle of him surving for so many days Yet, the young man continued to struggle unwilling to accept his own death.

After some minutes the body stopped moving. The maid checked his body, and his pulse, but she collapsed. The pulse of young man stopped moving, and his breathing stopped.

The maid unwilling to accept the death of her lord cried in agony and mourned for him. After crying for hours she wept her tears and went to inform other servants about his death.

She opened the door and was about to leave until she heard a voice, "Where am I??"

She turned back, and saw the young man who was dead now alive. She couldn't believe her own eyes, and slowly approached towards him.

The maid touched the face of the young man to confirm it was not an illusion. The young man felt awkward when she touched her face and was about to stop her, but she suddenly hugged him and started crying.

The young man blushed when she hugged him but also started to feel very comfortable, but then she started to hug him very tightly which made him is difficult to breathe. The maid noticed his difficulty, so he immediately released him and bowed "Please forgive me my lord"

The young man was very confused, when did he become a lord??

***

A maid knocked on the door bringing tea for her lord.

"Come in"

The maid entered the room and saw young man reading a book.

The young man glanced at her and said, "Keep them there and you can go"

The maid kept the tea on the table and bowed. Shortly after the maid left the young man drank the hot tea and continued reading.

The young man sighed in distress, "The situation is worse than I thought"

The crops yielding had decreased by 40% and it was possible it would decrease even more. The walls protecting the city was not being fixed, the road was filled with holes, push migration had increased by 35%, soldiers were mostly made of famers who weren't even trained, merchants were avoiding tax, poverty was increasing, tax collectors were charging extra tax for their riches, and the entire city was in a complete mess.

Note: Push migration means migration due to the lack of facilities, health care, etc if you are confused.

"If this continues on I won't be surprised if the people revolted"

The people was starting to lose jobs, supplies were decreasing and poverty was increasing. If this continues on people would have no choice to migrate to other cities.

As the lord of the city it was his job to stabilize the situation and improve the lifestyle of the people, and also because he was the head of Lionheart family, but he also had other identity though the other identity didn't matter anymore, he was the heir of the glorious Wang Family.

As the son of the head of the Wang Family he was taught by the top intelligent teachers and scholars available in China from very young age. He was taught never to bring any shame to the family and only to bring glory. From young age he worked very hard to show his worth to his father. He was considered as genius who had barely any rivals

Whether it was science, mathematics, history, or any subjects he was good at all of them. His rivals were few, and he was praised as one of the greatest genius in all of China. He was certainly a genius with very high intelligence, but he was also naive. At the age of 23 he was killed by the women, he loved, and she was also his childhood friend. She was beautiful like a goddess and gave pleasant and comfortable feeling to the surrounding people. She used to help poor people and give donation which made Wang Chen feel attracted to her and love her even more but it seem it was nothing more than act. Whenever Wang Chen saw she had donated large sums of money to any orphanage or organization he noticed if she donated it to some orphanage, no changes would happen even when she donated some hundred thousand RMB. He thought, it was due to the corruption but when he investigated no corruption was ever found and the money she had donated never appeared, and the organization she is used to donate was rumored to be her own organization.

"If only I had paid more attention to her I could have prevented it" but it was already too late to regret she had already killed him and. Wang Chen clenched his fist and swore he would get his revenge.

From birth there were only two women he fell in love with but both was a tragic. The first woman whom he had fallen in love with had rejected him when he proposed to her and his last lover had betrayed him.

Wang Chen mocked himself for being too naive but in this life he won't repeat the same mistake.
