Chapter 1 - Prologue

He awoke in a strange room opening his eyes to find that everything was a shade of gray, from the walls to the lounge chair he appeared to be sleeping in moments before which was a shade of dark gray.

"So your finally awake, welcome to purgatory Owen Peerson."

Owen looked in the direction of the voice to see a figure in the chair across from him, a man with a dark tanned complexion, thin but muscular build, long black hair and wearing a solid black T-shirt and faded jeans. The most noticable thing on him though were his eyes which seemed like a vortex pulling at Owen's being.

"So this is purgatory. What's with the colour scheme though? Seems a bit mundane for everything to be gray."

Looking at his surroundings Owen noticed that nothing was in the room with them except for the chairs they were sitting on and a coffee table with what appeared to be paperwork.

The man noticed Owen looking around and answered the thoughts on his mind.

" The gray symbolizes balance as this is the place between heaven and hell, good and evil, dark and light. The place in which souls get judged on where they go. If the soul chooses they may also be reborn or reincarnated if they lead a good life or it is decided they died unfairly."

The last part peaked Owen's interest as he asked his next question with curiosity clearly in his voice.

"Can that person choose to be anything, and if so is it possible for me to be reborn?"

The man's answer was immediate as if he expected this question and looked into Owen's very thoughts.

"You Owen Peerson have been judged and since your life was cut short and have not committed any large or noteworthy sin have the choice between heaven and rebirth. If you choose rebirth you may choose what world and being you want to be. But be warned if you choose a being residing on the side of the light or the dark you must speak with that respective side and it is for them to decide your worth."

His answer was immediate.

"I choose rebirth as a Demon Lord"

The man was absolutely shocked at Owen's words. After a moment or two the man regained his composure and a minute of pondering the event that played out before him he asked only one simple question.

"Why?"

A thought occured to Owen that made him shudder.

'If I tell him why will he view me as immoral and send me to hell.'

He didn't want torment for all eternity forthe reason of not wanting to human anymore. In the end he decided to be honest in his answer.

"I lived a mortal life and got nothing out of it. As a demon I don't have to be bound by mortality and still be a humanoid without the restriction of being human."

The man looked at him with curiosity seemingly appearing in the black holes he called eyes.

"If your sure then I can't stop you, it's your choice."

Owen smiled a little at his concern.

"I'm sure."

"Then I'll send you to talk with Luci to decide your fate, good luck"

After those words Owen's vision went black and when he came to he was in an office made of brimstone with torches lining the walls. Infront of him was a desk with a woman behind it. Unlike other women he's seen though her skin was a pale reddish colour, with a pixie cut of fiery red hair and two horns jutting out of her head. Her attire was that of a businesswoman. As he was was looking at her every feature she took that time to be the first to greet herself.

"Welcome to hell Mister Peerson my name is Luci I'll be the one that decides whether you join our ranks."
