Saturday, 13th of December 2020. 0040 Hours. Residential Area. Government Facility. Site "Trinity". Third Floor.
The two adversaries were shooting on each other. The contractors and the mysterious special forces that appeared out of nowhere. The reinforcement was more trained since almost every bullet hit the visor of Clara's helmet and they shot better than the guards.
"What the heck do these guys want?" Lizeth asked as she shot her pistol from behind the wall.
"No idea," Clara said as she shot her MG to the direction of that black people.
Clara walked closer and closer to that group and she noticed something. It wasn't the special forces from their country. They were American special forces.
"It's Americans," Clara said from the radio.
"Stop shooting then!" Lizeth shouted.
"Stop shooting?" Clara asked the reason for that order.
"Yeah, just stop! Put the weapons away and raise your hands in the air," Lizeth said and Clara complied with that order.
Although she was being shot at by the special forces. She put her weapon away and raised her hands slowly in the air.
"CEASE FIRE!" One of them said and bullets stopped raining on them. The special forces approached them and Lizeth went outside of her hiding and approached those special forces.
"Geran, this is Tango 1, the target is on sight, it's carried by a hostile. Should I engage?" One of them said in the microphone.
"Negative, we can't risk the VIP to be a casualty," the command center said.
Lizeth walked closer to the special forces. The sudden appearance of American special forces was unexpected, but the reason why they were there was clear. They had the same objective as them, they wanted to rescue Lynn.
"CIA?" Lizeth asked as she saw one of the special forces.
"I don't have the rights to answer. Are you an ally?" He asked.
"If your objective is to rescue this girl, then yes, we're an ally," Lizeth said.
"Geran, this is Tango 1, VIP is being carried by an ally. Everything is ok," he said.
"Copy that Tango 1," the HQ said.
The special forces and the contractors were looking at each other. Both of them were confused and didn't want to be engaged any longer. "Let's just keep our friendship as mutual. Do you agree?" Tango 1 asked.
"I agree," Clara answered as the special forces and contractors walked side by side together. Both of them were very tense considering the gravity of the situation that they were involved in.
If anyone between them decided to shoot anyone, Lynn could be a potential casualty which they didn't want it to happen at all.
They continued walking out of that government facility. At the surface, the contractors immediately noticed that the SF had made a temporary base in that warehouse as a command center. The old office was used as the main base.
"Let me handle her, can I?" A female medic approached Lizeth and Lizeth gave Lynn to her and she was immediately carried to a car where she got an emergency blood transfusion. A commander appeared from that old office. It was someone that Lizeth knew. He was wearing a green military uniform.
"Agent Herring?" Lizeth approached that man that could be in his forty. He was most likely to be forty-five to forty-nine years old.
"How do you know me? Yes," Herring shook her hand.
"It's my honor to meet you, sir," Lizeth said.
"Thanks for saving her. Can we talk outside?" Herring said as he walked out of the warehouse and Clara drove the suburban outside of the warehouse.
Lizeth and Herring walked outside of that warehouse and Clara parked that SUV in front of that warehouse. Herring and Lizeth leaned their backs at the wall of that warehouse.
"Herring, CIA PMOO isn't it?" Lizeth asked that mysterious CIA agent that Lynn kept mentioned as her source of Intel.
"Yes I am, you're with the FSB aren't you?" Herring asked Lizeth. Lynn might have to tell Herring multiple times about it.
"More or less," Lizeth said.
"I see. Well, she likes to tell me about you, or Patrick?" Herring smirked when he looked at Lizeth.
"Haha, yeah agent, well, I'll take care of her with the best of my ability," Lizeth said to Herring.
"It's a secret between three of us, don't worry too much about it," Herring said as he poked the back of Lizeth's juggernaut suit.
"I see, thanks for the help by the way," Lizeth said.
"I should be the one who said thanks to you, to be honest. You did all of the heavy liftings with that Russian," Herring said as he gave a thumbs up for Lizeth.
"Thanks for the compliment agent. Well, one question, how do you view Lima?" Lizeth asked.
"A great asset for CIA covert operation," Herring said.
"No more? Really?" Lizeth asked.
"Personally, she's a daughter figure for me. Hahaha, that's all," Herring said.
"Makes sense, she also sees you as her father figure," Lizeth said.
"Yeah, well, a lot of things happened between us offshore," Herring said to Lizeth.
Lizeth walked to the car. Clara had been waiting for her. She said her goodbye to Herring, "Agent, see you soon, maybe on a better circumstance."
"See you soon too," Herring waved his hand and the car was driven out of that residential area where the lab was located.
Both Lizeth and Clara released their helmet from their heads and looked at each other. Both of their faces were wet with sweat.
"We've done it, haven't we?" Lizeth said as she looked at the server on the backseat of that SUV.
"We have done it. We get the data. Lynn will appreciate that" Clara said as she took a deep breath. They were glad that everything went smoothly according to the plan. They expected that Lynn would be dead considering the suicide nature of the operation itself.
"We've done it, Clara, well, what should we do to celebrate?" Lizeth asked Clara.
"Well, a drink should be nice," Clara said.
"Sure, well, my apartment is empty. Want to go there?" Lizeth said and Clara drove the car to Lizeth's apartment.
Saturday, 13th of December 2020. 0300 Hours. 165th Fencer Street Apartment.
"Here you go Clara," Lizeth gave Clara a cup of coffee on the kitchen of her apartment.
"Thanks," Clara retrieved that coffee. The coffee was a delight considering that they were very sleepy and very tired. They just wanted to relax.
"Robusta isn't it?" Clara asked as she sipped the coffee.
"Yup, it's robusta, how do you know?" Lizeth asked.
"The flavor is more bitter than usual," Clara said as she sipped more of her coffee.
"I see, well, just finish it up. We still have a jug of it," Lizeth said as she grabbed a mug of her coffee and put some sugar inside of it. It was sweet and bitter.
The server was put at the table of her apartment that was located in front of the TV in the living room of that apartment. The TV was broadcasting ordinary evening news that you would usually see in the evening.
Clara and Lizeth sat down on the couch that was located in front of the TV. Both of them drank their coffee on that couch while looking at the capital that was in a riot.
"After all we've been through. Have you ever wondered? Why are we still alive?" Clara asked as she looked at the TV.
"Yeah, me too," Lizeth said as she sipped her cup of coffee.
"I can't believe that I sit side by side with my parents killer. Well, life is unexpected I guess," Clara said as she sipped her coffee.
"Yup," Lizeth said.
"Lizeth, do you have any idea on why Echo captured a container worth of weapon shipment?" Clara asked.
"Yeah, he wants to build a private military contractor for us. Standardization becomes a must if it's the main idea," Lizeth answered.
"I agree, well, we might join his PMC as well. It will be beneficial for both of us," Clara said.
"Yeah, I agree with that," Lizeth sipped her coffee.
The evening news was suddenly turned into a black screen with a white text. It was an emergency broadcast from the national news. The black screen turned into a speech from the president himself. The president was standing up in front of the podium in the presidential office.
He started his announcement shortly after he checked the microphone.
"My fellow countrymen, I'm here to declare the state of national emergency across the entire nation. Police and military forces have been deployed across the capital. We're warning every rebel to surrender or they will be met by an unexpected consequence."
The announcement ended abruptly and the expression on both of them clearly told, "What the fuck is going on?"
"Clara?"
"I have no idea either. This is ridiculous, I hope the condition will end soon."
"Clara, I bet my arse that this will only get worse "
