"Good morning, Takeuchi!" I greeted him in the morning.
Takeuchi, however, just looked at me with an angry expression. I knew he wasn't happy to have seen me in the morning.
"So are you going to be buying me ice cream after school today?"
"I will never buy you ice cream." He looked at me with a stern expression.
"Oh really? How about hamburgers?"
"Um, excuse me?" A faint voice came from behind Takeuchi.
I looked at the guy. He looked a little scared of me for some reason.
"Can you not bother my older brother?" He asked.
"Your brother?" I questioned.
"You don't need to speak to this girl, Makoto." Takeuchi took his brother away.
"Sakura, it's better not to bother them." Fuka walked up to me.
"Hmm?"
"They are both brothers. They are known as the ice brothers, since they both reject girls left and right."
"Why do they reject girls?" I asked.
"No one knows since they are so cold about it."
I wonder if it's because of that...
Probably.
"I'm going to talk to them." I said leaving Fuka's side.
"Sakura?"
I then walked up to the two Takeuchi's. "Hey, why don't we eat lunch together today?" I suggested.
"No." Takeuchi coldly rejected me.
"Ow. Why not?"
"Because I hate you."
"That's mean." I forced a laugh. "I guess I'll have lunch with the younger Takeuchi then."
"No! Leave Makoto alone." Takeuchi pulled his brother away from me. "Stay away."
"Ah..." Suddenly the bell rang. "Oh, I'll ask after class then."
"No! Go somewhere else instead." Takeuchi hissed.
"See you!" I waved goodbye and headed to class. What Takeuchi didn't know was that I already had a plan in mind.
***
"Can you please let me go?" Younger Takeuchi asked me.
I was able to find out from Fuka which class he was from. From there, I was able to kidnap him and take him hostage.
"Not until your brother comes." I smiled.
"If you like my brother, he won't go out with you. He isn't interested in dating anyone." He explained.
"I know that. I just want to become his friend. You can become my friend too, if you'd like."
"You want to be brother's friend?"
"Of course! He owes me ice cream too." I pouted.
The younger Takeuchi then smiled. "You are really a nice person, huh?"
"Of course I am. Don't I look like it?" I flipped my hair.
"Though, brother doesn't open up to people so easily, so it will be hard for you." He looked down.
"That's alright. If it takes that much for me to become his friend, then so be it."
"Makoto!" Takeuchi slammed open the door to the rooftop.
"Ready for lunch, Takeuchi?" I smiled.
"It was you!" Takeuchi took the younger Takeuchi and pulled him away. "Let's go, Makoto."
"Wait, brother. I think she is a nice person." Younger Takeuchi explained.
"Such a nice person." I teared up.
"She is weird. Let's go." Takeuchi grabbed his arm.
"No! I want to eat lunch with Tachibana-senpai." Young Takeuchi released his brother's grasp.
Takeuchi and I both looked at him with confusion. Takeuchi was actually more shocked and hurt than confused.
"You can call me Makoto, by the way. If you call me Takeuchi, I'll only be mistaken for my brother."
I looked over at Takeuchi and saw how sad he looked. "Well, Makoto. I happen to have three bento boxes. What am I supposed to do with so much food?"
"Fine! I guess it won't hurt to eat lunch with you guys." Takeuchi gave in.
"I'm glad. Thank you." I grinned at him.
He looked at me with a shocked expression then averted his eyes and began to blush. "Don't expect me to do this all the time."
I'm glad we are finally are able to eat lunch together. I think I made it out of step 1: Getting him closer to me.
Next is to make him not hate me.
"I didn't know what you liked, so I just made a whole bunch of things." I explained.
"These are my favorite things...How did you know?" Takeuchi asked.
"It was just a hunch."
"It's my favorite also!" Makoto took some food from the bento box.
"Hey, leave some for me!" Takeuchi exclaimed.
I'm happy to be getting closer to Takeuchi. I want him to smile more and more towards me, and, someday, call me his friend.
