Chapter 31 - SUSPECT

"Now why would they do that, how were the parents convinced to accept that their children were gone but no recognition will be given to the topic. Or one could think that they were hypnotized to believe that they had no children in the first place."

"Hypnotized?" right now even I had to admit that the idea of wiping someone's memories was rather interesting. Imagine forgetting in the middle of the fight who your opponent was.

Andrew continued rambling on about his theories meanwhile I was still in a daze due to the realization that I still had a lot to learn. That reminds me about that kid I met earlier, with the ability to raise the pressure of various things.

I think he might have had a part in the bombings, someone as easily tricked as him could be manipulated into doing many things.

"Kgang, Kgang! Are you still listening or do you think I am crazy too?" Andrew leaned over and shook me.

"Will you help me find the brain washers?" I sipped from his gripped all the way to his face. We remained in the same position with our eyes mounted on each other's. Andrew's started to look like they were losing strength so I knocked on the middle of them to wake him up.

"Will you help me find the brainwashers?" I stated as he jumped back, fear returning to him. For a little bit I thought I was going to lose the real him again but he quickly bounced back and ransacked his backpack for anything related.

Ultimately he had nothing, I saw disappointment visit his face and it was a painful sight to witness. I really wanted to meet the disappearing guys, maybe then I might be able to create a better card next time

"Wait, I'll think of something don't give up on me yet." he desperately said. I could tell that he really needed someone to talk to.

The boths of us might be crazy, he lives in a world where he believes in the paranormal and nobody else does so dismiss him and his actual interest.

I live in a world where being myself might lead to my death, I was somehow dragged into the supernatural and had nobody to talk to. I wonder if he will believe me if I told him, I wonder if he will keep my secret safely with him.

"Are you okay," I ran my hand on top of his head as he gave up with his down facing the ground.

"Yeah, I just realised that maybe I shouldn't apply science fiction and fantasy to everything."

"NO! I also believe, I also believe that you are the only one who can unravel this mystery." my hands came back and all of sudden I was trying to encourage this stranger that I had just let into my house.

Apart from my sister who just started invading my private space out of nowhere nobody walks into my room. My mother doesn't count because as far as she is concerned I don't pay enough rent claim personal space.

"Wait were did you get this." Laone raised a picture from the ground and showed it Andrew. Andrew took the picture and examined it for a few seconds.

"Oh! Remember that other school which was reported to have caught on fire yesterday. Well one the students caught a video of it unfolding, I downloaded the video and then printed it out frame by frame. Later on that same day it was removed from not only the internet, but my phone too."

These words gave Laone an unsettling feeling which she could not describe, was it fear or was it excitement. All she knew now was that she was happy to have met with Andrew today.

"Was this explosion soundless like ours?" she asked.

"I am not really sure, but what I am certain about is that there were children screaming but there was no boom."

Laone scrambled through the papers until she came out with a group of printouts that interested her.

"If recalled correctly the explosion that happened at school looked as if it came from the backside and exploded outwards. After which the child disappeared rather than dying."

"Whoa are you serious?" asked Andrew who was driven more and more enthusiastic with every turning second.

"Look here." Laone arranged the papers on the ground. "As you can see there is a tiny spark of energy right in between his shoulder muscles in this frame."

"Oh you mean his infras..."

"Don't creep me out Andrew."

"Sorry."

"In the next frame the light into a circle and in the third one it covers him whole. That is when the explosion action takes place as seen in this other frame here, when the fire starts burning and spreading. Right before the camera slides away, there is no human body."

Andrew snatched the papers from Laone and paid close attention to them. "OH MY GOD WHY DIDN'T I NOTICE THIS BEFORE?" he jumped and grabbed Laone, "you're a genius. All we have to do is show this..."

"And you're not." she shoved him from her face, "just whom do you plan on telling. Those very same people who think that you're crazy or the authorities. And how will that end my dear Andrew?"

"You don't understand my friends are different, they will believe me once I show them the evidence."

"Did I need evidence to believe in you?"

Andrew fell quiet, "you're different. You already had an idea that something was going on. They are blind and only I can help them see, because that is what friends are for."

"I already had an idea because you and I are similar to some extent, I will not stop you from telling your friends. But I want you to know..." Laone's door flew open before she finished talking and at it was her sister.

"What the hell are you two doing in here?" she glared at the two who looked like they were just about to kiss.
