Chapter 5 - This Game Is Real

After trading attacks for over ten minutes both fighters were extremely exhausted. While Kenneth was physically exhausted Aaron was mentally exhausted.

Aaron hadn't expected there to be a mini boss in the first fight he entered. Both of the warriors body's were covered in cuts. Kenneth wasn't able to use his wind technique as much as before from exhaustion.

For the beginning of the fight Aaron had been dodging Kenneth's constant spamming of whirlwind, waiting for his Qi to be exhausted.

Aaron had the advantage during the fight. Hastily tapping the attack button Aaron managed to land a fatal attack. His sword cut Kenneth's right arm.

Kenneth's fighting power was instantly lowered as that was the hand he fought with. Letting out a short cry Kenneth had started crying.

He was the young master of the Aubyn family. He should have been the clan head. How could he die here? Why hasn't his father saved him yet? Fuelled with rage Kenneth sprinted towards Aaron attempting to tackle him.

Lightly smirking Aaron jumped to the side and slashed at him. The attack managed to graze Kenneth's back causing him more pain.

"Whirlwind!"

Kenneth shouted his attack once again giving Aaron enough time to dodge. He started thinking.

"Why do people always shout out their attacks?"

Dashing closer to Kenneth, Aaron once again slashed at his body. Kenneth lost all sense and just started attacking blindly. At this point Aaron knew he won.

After that it became a battle of attrition. Five minutes later Kenneth could barely move. His body was covered in blood. It truly was a death by one thousand cuts.

Aaron could have ended the fight earlier but he thought that Kenneth deserved a slow death after how cruel he was to his servants. Kenneth eventually bled out putting an end to his life.

When Aaron was about to sigh in relief he noticed a pop up. When he read it he realised he could loot Kenneth's body to take his belongings.

Pressing on the loot button Aaron walked over to Kenneth's body and started patting it down taking everything valuable.

"I'll look at what I got in a minute"

The screen started to darken opening a new tab.

[Congratulations, you managed to win the Battle Royale. Because this is your first battle which you won you are awarded a special prize!]

[Prize for winning include: 28 Low Tier spirit stones, 2 Strengthening Pills, 1 Elemental Control Pill]

[Bonus Prize for winning, {Cultivation Manual- Icy Meditation } .All rewards are automatically placed in inventory]

After that message disappeared Aaron's screen reverted back to the original screen of his avatar sitting in a lotus position available to cultivate.

Looking at the screen Aaron noticed the inventory button and tapped it lightly. Once it opened Aaron saw several different items inside.

[+2 Strengthening Pills, +1 Elemental Control Pill, Cultivation Manual- Icy Meditation, +1 Elemental Sword]

Aaron didn't know what most of these meant so he tapped on the first one hoping for a description.

[Strengthening Pill (low grade)- This pill strengthens the body's physical condition and removes impurities]

[Elemental Control Pill (low grade)- This pill helps you with your control over the elements, mainly the one you are most proficient in]

[Elemental Sword (good condition)- This sword was looted from Kennet Aubyn. It is a sword made from a special metal which allows you to store elemental Qi. Highly durable]

"This element sword explains why that young master was able to attack me with his wind technique so much."

As Aaron was looking through the different items he saw he was able to consume the pills he got. He put it off for a moment while he looked at the cultivation manual.

When he tapped on it a new button appeared on the screen.

[Learn -Cultivation Manual: Icy Meditation]

[Yes/No]

Aaron quickly tapped the yes button. Almost instantly after he tapped it he felt a horrible pain in his head. Aaron felt as though his brain was being stabbed by thousands of needles.

Seconds later the pain disappeared as if it never existed. Aaron was covered in sweat and was panting raggedly. Aaron was starting to understand he information in his brain.

Seeing how sweaty he was Aaron decided to have a shower while understanding the information that was transferred into his brain.

After getting out of his bed and walking down the hall Aaron reached his bathroom door. Once he entered the room instead of walking towards the shower he made a beeline for the bath.

Turning the cold water on Aaron waited patiently in silence. While he was walking to the bathroom he finished comprehended the information.

"This can't be real"

Despite the information swarming Aaron's brain he was still in denial until he tried it. Seeing is believing. While the water was filling up Aaron had a suspicion that he needed to test.

He once again opened his phone entering the app. When he tapped the inventory button it was the same except for the disappearance of the cultivation manual.

Holding his breath Aaron hesitantly tapped the pills description when he saw the button he expected would be there.

[Take out x2 Strengthening Pill]

[Yes/No]

Bringing his finger towards the yes button Aaron hesitated but decided to keep going. The moment he tapped it he felt a weight added to his hand.

When Aaron opened his hand he noticed two small red marble like objects. Aaron tried to calm himself down as he believed if he panicked he would make a stupid decision.

He remembered a quote he once heard.

"Panic causes tunnel vision. Calm acceptance of danger allows up to more easily assess the situation and see the options."

Aaron was never a hot headed person. He would always think things through when making a decision. When looking at all the facts laid out in front of him he could only form one conclusion.

"This game is real."
