Chereads / Alyssum: Journey Of A Queen / Chapter 4 - Reputation

Chapter 4 - Reputation

Alyssa removed her hairband and kept her small dirty brown bag whose original color was unknown, and which had holes in it, near the sink.

As soon as she started removing her shirt, she heard rustling feet outside the door. Some of the sounds were from below the window on the opposite side.

Being always bullied, and locked countless times in the washroom, Alyssa was quite sensitive to her surrounding environment. Her sixth sense surpassed even that of alphas. She can even detect a hidden alpha. Moreover, she has royal and alpha blood so how can she be compared to that of an ordinary omega.

Alyssa squinted her eyes thinking then seconds later her eyes widen in horror, for she knew what was coming next will ruin her reputation totally, giving her mother a chance to kick her from her home.

Home. Huh. Tears welled in her eyes thinking about her so-called home, then she gave a bitter smile.

She went towards the window and pulled down the shutters to refrain people from outside to see inside.

Then she switched off all the lights enveloping the whole washroom into darkness.

She tiptoed towards one of the washroom stalls near the door and waited patiently for the drama to unfold.

Few seconds later only she heard someone opening the door. Her smile widened, "Not so patient after all."

Then she heard some voices, "Where is the bitch? Why it is so dark here?"

Then she heard another growl, "How could I know? Stop complaining, or I will rip your throat first."

Alyssa perked her ears to detect any more noise, but she blew a sigh of relief knowing that it was just two omega girls.

Even if they were two in number, they have more strength on their side compared to a single and starved Alyssa. She has to act first, and ruthlessly too for it will be difficult on her side if their eyes adjusted to the dark.

She sensed the two of them fumbling to switch on the light. Now was the time. Alyssa picked a heavy tile slab from a pile of tiles, kept neat the washroom door, and slammed it on the head of one of the girls.

She heard a yelp before a thud, it worked, the person is unconscious.

It was the first time for her for hitting someone. Alyssa's hands were trembling. Her back was drenched in cold sweat.

Only one thing was stopping her knees from buckling and falling on the ground and that is her chastity.

Her reputation was her bottom line. A thing most precious than golds and diamonds. She would anytime gladly accept death than her reputation ruined.

She saw a silhouette coming towards her. She raised her hands and smashed the tile against the figure.

She missed its head by a hair but injured its shoulder. She heard an angry low growl. She saw a hand coming towards her. She panicked. But before the hand can touch her, she kicked the other girl in her stomach.

Clutching her stomach, the girl kneeled before her. Alyssa once again raised her hand and smashed the tile against the girl's head. She waited for a few seconds. Seeing no sound around her and no one was attacking her she then breathed a sigh of relief, her knees buckled and she sat on the marble floor clutching her shivering hands tightly.

After a moment of comforting herself, Alyssa went toward the switchboard and switched on the lights.

The room flooded with light. It took some time for Alyssa to adjust her eyes in such bright light. She looked down to find two bodies lying on the ground haphazardly and a marble tile beside it.

She took the marble tile and rubbed it with her handkerchief to remove any fingerprints. Then she kept it over the piles of tiles neatly.

Alyssa hesitated for a moment then she walked towards the girls with a determined expression on her face.

She pulled down their shirts, revealing a little bit of skin around their shoulders and arms. Then she lifted one of the girls and put it on the other girl, creating an ambiguous position.

She took their mobile phones, clicked their pictures, and uploaded it on social media using their account. Then she wiped their phones with her handkerchief and dropped them on the ground.

Switching off the lights once again, she sneaked out of the washroom quietly with an ice-cold look and freezing eyes.

Alyssa was not a saint neither was she a pushover. She has her own patience and a bottom line and today Violet crossed her bottom line.

All these years of hurt made her a stronger person. It is said that "Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength." The same thing happened with Alyssa.

She thought of skipping school afterward. "It seems that Violet's patience is running low. She can now use any strategy to make me fall into the bottomless pit. I have to make money as soon as possible." Alyssa thought and hired a metro train to go from the capital of Coral Bells, 'Royal City' to another city called 'Fate Alley'.

Fate alley got its name due to a huge number of casinos and betting places situated in this city.

When Coral Bells was developing, Fate Alley was just an alley containing few small casinos and betting places, but now it is the whole city.

Alyssa always kept her money with her. She feared that if Violet knows that she had money, she will order the servants to burn it before her very eyes.

Alyssa has around 150-170 dollars left with her. They were the hard work of her wet nurse. That's why Alyssa was reluctant to spend a single penny despite her starvation.

She was traveling without a ticket plus it was for the first time she was going somewhere far, leaving her city. Forget about going to another city, in all of her 17 years of survival, Alyssa has known only the way to her school and back to her servant quarters.
