Chereads / My Feisty Wolfen Wife / Chapter 10 - 10. What ifs?

Chapter 10 - 10. What ifs?

What if she consider living outside the pack? That's the suggestion her father gave and discarded right before she went to her room and ran to where she is right now. At first she thought it was an absud idea, but after thinking about it she knew why her father thought of that in the first place. It's not what she wants though, and after a long night of thinking, that is still the last option that she will consider. She has no plans of running away from this problem. Aria stood up. The sun will rise anytime soon and she knows her father will worry if he finds out she is not in her room.

Unwillingly, she took her sling bag where she stash her clothes everytime she transforms, undress and then change into her wolf form. She wants to run first in her wolf form before going back home.

Running through the forest in this form always calms her nerves. There is something about how the feel of the wind through her fur and the soil on her paws combined with the smell of the earth and the trees she passes by that makes her feel connected, more so than when she is with her own pack.

But none of these is helping her calm down at the moment. She went through all possible scenarios in her mind all night long. And all ends with nothing favorable for her. She pray to the goddess that Zach's mind is clearer now that a night has passed. She now no longer hope for him to take her side because obviously that is for his mate alone, but atleast he can be reasonable and understanding. And as for Chloe, after her stint the day before, Aria knew there is no way that a reconciliation will happen soon. Maybe someday, when she finally learn to trust in the bond that she have with her mate, enough to stop doubting other unmated she-wolves around Zach who are actually there to help them. And though her father can use her powers as Alpha to force the truth out from Chloe, which will then clear her name, but just like what her father said, it will only be a temporary solution. Chloe will only hate her more once her deed is known to everyone. It will only make their relationship more strained than it is now. Also, that outcome cannot change the fact that Chloe is to be their next Luna, and no one wants a strained relationship with your pack's Luna.

She then suddenly remembered her passing thought the night before. What if she is mated, will she still be targeted by Chloe? But at the moment, that is one possibility which is impossible to consider. She already met all possible male lycan in their pack and none of them is her mate. So its either her mate is a younger lycan of their pack waiting for their awakening and thus unable to recognize that she is his mate, or her mate is someone from another pack. Both of which she had no time to wait for. Then she remembered Ethan, the one that helped her before. He is indeed from another pack. 'What if?' she thought. And just as that idea came, she denied it right away. He would have felt it when they met before since he is already an awakened lycan that time, just like how Bryle already felt the pull of the mate bond even before her bestfriend Chynna did, only that Ethan said nothing to Chynna then since well she has yet to awaken. 'What if that is also Ethan's reasoning at that time? To wait for me to also recognize our bond. Didn't he say then that he wants to meet again after I awakened?' Argued the tiny voice inside her mind. 'He ditched me that night though, remember? And it has already been a year. He definitely is not my mate.' As if agonizing over her conclusion, she felt an unexplainable bitterness within her. Shaking her head, Aria can't believe she is having this talk with her self. This always happen whenever she remembers Ethan, and remembering him has been a constant occurence since the night she met him. Not knowing why she felt that way she decided to ignore it altogether.

She continued running knowing very well that soon she has to face this problem head on. As she near the houses of their pack she stopped and looked over their small pack. These people are family to her. She laughed and cried with them, and now they are doubting her intentions. She felt her emotions welling up again. Not wanting her father to worry more than what he already is right now, she forced herself to toughen up, making a resolve to herself to do what she can to clear her name and hopefully without agitating Chloe more than what she is right now. Releasing a sigh she shifted back to her human form and wore her clothes before going straight to their house she shifted back and went inside her room.

She entered her bathroom and cleaned herself, knowing she won't be able to rest on her bed anymore. After that she went down their kitchen and prepared breakfast for herself and her father. The smell of coffee probably reached her father's room because the moment she placed the mug on the table, her father entered the room.

Alpha Wesley took the mug of coffee and had a sip before taking his seat on the table. She too took her seat and started sipping her coffee. "I knew you went out last night."

"Yeah. Did some thinking out there."

"And what did you come up with?"

"I'm not leaving, at least not under this situation." She scrunched her nose, a habit she unconsciously do everytime she's thinking hard. "I don't know what to do yet, dad. But I will do my all to clear my name. And I think I'll need your help."
