Ophir saw Kennan summarizing his list for the day. The harpsichords wonders how can this man keep his cool while managing two realms. Kennan grinned when he unbox the last supply of new arrival books.
"Can we join you now? You seem to be enjoying your self too much." Nevi side remarks as Nevi, Ophir and Lehi approaches Kennan.
"Not really. What brings you here? Do you have another sealed book?" Kennan greeted as the three crowded him.
"Nope, it's about a case." Lehi muttured sadly.
"Bethany... My gurdian was found dead this morning. We inspected her things and the area that might led us to a clue but nothing happened." Ophir explained as he laid Bethany's things.
"Her body got manually beaten. Her fingers were unevenly trimmed and pruned and her stomach recieved a blow that engraves... heinous." Lehi fill in the medical report thinking that might help.
Kennan eyed them and stood up.
"Anything else that you want me to know."
Nevi, Lehi and Ophir exchange glances.
"We concluded that it is base on a book entitled... Counting fingers." Nevi stated as Lehi nod by his side.
Kennan nod and invited the three to sit within his set up room. Kennan closed the library and put on an emergency sign.
Kennan led them at the far east and slid the shelves at the corner. The door revealed a single bed with a single table set. It's a vintage styled room. It was neat and familiar.
"This place is more than good enough." Lehi smiled as she compliments the arrangement.
"Yeah. This is my room from where I came from. Just sit wherever you want." Kennan offered as he boil on some water.
"Let us start with this. Bethany is from another time line but her body was found deas here. The possible conclusion would be the crime happened from her era.
Another side would be, she accidently cross over a distorted portal and was caught by accident.
The last possible situation would be she got targeted as part of a ritual that is a make believe situation." Kennan stated.
Ophir agreed with all the option that he laid out but something is off. Kennan's next question revealed everything to him.
"But the lead will change if the victims identity will come to light. Enlighten me about the "Counting Fingers Story."
Nevi was about to open his mouth when
the water reached it's peak. The hot water released a hot steam as the raw liquid turns into gas. Kennan stood up to prepare there tea and snack.
When Kennan set the tables, Nevi started to open a page that is beyond the grim fairy tale.
"It is a about a groom who feel in love with a woman who helped him to light up a candle on a desolated road. When the candle light took a warm vision of what is in front of him. His eyes noticed her fingers. It was rounded, pinkish and delicate. The man glanced up to see his heroine's face but the candle got blown off by the wind. He did the same practice waiting for the same woman to light up but nothing happened. When he was about to give up before winter. The same woman lighted his candle and again the first thing he saw was her finger. When he looked up to see her face the woman devoured her as her dinner. The groom did not know that the woman he's been waiting is a demon from the candle he picked up. When the groom died the candle melted leaving the road deserted." Nevi ended.
" I see, the demon might be a familiar object. She might have touched or kept something that carries a demon but that could have been impossible since she died on a different time line but her carcasses was found in another time frame. It's a timeless murder per say." Lehi wrapped in.
Kennan just sip his portion and replied.
"The possible answers to where was Bethany's mother land? Bethany is not a Glockenspiel. She is a friend of Oath who was an orphan. She took in the last name Glockenspiel in order for a household to be birthed in El Oathniel. Bethany is not a caretaker nor a harpsichord. She is just an orphan that was helped by oath when he was in here. I got curious about her since she mysteriously appear as a part of the household before, so I did some extra research only to find out that she came from the same era as me. Her ability to cross spaces and dimension is on a high level. She is regarded as the time-honoured."
"Time-honored?" Ophir inquired, he was shock to react that Bethany is not a blood relative nonetheless she is still the only person who stood as his mother, friend and gurdian.
"Meaning that she can cross time. In other words if someone like her exist then an opposite also attracts. In Tale Bearers example would be Lila, Urchin and Cyprus. Those three can easily slice and cut the space. Ain had the power and speed but not the time. Cyprus can halt someone's time by pausing their blood. Lila can leap from different time and space with her portal while Urchin have the power to create his own time and wrap someone's time. In Bethany's case she can visit any era she wants to venture in without receiving any foul play from any era."
Ophir and Nevi understood Kennan's point without a hitch but Lehi's wisdom went far beyond they expected.
"Does that mean Ophir is the same. He can perish someone's time with one word?"
When Ophir and Nevu heared her interest. It made them realise something important.
"No, Ophir does not affect anyone's time. He inflicts the soul and spirit. While Nevi expertised in the physical realm. In some sense tge nearest with Time-honoured gift would be you, Lehi." Kennan corrected calmly.
"What do you mean?" Lehi inquired getting more confused.
"Your coal shoes can reset and fast-forward any ground's time and formation. Your oil rejuvenate the cells same as time while in reality it needs an ample amount of time for a wound to heal. Your comb intervene every situation and is transformed to what is needed on that certain time, your comb does not change because of the crises rather it's because of the time span of the issue. Plus your reverb gathers all the scene within the exact situation. Meaning the details are published as timeless pieces. Books are alive even from a light year."
