Chapter 137 - Chapter 137: Nearer than I

Kish was glad to have Lehi back at their place. He exactly don't understand what occured but he got the gist that the young lady in front of him is his future descendant. Kish examined her teeth, hair and every inch of her member. Ophir even had to stop the young priest since his been taking much of Lehi's space that made her uncomfortable. Kish started to ask about the woman he married.

"Grandma had the same feature as me is what they say. Except for my hair I got it from my mother. Grandma was described to be like a sparkle above the ocean and below the sky. She is lovely and is admired by many." Lehi fill in as she recalled some of her past memories.

Kish looked more excited than ever and asked.

"Did she tell you how we met?"

Lehi nodded and smiled.

"She said that she saved you because your a cowa...rd.." Lehi trailed when she realised the statement.

Kish raised a brow and replied.

"She is the kind of woman that I could never handle. She might be out of my standard either."

Lehi clasp her hand and said.

"Grandma said the same thing. That she is the kind of woman you will never choose."

Kish looked confused and said.

"Then why did I marry her?"

Lehi gigiled and answered.

"Because you said that she is the woman in your vision. Grandma precisely mentioned that your a weird and crazy person when it comes to your God."

Kish felt his spine creaks when the vision got mentioned. He suddenly stood up and dismissed the two.

Kish forced himself to sleep but he can't get a wink. He yearns to see that woman's face once more. He remembered how that woman washed his feet with an oil as he slept.

He tossed and even asked Eyel for sleeping drink but it is not effective.

It's been weeks since he tried to recall the vision but he got nothing. Kish decided to give up about it since he found no result and that the face of that woman continued to fade from his supernatural memories.

Cyrus called the Tale Bearers for a new assignment.

"It's about the strange situation happening at Filadelfa Mystica.

Aquila requested the Tale Bearers to help them in securing the borders. For some reason a numerous corpse flower has bloom and emitted a rotten flesh scent. The flowers became wide spread that the foul odours have turned most of the grave unto it's soil."

Cyrus read the gist and sent them as soon as possible.

Ain cut the space since it's an emergency. According to Aquila number of people who are getting sick because of the awful and horrid scent has doubled. When they arrived, Aquila lead them unto the south border grave and got welcomed with a beautiful sight. The flower had a tall yellowish-white erect and enclosed with spotted green. Aquila informed them that during the night it blooms and radiates a reddish-purple interior that reveals a rotting flesh.

The Tale Bearers inquired about the cause of it.

"One of the kids noticed how the herbs enveloped the whole border. By night time the people near the village started to get sick and it alarmed the villagers. By the morning the old people started vomiting and the kids were weakened."

Aquila elaborted as they entered the space cut by Ain.

"Did you notice anything suspicious?"

Kiel inquired as he summon his cane.

Aquila just hummed a no.

Kiel extended his cane as Lehi and Hexel tried to aid those who are affected by the smirch. Ophir and Nevi stood with Urchin and waited for Kiel's information.

Kiel stamp his cane and opened his mouth to pray but before he can start, his throat got irritated. He begun to cough uncomfortably that it alarmed the gang, Nevi fetch some water and had him drink it. Kiel finally started to breath. His sweat started to overflow and his face paled. Ophir called Lehi and Hexel to apply any prevention that will harm Kiel.

Hexel and Lehi had Kiel seated to check on him.

"His old wound is reacting. It got grime from the smell."

Hexel informed as Lehi applied her oil unto Kiel's chest.

Urchin started to pout as he looked at how his father losed his composure.

Kiel whispered at Lehi's ear.

"Can I atleast perform my task even for a little time?"

Lehi nodded as she engulfed Kiel's throat and heart with oil.

Kiel kissed Urchin's forehead and kindly asked.

"Dear Son would you please pause the time around that area."

Urchin nodded and instantly froze the flowers.

Kiel recited his prayer even with his throat threathining to cough.

"Our Father and God may Your truth be exposed behind this infections. May Your people be strengthened and healed. Help us resolve the issue and sanctify the cause of all this. Amen."

Urchin resumed the time while Ain resize the flowers to minimise it's damage.

Kiel breathed and spoke.

"The corpse flower are mourning. The bodies within the grave are missing. The scent were coming from the open grave. The flowers are trying to protect the villagers by taking over the vast area."

Ain instantly resized the flowers. Ophir instructed the team.

"Urchin, Lehi and Hexel stay with Kiel. Nevi and Ain will go with me to explore and observe the graves."

Ain sliced the dimensions and they instantly landed within the flower ground. The grave had no sign of violent digging. The coffins were untouched but are a bit damaged due to the legnth of time it got burried under the soil. Ophir and Nevi cannot find any signs that would lead them to any clues. Ain proposed that they should wait for the night to come. Since almost all of the graves are emptied.

Ain opened a territory to get back with the team. Lehi and Hexel interviewed each patients. They both garnered the same answer that they just suddenly felt bad as soon as they got aware of the odour.
