Chapter 326 - Mountain-sized skull

The appearance of this unknown handsome blonde caused many of the young geniuses in the crowd to frown. A few had guessed that a Rank 2 Fae Master possessing such a powerful Fae Weapon would have an extraordinary background, and yet this guy just interrupts the entire martial gathering in order to ask a girl out?

Violet Sunglass knew of all the geniuses in within White Corpse City, Black Corpse City and Golden Corpse City. Additionally, she had heard of, and seen images of geniuses from other Sects on the Yellow Springs Famous River.

But not a single one of them came to mind as she looked at the young man in front of her.

His cultivation couldn't be discerned, so either he was significantly stronger than her, or he was a mortal.

His blindingly quick speed obviously caused her to throw away the second option, so all that was left was-.

"Oi! Who the hell do you think you are!?".

A familiar sounding voice resounded throughout the martial platform. A significantly slower individual made his way onto the stage, sending out a Corpse towards Vladimir, raising its arm back, ready to smack the this unknown man into the ground.

Vladimir just felt the hairs on the back of his neck raise, as his figure flickered once more, reappearing several metres away from his previous location.

There was no wind, shadow or sound created when he moved. It was almost as if he was a ghost, formless and intangible without any interaction with the physical world.

Vladimir just turned his gaze, glancing at Purple Fog who looked at him hatefully.

"Who the hell am I? Who the hell are you?".

Vladimir just crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow as he gazed at the peak Rank 2 Fae Master in front of him. His cultivation aside, Vladimir could feel the presence of both a Boundary Physique, and Laws within this young man.

Considering that his age was several years older than his own, it was safe to say that in terms of talent, only his Boundary Physique was perhaps notable.

Purple Fog tilted his head back slightly, trying to appear above everyone else present.

Just a moment ago his older brother had told him to scout out this unknown young man in front of him, and despite his unwillingness to do so, the fear of his brother far exceeded the fear of this unknown individual.

'He is probably just some idiot who specializes in speed or movement type Fae. He wasn't invited here, so there probably isn't anything too outrageous about his identity either'.

Purple Fog just sneered, turning towards Violet Sunglass.

"Senior Apprentice Sister! Did you invite this person here today, or is he here at this martial gathering without an invitation!?".

Violet Sunglass just raised an eyebrow, before turning towards Vladimir. His handsome features aside, she didn't recognize Vladimir at all. His movement techniques aside, she didn't want to push away a talented young genius, but nor did she want to side with someone outside of her Sect when faced with an uninvited individual.

Frowning at Purple Fog, Violet Sunglass glanced at Purple Mist before shaking her head.

"I do not know where this young sir has come from. As such, he was not invited to this martial gathering".

Purple Fog grinned before turning towards Vladimir. Flicking his finger, the Corpse on the martial platform slowly moved towards Vladimir, a hint of malice hidden within his gaze.

He didn't know why, but for some reason, this guy reminded him of Arthur. Ever since he destroyed his ear, his sense of balance and hearing had been completely ruined, leading to the formation of a heart demon.

If he tried to break through to Rank 3 right now, he would inevitably fail, possibly even dying due to lack of control.

It would take him several years on its own if he wanted to resolve such a problem, but by the time that had happened, his brother, as well as most of the others from his own generation would've overtaken him by that point.

His Master, one of the Elders within the Sect had nothing to say to him but blame himself for his own arrogance.

Even if he caught the Boundless Forest Yearning and brought him directly before Purple Fog, it wouldn't necessarily resolve his heart demon. So long as his ear remained destroyed, a symbol of Arthur's victory of him would forever remain within Purple Fog's mind.

"If you weren't invited, then you should leave now! Unless you want to leave here with a pair of broken legs, I suggest peasants such as yourself should-".

"My apologies for not informing you sooner Miss Violet. But Vladimir here accompanied myself into the martial gathering. He is one of my guests".

Parvan and all the others watched as Arthur's figure simultaneously flickered onto the stage. His speed was by no means lesser than Vladimir's, and his expression hadn't changed from his calm, almost nonchalant self.

His demeanour and temperament, combined with his raven black hair and dark black eyes gave off a different aura than his usual green hair and green eyes. It made Arthur possess a depth that was overshadowed by the presence of the Boundless Forest Yearning.

Nyssa's eyes lit up when she saw Arthur appear on stage, and Purple Mist frowned slightly still watching from afar.

He wanted to go up on stage and ascertain their limits and origins for himself, but wanted Purple Fog to "test" the waters first. Some might call him cowardly, while others a snake. But Purple Mist knew better than most that patience was a virtue that all Fae Masters should possess.

A snake had to wait patiently for the time to strike after all....

Arthur glanced at Purple Fog, before turning towards Violet Sunglass.

"Vladimir is my friend, Miss Sunglass. My apologies for not informing you beforehand of his presence. He is quite the-".

"Wait, we're friends?".

Vladimir glanced at Arthur, a cheeky expression marring his face.

Arthur didn't even so much as blink before continuing his words.

"-The eccentric. But I assure you and everyone else present that his abilities are by no means subpar. In fact, other than myself, I doubt anyone here could best him".

Vladimir just smiled at the sly remark, turning towards Arthur with a small grin on his face.

"Oh? Is that what you think Arthur?".

The Boundless Forest Yearning just shook his head.

"It's not what I think. It's what I know".

The two stared at each other intently, no pressure or formless exertion being released by either of them. It almost seemed as though the pair were engaging in some sort of mortal staring competition, but-.

"Kovacs! You son of a bitch! You dare to appear in front of me, after what you did!".

Both the Formless Night Shadow and the Boundless Forest Yearning turned towards Purple Fog. Having their "staring competition" interrupted, Arthur just raised an eyebrow, tilting his head to the side slightly.

"Who are you again?".

Parvan, and a few of the others in the crowd snorted slightly, causing Purple Fog to grit his teeth and clench his fist to the point where his skin turned white.

Other than his brother, whom treated him like a human punching bag, no-one else had dared to speak to him in such a manner. Everyone else within their age group had always treated him with respect, in awe of his strength and talent.

He fell short in terms of both in comparison to his brother.

He knew that better than anyone else.

But Arthur.... this guy....

Purple Fog's eyes turned slightly crimson, as he waved his arms, controlling the Four Winged Pterodactyl corpse, sending it flying towards Arthur.

"You boundless fucking nobody! You come from some sort backwater Clan in the middle of fucking nowhere! There is no way that you are better than me!".

The Four Winged Pterodactyl cut through the air, speeding towards Arthur under Purple Fog's command. It was originally a Wind Attributed spirit beast, but after refinement and being turned into a Corpse, it gained the Corpse Attribute.

Even though it's combat power was still relatively lacking, its speed was almost unmatched within the boundaries of a Rank 2 Fae Master. Even some Rank 3 Fae Masters would be hard pressed to dodge its attacks.

Arthur just let out a deep sigh, summoning his Leafsword Fae. He was ready and poised to strike however stopped, seeing a shadow flicker by right past him.

A large Ghost, comprised solely of a single enormous skull rose up from beneath Vladimir's shadow. It's size was reminiscent of of a small mountain, however the shape and structure was similar to that of a human beings skull.

Opening its gaping maw, the enormous Ghosts allowed the Four Winged Pterodactyl inside its mouth before shutting it, as if a mousetrap that had suddenly rat.

An explosion of blood and flesh splattered out, causing Purple Fog to vomit out a mouthful of blood due to the suddenly severed connection between him and his Corpse.

The massive ghost skull vanished in the blink of an eye, returning back to Vladimir's shadow.

The corners of his mouth raised, as his eyes continued to stare at Arthur.
