Chapter 282 - Killing spree

Arthur's figure flickered up high into the air, his Leafsword gaining a crimson red tint to it as he slashed out. The long fifty-metre crimson red crescent moon slashed straight through all the mortal trees and shrubs that lined the side of the road, eventually reaching flesh and blood, causing the sounds of bones and blood to splatter out.

Arthur could hear the faint movement of feet within the forest all around him. His eyes darting in every direction humanly possible before he dashed out, his feet glowing a brightly coloured green.

A Rank 3 Wood Stalker Fae that Arthur had taken from the Clan Reserves. Amplified by the strength of his Wood Laws, Arthur's speed had completely exceeded the limits for his current level of cultivation.

Appearing right behind the green and black painted figure of a bandit, Arthur slashed out, severing his head from his body before vanishing and sprinting throughout the forest.

Some of the stronger Rank 2 Fae Masters quickly regathered themselves in the face of a Rank 3 Fae Master, and shouted out over the battlefield.

"He's a Rank 3 Fae Master! With Attribute Control Sk-".

Arthur summoned his Wood Piercing Bident and launched numerous Silver Waning Moons towards the retreating Fae Masters. Most of them avoided the slightly weaker Attribute Control Skill, but felt their eyes widen and their mouths drop slightly as the brightly coloured beam suddenly "bent" and headed straight for them....

Several more bodies hit the floor, as Arthur summoned his Flowering Shield Fae, blocking another volley of multi-Attributed arrows.

These bandits knew what the power of an ambush was and thus tried to attack Arthur and his group from all sides. They waited patiently for the right moment, and struck the moment that most of the Fae Masters were distracted!

Unfortunately for them, they couldn't know that Arthur was a Rank 3 Fae Master. Not to mention one with a Sovereign Boundary Physique either.

His figure flickered constantly, reappearing with the sound of screams and frightened expressions.

Arthur hadn't seen a single Rank 3 Fae Master yet, nor had he sensed the presence of topaz origin essence either. Considering that no-one had tried to destroy his Sky Eyes Fae, Arthur concluded that the bandits they were currently facing were either all Rank 2 Fae Masters, or a Rank 3 Fae Master who didn't notice they were being watched.

And if they couldn't notice Arthur then....

He smirked.

"I won't have to worry about anything!".

Arthur's hair and eyes turned a dark shade of green, even darker with the thick canopy of leaves above him. Some of the Fae Masters around him felt their bodies freeze the moment they met Arthur's gaze, an expression of realization washing over them before their heads were removed from their necks.

Out of all of the possible people they could've targeted today.... they just had to pick the single one that possessed a Sovereign Boundary Physique!

Some of the smarter bandits noticed the change in Arthur's physical appearance, and immediately decided to retreat. Against a Rank 3 Fae Master with a Sovereign Boundary Physique, measly Rank 2 Fae Masters like themselves were nothing but garbage in their eyes....

Noticing the retreating figures, Arthur grinned before dropping his Leafsword Fae.

"You think it's that easy!? Thin again!".

A sea of beautiful green grass exploded outwards from beneath Arthur's feet. The retreating Fae Masters noticed the the forest around them transform into a bright emerald field of soft, gentle grass.

Their thoughts paused for a moment, counting just how many Attribute Control Skills this young man had used.

The first was the crimson crescent moon which could cut through almost everything within a hundred metres....

Then there was those beams of moonlight, which could bend in all sorts of directions, making it unavoidable....

And now there was this sea of grass!?

Was this generations Boundless Forest Yearning the disciple of some huge Sect or Clan!? If so, then they really should've avoided attacking them!

However.... there was no medicine for regret in this world.

Arthur flicked his index and middle finger up, sending a barrage of grass shards towards all of the retreating Fae Masters. The storm of verdant blades cut through bone, flesh and muscle alike, causing everyone within a hundred metres of Arthur to fall to the ground, as if puppets whose strings had just been cut.

The scent of grass and blood filled the air as Arthur walked, completely unblemished. His breathing was slightly faster than normal, and his heart was beating wildly as he clenched even tighter on the polearm in his hands.

His expression cold, and the killing intent in his eyes bursting forth.

"It's not enough.... I'm not satisfied yet....".

Arthur lifted his head and turned towards the caravan, the sounds of battle could be heard from here, and it seemed as though that the others hadn't quite finished with their battle yet either.

Dismissing his Leafsword Fae, Arthur held his Wood Piercing Bident Fae in two hands, sprinting forward, completely ignoring the trees and fallen logs before him. The young man leaped and rolled over anything in his path, kicking off one of the larger, more thicker trees, causing an enormous indent to appear as he shot up into the air.

The Wood Laws within Arthur constantly strengthened his Wood Attributed Fae. Their strength and abilities could be exerted with much greater effect, to the point where it exceeded the limits of their Rank.

Every Attribute naturally possessed their own boons and Laws, and Fae used in conjunction with Laws could highlight their natural abilities to show an even greater power.

In a battle between a Rank 2 Wood Attributed Leafsword Fae and a Rank 2 Metal Attributed Sword Fae, the Rank 2 Sword Fae would have a greater killing potential due to its Attribute. With Metal Laws, which focused on strength, structure and boundaries, used against Wood Laws, which focused on vitality, regeneration and lifeforce, it would obviously have a greater killing potential.

However.... that didn't mean that Wood Attributed Laws were worse. With a high enough attainment in Wood Laws, a Fae Master could constantly heal and regenerate themselves, ignoring the damage done by their opponent!

They also boasted a much greater endurance, and much more vitality than other Fae Masters!

That is why plants and trees could live for so long, even without spiritual intelligence! Their vitality and lifeforce were so much stronger in comparison to mortals!

Arthur was familiar with Bone Laws, which also touched upon notions such as regeneration and lifeforce. Bones created blood, and blood was the source of lifeforce within Humans. Bone Laws to some degree could assist in the regeneration process, but in comparison to Wood Laws, they were slightly inferior in that regard.

Arthur fell down towards the earth, with the force of a meteor, landing directly on the body of a Rank 2 Fae Master, piercing his throat with his Wood Piercing Bident. His green hair fluttering endlessly in the wind, and his green eyes emitted a potent killing intent, capable of freezing anyone who dared to look into his eyes.
