Chapter 267 - Green scales, yellow eyes

"I've been researching the relationship between Bonemeal Water Paste and the different effects it has on the strength and potential of Bone Attributed Ghosts. I've tried using the different skull bones and spines from various bear and wolf species ghosts in order to create some sort of variation or enhancement of overall strength, but I haven't discovered any actual boost to the potential or strength of my ghosts. In fact, they all turn out to be weaker than previous batches....".

Arthur glanced at Nyssa before turning his attention back to one of the Ghost Nurturing Swamps in front of him. The faint bubbling coming from the waters surface wouldn't made it seem as though the water itself was boiling, but if the frozen stick that Arthur had poked it with were any indication of temperature, it would suggest the complete opposite.

"Mixing and matching senselessly isn't a good idea, so you shouldn't waste so many materials. But in the first place, Bonemeal Water Paste is a Bone-Water Attributed Fae material. Of course trying to use it to create Bone-Blood dual Attributed Ghosts wouldn't be a good idea in the first place. Try swapping it out for some Crimson Bone Powder instead. Look, here is the formula to create Rank 1 Crimson Bone Powder....".

Nyssa gave Arthur a large smile before running off towards her own Ghost Nurturing Ponds. Arthur didn't even so much as look back, just smiling at the freezing, bubbling swamp in front of him.

Ghost Nurturing Swamps were the most simples way of creating a Wood Attributed Ghost. Swamps attracted the most negative Thoughts, Emotions and Desires, in comparison to grassy plains and thick forests. The thickness of wood-Attributed spiritual essence was perfect and didn't need to be regulated or adjusted either.

By placing certain Wood Attributed Fae materials, and then using various Thought Gathering, Emotion Gathering and Desire Gathering Fae, Arthur could focus the ambient mental energy around these Ghost Nurturing Swamps in order to form a Ghost.

He could always just plant a few Ghost Spectre Trees, so some of the other equivalent Fae materials, which guaranteed the formation of a Ghost, but he only had a few months within Parachenko Village before he would be forced to leave.

Even with Rank 1 Wood Laws, the most that Arthur could influence would be two or three Ghost Spectre Trees. Compared to the time that it would take to set up a few Ghost Nurturing Swamps, it it was practically nothing.

'And besides, if I used Flowering Seeds on the Ghost Spectres Trees too much, I'll end up damaging the vitality of the plant itself. If that happens, the Wood Embryo Seed that is born from the tree would be at a lower quality....'.

Arthur just continued to eye the Ghost Nurturing Swamp, constantly using his origin essence to adjust the amount of Thoughts, Emotions and Desires that gathered over this area.

Arthur didn't have the unique Fae that allowed him to perceive Thoughts, Emotions or Desires, but he could still roughly feel the balance of power within the atmosphere around him. He could sense the Emotions around him plain as day, and so long as the other two powers around it were roughly the same, he could ensure a relatively equal balance.

Ever since the destruction of Parachenko Village, Arthur had been making sure to never slack on his cultivation or increasing his overall strength.

In terms of talent, Arthur possessed a Sovereign Boundary Physique. The highest level of talent within the Thirty Three Heavens. But if he shirked on bettering himself, especially with all the opportunities he had taken from Parachenko Village, Arthur would regret for the rest of his days....

"I've reached the peak of solid ruby origin essence. Formed an Intent before even becoming a Rank 2 Fae Master. Comprehended the first level of both Wood and Emotion Laws associated with the Boundless Forest Yearning. Created numerous Attribute Control Skills and formed the innate ability associated with my Sovereign Boundary Physique....'.

All within two years of being reincarnated....

The Boundless Forest Yearning was the biggest surprise Arthur had been given, but by no means an unwelcome one. Taking it for himself speed up his timetable significantly, and allowed him to be more liberal with his future options.

Speaking of options....

Arthur clutched the half-wolf medallion in his hand, gazing down at it with a mixed expression.

'If I didn't already have another goal in mind, I would definitely try my hand at joining the Divine Tannhauser Empire....'.

Arthur had no idea that his grandfather, at least on his Father's side possessed a bastard son. One that had managed to join the Transformation Academy associated with the Divine Tannhauser Empire.

Within this region of the Azure Envy Continent, they rules supreme. Even something like the Azure Ocean Sect, or the Nightime Demon Sect which boasted having a Sovereign Boundary Physique each, fell short in the face of this massive power.

It wasn't just a matter of having Sovereign Boundary Physiques.... The foundations of the Divine Tannhauser Empire was much, much deeper than either of those two smaller Immortal Sects. They were an Empire that stretched across Eras. Their accumulated knowledge and wealth was significantly higher than any nearby Sect or Clan, immortal or otherwise.

Arthur had.... certain places that he wanted.... or needed to visit rather before a certain time. Not only could these places boost his strength significantly, but they could also lay the foundations for his future.

If he was ever in a spot of trouble, Arthur would certainly head towards the Divine Tannhauser Empire and lay low for a few years. He wasn't sure how an unknown relative would treat him, but having backing was definitely better than having no backing, that was for sure....

And if he needed to, Arthur could always just reveal that he possessed a Sovereign Boundary Physique. It would definitely be able to get him through the front door.

There was always the matter regarding Nyssa and the others, but taking in a few stragglers alongside a Sovereign Boundary Physique wielder wasn't anything uncommon. In fact, it would only create stronger ties between the Sovereign Boundary Physique wielder and the Clan or Sect.

Talent wasn't really an issue. With the right combination of origin essence sea expansion fae and vein limit fae, any Fae Master could have a 300% origin essence sea. Some even possessed more, if their foundations weren't bad in the first place.

The seventeen year old showed a smile, before twitching slightly, glancing down at the Ghost Nurturing Swamp.

Arthur noticed a faint change in the spiritual essence quantity within the Swamp before taking a step forward and glancing down to the very depths of the murky waters. Unlike Nyssa's Ghost Nurturing Ponds which were primarily Bone and Blood Attributes, Arthur's were mainly Wood Attributed, with some Water Attributed, Ice Attributed and some Yin Attributed Fae materials placed in certain locations.

Just changing one material could potentially change the entire outcome of Arthur's experiments. And considering his exemption from heavenly laws, Arthur didn't doubt that such a thing would occur.

For the vast majority of these Ghost Nurturing Swamps, Arthur had used Fae materials native to the Azure Envy Continent, and some from the Azure Sea. However..... in this particular Ghost Nurturing Swamp....

A huge explosion resounded out up from beneath the waters surface. Nyssa and the others lifted their heads, glancing at the origins of the explosion before putting their heads back down and focusing on their work.

Since it was where Arthur was, none of them thought that it would be something he was unable to deal with....

Arthur lifted his head upwards at the large transient existing floating above him, narrowing his eyes as he gazed all up and down its form.

Ghosts took on the appearance of whatever Thought, Emotion or Desire was the strongest out of everything that was around it. It was uncommon, but extremely powerful negative, or sometimes even positive mental energies of a single entity after death could allow them to form a Ghost, all on their own.

Even if their class should've been lower, it could be possible for a normal Wood Yin Ghost to possess a Revenant-class, or even a Wraith-class potential. But those were extremely rare events, and the ambient Thoughts, Emotions and Desires had to be unified at death so that a balance could be formed.

Arthur didn't care about any of that stuff, and instead opted to gather an extraordinary amount of ambient Thoughts, Emotions and Desires, in conjunction with specific Fae materials.

Snake Eye Flowers.... Leaf Scaled Serpent Blood.... Rainbow Venom Snake Gallbladder.... Winged Snake Hearts..... Winter Chill Cobra Venom.... Thorny Rose Serpent Blood.... Snake Fruit Seeds.... even Surging Poison Serpent Bones....

These materials weren't just Fae materials, but they were also filled with a specific type of Thoughts, Emotions and Desires. They type that Arthur wanted.

Arthur narrowed his eyes, gazing at the slightly green tinted, translucent skin of the floating Snake before him. To call it a Snake would be a little bit of an understatement....

It was at least forty metres long, and thick enough to swallow and entire fully grown water bison whole. In fact, perhaps a single water bison alone wouldn't be enough to satiate its hunger....

It was tinted green slightly, covered in a thick layer of leaves, which hid the layer of scales beneath it. Despite being translucent, Arthur could tell that this particular ghost could hide itself whenever it wanted, blending it with the thick background of the green forest behind it. It might be an existence that doesn't possess a physical body either, but from its large, human leg-sized fangs, a drop of green coloured poison fell, hitting the soft dirt beneath it and causing the earth to sizzle as it melted dirt and stone alike.

The top of its head possessed a single large horn, which was strangely bone-like, similar to Nyssa's White Devil Fae Transformation. It was also coloured green but not covered in leaves or shrubbery.

It's sinister, yellow tinted eyes gazed unblinking at Arthur, who just extended his arm forward, activating his imprinting-type Fae.

He even used his Wood Laws while taking a step forward, causing the Ghost to unconsciously move towards the presence of this stronger similar Attribute....

Arthur smiled slightly nodding his head.

'This is the full extent of my current knowledge on Wood Attributed Ghosts. Anything and everything else, will have to come from dedicated research and experiments....'.
