Arthur spent the next few days after awakening his "Eyes Of Affection", practicing and focusing on the limits of where this innate ability of his lie.
The Eyes Of Affection transformed the appearance of his eye, making his normally black iris appear pink, and his circular pupil expand slightly, making his eyes resemble a blooming flower petal. It wasn't possible to activate the ability without transforming his eye, so it was obvious to see that Arthur possessed some sort of eye-related ability.
He could see the lines of affection between two people, and through closer examination of said lines, he figured out the different types of affection that he could see.
The first and most obvious were the black coloured lines which connected people. These lines were unaffected by Fae, and from what Arthur could see, grew thicker and more clearer depending on the strength of the affection, and the distance that he was from his target.
If affection only went one way, the line was slightly squiggly, as it it had been messily drawn by a child or some sort of animal. Two way affections were straighter, much more distinct than one way affections.
Those with pink lines of affection were people whom had been affected by his Affection Tree Fae. He had only seen a couple other colours within the Village, however Arthur was pretty sure that this pink colour would be unique to the Affection Tree Fae, considering it was a Fae that belonged to a Sovereign Boundary Physique.
The other colour that Arthur had seen was a brightly coloured red. One that linked Elder Zarek to a beautiful married woman on the other side of the Village. Arthur didn't quite figure out what Fae had been used, but after seeing Elder Zarek visit her once her husband left for work, Arthur could roughly tell that he had used some sort of Desire-Attributed Fae on her.
The only person it didn't work on was Niklos. But Arthur presumed that was either because of a Fae, or due to his higher level of cultivation.
'Lust? Most likely? Perhaps some sort of Lust Manifestation Fae, or some sort of Lust Focus Fae? Something that moves the centre of her Lust towards Elder Zarek..... What a dirty minded old man....'.
Arthur didn't care what the Elders did in their spare time, and the woman, probably in her early thirties was even more beautiful than Nadia or Natasha. Her figure had yet to show any signs of aging, and her demure expression seemed to evoke a certain lust within some of her neighbours.
Elder Zarek probably saw her and used a Fae to turn her lust onto himself. That dirty old man, no wonder he gave birth to an illegitimate son, he can't keep his hands to himself....
The innate ability the Boundless Forest Yearning gave him wasn't offensive, or one that could be used in tandem with the Affection Tree Fae like he hoped, but it was definitely the next best thing.
It allowed Arthur to peer into the mental connections between individuals. Arthur had only seen a handful of Fae with similar abilities in his previous life, and was almost completely sure that within Human Heaven, such Fae didn't exist.
It meant that he had to be careful whom he used this ability in front of, but also as a way to make sure he wasn't under the influence of other Fae.
Sitting in his underground cultivation room, Arthur blinked a couple times, stretching his hand slightly after recording some information about his ghosts.
'In terms of my own strengths, anyone that isn't a Rank 3 Fae Master isn't necessarily my match. Attribute Control Skills can close the gap between myself and others, and with the added power of my Wood Laws, any Wood Attributed Fae I use is strengthened. Achieving the same level of power as a vapour topaz origin essence Fae Master is easy, while getting results higher than that would prove difficult with my current level of strength.
'The Ghosts in my possession will close the gap even further, but they need time to absorb more essence of Thoughts, Emotions and Desires. All of them are still Rank 1, and would need a little more time to reach Rank 2. Parvan and the others are also getting close to Rank 2, which is good for me in the long run.
'In terms of Emotion Attributed Fae, I'll need to work on it a little more as well. After we leave Parachenko Village, heading to the Falling Snow River will be good for the time being, and it'll force the others to rely and trust me even more'.
Arthur smiled slightly, closing the book in front of him and placing it back into one of his Storage Fae. Letting out a small sigh and opening the locked door to his cultivation room, Arthur took a single step outside the underground room before freezing completely, his eyes narrowing and an immense killing intent focusing on the world around him.
Lifting his head slightly, the reincarnated demon narrowed his eyes, before walking up the stairs to his living room.
It was the middle of the night, and considering how far along Nadia and Natasha were, the twin sisters had opted to move back into the Clan Leaders residence under his mothers orders. The entirety of his water-locked house remained empty, with Arthur being the only resident within....
His frighteningly cold expression turned slowly, gazing towards every corner of the house, a boundless killing intent being released from his body.
If Ricardo could see the quality, and the amount of killing intent within Arthur, he would freeze up, and instantly realize he wasn't just a normal genius. This kind of killing intent, to the point where it could lower the temperature in the air, was far beyond what a seventeen year old could ever hope to achieve.
Arthur had spent a thousand years killing and plundering from the Thirty Three Heavens. Even though he wasn't considered "strong" by those in charge of Immortal Clans and Immortal Sects, as an individual, he was by no means weak.
Any further, and his killing intent would be able to cause a physical change in the world around him. Lowering the temperature a few degrees was one thing, but being able to force someone to kneel, or to move was another thing completely.
Arthur gazed at one corner of the house, his cold expression becoming somewhat angered as he removed his killing intent and walking towards this specific corner of the house.
The corner was near where he had planted a few spirit plants in the shallower areas beneath his house. It was easily accessible, and was only able to be reached by leaving the house completely.
Narrowing his eyes at the shallow water area beneath him, Arthur couldn't see anything, but he could definitely feel something down there.
He sent down a ghost to inspect the waters beneath him, but found nothing.
Nothing, but a tiny sliver of spiritual essence left behind underneath this section of shallow water....
'A trace?'.
Arthur's eyes narrowed slightly and he lifted his head towards the rest of the Village. A trace wasn't anything dangerous, in fact it couldn't do anything, even with the effects of other Fae. It was solely used for tracking, possibly even spying if the Fae Master was good enough.
Leaving the trace behind, Arthur re-entered his cultivation room, an annoyed expression marring his face.
"Someone's watching me....".
This wasn't like the time when he was being watched by Elder Stas. That idiot had tried to watch Arthur himself, fully confident that a measly Rank 1 Fae Master couldn't even follow, let alone counter-track a Rank 3 Fae Master.
This person.... whoever they were.... didn't want to take any risks when trying to spy on him.
On the other side of the Village, a certain burly-figured young man hunched over a series of fragmented bones. They covered the floor of his small shack, and if one zoomed out and looked at it from a birds eye view, they would realize that all these fragmented bones were arranged to look like Parachenko Village.
The maddened, crimson eyes landed on a lone house, built on a small line of crimson liquid. The rivers of the Village were drawn with blood, and numerous faint lines could be seen all around the Village.
The eyes noticed a slightly change in the trace placed near the river, but smiled after seeing that it hadn't vanished.
"Soon.... very soon Arthur.... I'll make you regret ever being born".
