Chapter 216 - Wood Spectre Tree

The duration that the White Dominion Sect caravan was in Parachenko Village was only a short while. A month roughly, give or take a day or two for packing up or having to wait for weather conditions to improve.

The most common biome found within Winter Rain Mountain was an extremely luscious forest, with plenty of water sources nearby, which promoted the growth of both small marine life, and the size of the flora found within the region.

The small marine life was preyed on usually by mammals, the occasional avian and some reptiles whom have adapted to the colder environments. Due to the high possibility of flooding in most areas, there were only so many places within the Winter Rain Mountains that didn't flood.

Parachenko Village was one of them, while the other three Villages belonging to the other three mortal Clans were also free from normal flooding. Rain that was caused by Beast Kings, or Fae weren't included in this list.

The existence of such a think, forest and river filled biome would be perfect for hiding, or even escaping as an individual. But as a group, or a caravan, one needed to take precautions so as to not damage their merchandise on the trip between the four Villages.

It was the whole reason they had chosen to undergo this trek. If their wealth, or potential wealth was destroyed, it also destroyed their entire reason for travelling.

Which is why it was so important to get along with some of these smaller Villages. None of them wanted to spend their time, risking their life, mapping out the terrain when they could just get someone familiar with the area to do it for them.

The thick forest and ever-flowing rivers would inevitably cause erosion over time. The landscape would change, and a single path one year might not be viable in two years time.

"This one right here is called a Ice Lotus Root. Despite its appearance, its taste is actually quite similar to something like cucumber. It's medicinal properties are also good for wounds caused by Rank 1 Fire Attributed Fae".

Arthur stood silently behind the large group in front of him.

His "team", alongside Ratimir, Borik and Alina's team had all gathered and were currently escorting some of the Rank 1 and Rank 2 Fae Masters belonging to the caravan. The vast majority of them were male, so it was obvious that the direction of their gazes more often than not, landed on some of the more beautiful women in attendance.

Alina, after more than a year of Fae Master training and maturing, had started growing up in terms of height. He wavy brown hair hung loosely just past her shoulders, making the young woman appear more mature in terms of appearance. Her figure had started to fill out some more, although more so down below, if the eyes of these male Fae Masters indicated anything.

Iryna, the dirty blonde short woman, whose bust size far exceeded the average for her height also drew some attention. The strange mixture of shortness and a large bust wasn't common, even in the larger world, and her dainty young face seemed to spark some embers within the hearts of these young men.

However, out of all the young women men present, more than half of them had their eyes on a certain young Fae Master out in front. She was pointing out certain Fae materials, and wild medicines which grew near the Village.

Her long, silk black hair fell as the way down to her waist, and her pale, almost jade-like skin seemed to shine underneath the faint sunlight. Her demeanour wasn't necessarily passive, although the expression on her face seemed to evoke some sadness, or some sort of longing, one that made someone want to embrace her, trying to fill the void that existed within her heart.

Nyssa was only fifteen, so in terms of physical maturity, she wasn't anything special when compared to Iryna, Alina or even Vladya on the side. But something about the young woman, just seemed to attract the gazes of the men around her.

Arthur originally thought that she possessed a Physique, but after a close investigation, he found that she didn't possess any such thing.

'If Nyssa awakened the Boundless Forest Yearning instead of Andrea, I'm afraid that the entire male population of Parachenko Village would fall under her spell. She may have killed dozens of people in my previous life, but I'm afraid that even those old geezer Elders would feel the blood rush to their loins if they saw her now....'.

Of course, beauty was in the eye of the beholder.

And the notion of beauty to Arthur, was not physical in nature.

What he desired was obvious.

"Sovereign Boundary Physiques. Boundary Physiques. Immortality.... Perhaps these are the only truly "beautiful" things in this World.....".

Arthur would never deny indulging in the pleasures of the flesh. In fact, his relationship with Nyssa, Iryna and Zlatanna had gone beyond just teammates, multiple times. He may feel excitement stir within him in the moment, but such a thing, just like beauty, was only temporary.

Once he sobered up, the world would be so much clearer than it was before. The distractions had been satiated, and he could focus on his work so much better.

Even if Nyssa and Iryna wanted more, perhaps a place in his heart, all of their efforts would go to waste. The next best thing they could hope for, was just a place by his side.

Zlatanna was slightly smarter than this, also just using Arthur to pleasure herself. She did have a physical attraction to him, and both of them were more than willing, so why wouldn't they use one another for the time being?

"And this one here is a Rodent Corpse Flower. It attracts rodent species towards it using its pollen and scent. Be careful though, as the entire flower itself secretes a strong paralytic poison. It can even paralyze Rank 1 Fae Masters".

One of the young men standing beside Nyssa, a Rank 2 Fae Master just smiled before caressing the Rodent Corpse Flower. Despite appearing young, the "young man" was probably at least twenty five years old, and a solid ruby origin essence Fae Master.

Weaker than Dominic, Leon in terms of cultivation. And weaker than Arthur in terms of strength.

He picked up the flower with his bare hand, and then tucked it away in the pouch around his waist. Smiling at Nyssa, he raised her hand and kissed it, appearing all the more gentlemanly.

"Thank you, Miss Nyssa. I'm glad that Parachenko Village has a Fae Master as kind and gentle as you are. It is our honour for you to guide us throughout this region".

A few of the other Rank 2 Fae Masters glared at this young man in particular, and the Rank 1 Fae Masters just sighed, resigning to their own lack of strength.

Nyssa just nodded her head before pointing to another nearby Fae material.

"This one right here is called a Wood Spectre Tree. It possesses both Ghost and Wood Attributes and is similar in nature to Corpses. However, corpses use the deceased bodies of humans and spirit beasts, while this one uses the deceased body of a normal Wood Essence Tree.

If someone who specialized in Ghost Attributed Fae refined this tree, they could possibly create a Wood Spectre, or perhaps even something stronger like a Wood Ghost, or a fully fledged Wood Revenant....".

One of the more knowledgeable Fae Masters just smiled at Nyssa's words, before stepping forward and shaking his head.

"Miss Nyssa, before you continue I must say that your words are not incorrect. However, the chances of a Wood Spectre Tree forming anything else other than a Wood Remnant is extremely low at beast. Considering it is only a Rank 1 Fae material the chances of it producing a Wood Spectre would be increased if you added something like Yin Spectre Water, or even-".

Arthur just glanced at the young man for a moment before activating his Spirit Affection Tree Fae. Considering the name, both the strength and the targets that Arthur could affect his Fae now went beyond just the living.

The Wood Spectre Tree in front of them wiggled its black-green coloured branches, shaking violently as some of the other Fae Masters backed up. Most of them readied their Fae to target the tree, but Nyssa just raised her arm and prevented them from attacking.

In a matter of seconds, a large, bulbous seed had grown on the largest branch of the Wood Spectre Tree. Approximately the same size as a watermelon.

The young man who had tried speaking up before, felt his eyes widen, and his mouth drop slightly as he pointed at the large watermelon sized seed.

"That's-!".

Nyssa just nodded.

"That's a Wood Embryo Seed. It seems my calculations were correct".

She glanced back at Arthur, who just looked at the embryo without so much as glancing towards her. The young woman, despite not having a place in his heart, knew that Arthur wouldn't mistreat his people.

Ehem.... his property.
