Chapter 212 - Come so far

"Zlatanna! Helga! Don't move too far away from us! If you get encircled neither one of you will be able to escape!".

Parvan shouted out over the the sounds of blood poison and corpse poison exploding all around him. The faint shadows of a large spider-like human darted over head, slicing and piercing through any nearby Spirit Leeches. Iryna extended her hands forward and shot out numerous large blobs of webbing, colliding with the feet and joints of these spirit beasts.

The sounds of metal sands resounded out through the nearby forest, as the soft squelching of flesh and bone echoed out from behind Parvan. A soft, gentle hum of metallic sand colliding together could be seen gathering around Henrik, as he sent out another crescent shaped slice of metal sand.

Milena and Dagen stood side by side as well, launching numerous bullets, lances, spheres and arrows of strange coloured liquids. Sometimes they appeared red, crimson, the same colour as blood. Other times purple, slightly pale, as if resembling the colour of a corpse going through rigor mortis.

Sometimes they were brown, and other times a deathly black. Without a doubt, these two had benefitted the most from the caravan and all the Fae that they had available. The sheer number and variety of Corpse Attributed Fae far exceeded anything that either Dagen or Milena had ever seen before.

And with Arthur's being the banker in this situation, they were free to purchase just about as many Fae as they wanted! Unlike Arthur in Sophia's Emotion Fae Emporium, they didn't have access to many of the high ranked Fae. The most that they could purchase was a Rank 2 Fae, and that was after convincing the store owner that as a Rank 1 Fae Master, they could handle it.

Now, all of them wanted to become Rank 2 Fae Masters as soon as humanly possible. Milena and Dagen even more so.

Arthur watched from the treetops as the nine Fae Masters below battled the swarm of Spirit Leeches. Due to the high concentrations of blood and water spiritual essence, these Spirit Leeches thrived underneath the soft, moist soil and preyed on any unsuspecting passer-by who might accidentally walk into their nest.

Under orders from the Clan Leader, Arthur was to exterminate this nest, considering how close it was to the Clan. Seeing as though the strongest spirit beast was only the Lord Rank, Arthur left it to Parvan and the rest to deal with.

Ever since the caravan came to Parachenko Village, the Fae Masters in the Clan were currently experiencing a drastic increase in strength. So many new Fae that they could use to optimise or enhance their combat abilities could be seen, obviously a testament to the powers and influence of the White Dominion Sect.

Arthur glanced at Nyssa who was currently running through the forest, chasing a Lord Ranked Spirit Leech.

In terms of one on one combat, Spirit Leeches were below even Venom Spiders. They only had their firm, yet slimy carapace to protect them, and their only forms of attack were their bite and their ability to flail uncontrollably. They could breath underwater and exist solely on nutrients found in soil, so they weren't exactly the most powerful of spirit beasts.

Their biggest problem, was how quickly they reproduced.

Insects always reproduced quicker, and in much greater numbers than mammals did, so even if was less when it came to spirit beasts, they still had a biological advantage.

A fully grown Spirit Leech could give birth to around 1000 Spirit Leeches once every three months. Not all of them could become spirit beasts, but a minority would undoubtably come into contact with Hatred Fae and awaken their origin essence seas.

Within the span of a few years, an entire region might get taken over by Spirit Leeches.

Nyssa activated another Fae and felt a huge burst of energy thrust out from beneath her feet. Her bone clad physique, shot forward, as her two enlarged bone claws sliced forward, severing this Lord Ranked spirit beast cleanly in half.

The young woman span around on the soles of her feet, slicing upwards, downwards, horizontally, cutting countless Spirit Leeches into tiny strips of their former selves.

Getting a good look at her, and ignoring the blood splatters, one could see that the entirety of her physique, from the top of her head to the soles on her feet were covered in a thin, streamlined bone armour.

It wasn't exactly an armour type Fae series, like what Alina or Zlatanna used, but a type of Transformation Fae.

Arthur was a little surprised to see this type of Fae present in a simple caravan. Although considering they were only Rank 1, he did see why they wouldn't care about such a low Ranked Fae.

It was a Devil Transformation Fae.

Bone Devil Transformation Fae.

Almost the entire Transformation as well.

Nyssa underwent a complete all-round strengthening whenever she equipped these Fae. Her boots transformed, extending the size of her feet by more than double, appearing closer to the skeletal structure of a lizard, or some sort of ancient reptile.

The size of her hands enlarged as well. Growing thicker, stronger and with powerfully sharp claws instead of fingers. Her legs and arms gained a thin, yet sturdy layer of bone carapace on it, capable of deflecting weaker attacks. Her chest and abdomen also gained a relatively tight layer of armour on it, the same pale white bone colour as the rest of her Transformation.

The only Rank 2 Fae in her possession, was the Rank 2 Bone Mask Fae, which wasn't apart of the Bone Devil Transformation. It protected her head, yet didn't impede on her breathing or her vision.

From the outside, Nyssa appeared more like an alien rather than a Bone Devil. Although, one could still tell that their was a female underneath from the shape of her chest.

Arthur watched as Zlatanna and Helga kited the Spirit Leeches underneath the ground towards Milena and Dagen. The two poison users were protected by Henrik and Parvan's walls of stone and metal sand, while Iryna and Nyssa killed off any of the stragglers that left the main group.

Eric, who was the only one without a partner, launched numerous waves of moonslices, flameslices, and all manners of different elemental abilities towards them, not quite specializing in anything in particular. He did think about weapon type Fae, and even trying to be like Ratimir but neither his physique, nor his temperament matched his current methods of fighting.

As if an archer trying to fight on the front lines with the swordsman.

It didn't have anything to do with his lack of partner during battle, but more of a case of being stubborn, and refusing to try anything else.

Even with the Affection Tree Fae, Arthur couldn't do anything about the sense of inferiority Eric felt.

The thousand year old demon didn't even so much as blink before coming to an obvious conclusion.

"It's better to use him as a lesson, rather than get rid of him now", he muttered.

Noticing the distinct lack of any explosions or battles, Arthur titled his head downwards slightly, noticing that the rest of them were looking up at him.

He pretended to smile, in a way that a Father was proud of his child's achievement, before lifting his head slightly and narrowing his eyes.

Noticing his change in demeanour, the other nine turned around, feeling a slightly shaking feeling underneath their feet. The wet soil shifted immensely, and the nine Fae Masters leapt back in order to avoid the oncoming attack, only to be greeted with an enormous figure bursting up out of the ground.

Parvan's eyes widened and he turned towards Henrik and the others.

"It's a Baron Ranked Spirit Leech! Get back! And we'll surrounded it from all-".

"Don't worry, leave this one to me".

Parvan felt a strange breeze wash over him and noticing a blindingly fast shadow brush past him.

Arthur was currently carrying his Rank 2 Halberd Fae, and activated all the Fae required to use his "Silver Waning Moon".

However-.

A strange formless power flowed throughout his body, in between the gaps in his origin essence seas. The power rotated, spinning rapidly, as it extended outwards towards Arthur's arm and weapon.

The nine Rank 1 Fae Masters behind him, only noticing his arm flicking out once as he shot numerous "Silver Waning Moons" into the sky above. The strange positioning and direction in which he launched his Attribute Control Skills forward would've caused anyone else to frown and call him an idiot.

Over a dozen thin, arm-sized beams of light rose high up into the sky, before falling with the motion of Arthur's arm. The beams of moonlight suddenly changed direction and fell towards the Earth as if fallen angels being pushed away by the Heavens.

The Baron Ranked Spirit Leech approaching Arthur and the others lifted its head slightly, its tiny feelers noticing the fluctuations in the sky above.

But it was too late.

The beams of light feel on its firm, slimy body, piercing straight through its carapace, causing more than a dozen large holes to appear all over its body. Its small, yet well protected brain was instantly destroyed by a Silver Waning Moon, causing it to collapse to the ground, dead.

Arthur turned towards his nine Fae Masters, smiling slightly while nodding.

"Good. You've all come so far".
