Chapter 146 - Patience

Despite Arthur's little.... display earlier, the final battle in the second new Fae Master Tournament was about to begin.

Many people were shocked by both the sheer, indominable power that Randolf possessed as a Rank 2 Fae Master, but an equally large amount of Fae Masters were gobsmacked by Arthur's perception and attainment.

Hands down, everyone believed that if both Randolf and Arthur were Rank 2 Fae Masters, Arthur would be the victor. However, since Randolf has the advantage in regards to maximum origin essence sea, and origin essence regeneration, many supposed that Randolf could just drag the fight out again.

Arthur needed to win the battle as quickly, and as swiftly as possible.

Many thought that he might even have to risk severely injuring Randolf in the process.

The two young men sat silently in their seats, as they watched one of the Elders repair the main platform. Not only had the completely fixed the flat surface, but they had extended the platform itself by another ten square metres.

They originally didn't think such actions were necessary, but seeing the performance of these two, quite a number of Elders suddenly thought that it was.

The power of these two youngsters.... was frightening.

Truly.... the young will always surpass the old.

Arthur closed his eyes and focused on his new Intent, letting it move between the gaps of his origin essence seas.

He had never encountered, or seen someone with the ability to "bend" or "twist", even in his thousand years worth of lifespan. Most of the other Myriad Races had techniques or treasures to help their young generation form an Intent, but Humanity usually focused on the cultivation of Laws, before focusing on Intent.

Arthur had Wood Laws and Emotion Laws within his Mind Origin Essence Sea, curtesy of the Boundless Forest Yearning. So long as he continued to develop his Sovereign Boundary Physique, those two Laws would begin to flourish and gradually strengthen Arthur on all fronts.

The Intent on the other hand was something different.

It didn't need Fae materials or a special process to evolve, like most Fae did.

Nor did it need an amazing comprehension, or perception like most Laws did.

It's true, that one did need quite a powerful perception in order to train their Intent, expand it and make it grow stronger. However in order to possess an Intent, one only needed to solidify their Will, Emotions and Desires into a unified existence.

As a result, Intent was usually born from the Mind.

Bloodlines were born from the Body, while-.

Arthur stopped his train of thought and turned towards his side, noticing that a few people had sat down either side of him. Despite being quite familiar with them, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as he noticed the three descendents of Elders sit around him.

He had defeated both Alina and Borik, while Ratimir had gotten thumped by Randolf's fire arrow fae.

All three of them weren't injured anymore, but their stamina and physical endurance had been overdraft as a result of their healing.

They probably couldn't handle a couple of hits from Arthur without any Fae, but they could still use origin essence.

Arthur glance from left to right.

"Borik. Ratimir. Alina.... To what do I owe the pleasure?".

Before any of the other two could speak, Alina opened her mouth.

"I just wanna know, if you really did comprehend a Law back there on the stage. I didn't attack you while you were paused there, because if you did and I interrupted you then-".

Arthur cut her off.

"Yes. I have gained.... some insight into Spatial Laws. That is how I made the pseudo Attribute Control Skill bend and hit you".

They obviously didn't know what the power of Intent was, and it was probably better in the long run that they didn't know. Spending time explaining a concept that wouldn't matter to them, or even affect them would be time consuming.

And besides, letting them come to their own conclusions, and then agreeing with them worked better for both parties. Arthur didn't need to come up with an excuse, and the others could be proud that their assumptions were correct.

Nobody liked to be wrong, after all.

Borik, Ratimir and Alina glanced at each other for a moment before sending a sideward glance towards Randolf, who had his eyes closed.

If he had a investigative type fae, perhaps he would be able to hear them.

"We also want to know if you plan on sharing your attainments. This request isn't from us either".

The corner of Arthur's lips rose slightly before he shrugged his shoulders and shaking his head.

"I'll think about it. Even if I were to share my comprehensions, I sure wouldn't do it for free. And besides.... it's not a matter of me being unable to share it, it's a matter of you being able to understand".

The three descendents of Elders narrowed their eyes slightly, before Ratimir spoke up.

"Don't worry about that part. Just tell us what you want".

Arthur suppressed a smile before shaking his head and waving them off.

"I'll think about it after I come back from the Origin Essence Pond".

Borik raised an eyebrow, before a cheeky smile rose up on the muscle-head's face.

"You really think you'll be able to defeat Randolf?".

Arthur gazed directly into Borik's eyes, causing the young man to feel a sharp pain and look away.

"Yes.... yes I do".

Arthur didn't bother seeing them off, and only closed his eyes, letting the cogs in his mind churn as more and more steps were added to his plan.

'I'll need storage type fae.... and maybe a spirit beasts or two to carry things.... Elder Zarek is in charge of researching Fae Formula, so perhaps I'll take a few glances in his book in order to "expand my knowledge"..... Elder Velika has quite a number of Rank 3 Fae materials, while Elder Sagan is in charge of the Clan Records....'

Arthur's plans were always one that relied on patience.

Rushing in too quickly would result in his death, and taking too long would cause his gains to lower.

He waited more than half a year to claim the Boundless Forest Yearning. And now that he had it, all that he needed was time.

Time to grow stronger. And time to develop his roots.

Even if he needed to uproot them one day, there were still plenty of places he could move, where their existed fertile soil. So many treasures and Fae, just waiting to be claimed.

At any rate, for the time being, all Arthur needed to do, was the same thing as last year. Only this time.... he wouldn't stop until Randolf was completely on the floor.

"The participants for the final battle in the Tournament are.... Randolf and Arthur!".
