Seeing that Niklos' wolf transformation attacks could pierce through even the Noxious Venom Spider's strongest defense, the Beast King changed its tactics, and leaped around towards the Village.
It had already noticed that the smaller, weaker Fae Masters fought and struggled to contain the power of its severed leg, and knew that even if it did lose another limb, losing it inside Parachenko Village would cause a greater damage than just loosing it in a random field.
Additionally, this wolf transformation Fae Master would be more hesitant to attack, knowing that if he missed, he would devastate the Village.
It's abilities as a commander, or as a general might fall behind that of an average human, but in direct combat, things were much different.
Niklos' eyes widened and he frowned deeply before leaping forward on all fours, straight towards the Beast King, his japing jaw wide open as a large ball of shadows congregated in his mouth.
Elder Vova's eyes widened.
"Everyone! Get down!".
The large balls of shadow congealed into a single gelatinous blob, appearing more like a thick, black ink than formless shadows.
Niklos' claws dug into the earth beneath him, as if bracing himself for some sort of pushback. His eyes flashed with a killing intent as he aimed his mouth directly at the figure of the Noxious Venom Spider.
Even in the distance Arthur raised an eyebrow as he watched a black coloured beam shoot across the skies above Parachenko Village, cutting through the thick layer of clouds and just missing the Beast King.
The force from such an attack could've cut through a mountain, and even rivalled the attack from a Rank 5 Fae Master!
Considering that this Attribute Control Skill was created by a Rank 5 Fae Master, the power was somewhat lacking considering that Niklos' cultivation didn't meet the necessary requirements to use it effectively.
However-.
The power of that black coloured beam caused the massive body of the Beast King to spin uncontrollably as it struggled to adjust itself mid-air.
It tried to shoot out another line of webbing to catch itself, but Niklos' eyes flashed as he ran towards the Beast King.
"I won't let you!".
Every step he took created a several metre deep ditch, and caused the buildings below to shake violently.
Many of the mortals thought that this was the end of the world, and that they would inevitably die at the hands of beings they thought were Gods.
Those other Fae Masters, who had just arrived in Parachenko Village saw the massive, ten story tall body of the Kovacs Clan Leader and felt their knees wobble as they finally saw the immensity of the heavens and the earth.
Despite its size, Niklos' body still retained its agility and dexterity, allowing him to leap, jump and sidestep between buildings, as he quickly approached the falling Beast King.
More gaseous shadows gathered around the claws of Niklos' wolf transformation. The Noxious Venom Spider was practically right above him, and he had a clear line of sight to slash at the Beast King.
The massive hulking figure of the bipedal wolf hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath and slashing upwards towards the Beast King!
The eyes of the Noxious Venom Spider widened as four massive shadowy blades slices through its thick layer of hair, venom and blood, sending huge amounts of all threw down onto the Village below!
Despite the fact that this would endanger the lives of the mortals of Parachenko Village, Niklos still executed his duty to its fullest!
If killing it right here and now led to no more deaths on his side, then-.
The cries and screams of those mortals, that lived around where Niklos was standing was drowned out by the screams of high-pitched squeals of the Noxious Venom Spider. It landed on a small house, crushing its inhabitants and flailed around uncontrollably, trying to suppress the pain that it felt.
It crushed nine more houses before Niklos approached it, grabbing its massive bloodied head before brutally smashing his fist into it.
A part of him died just then.
The part of him that loved and protected the people of Parachenko Village.
If he threw it back towards the fields, no doubt blood, venom and flesh would fall down on the houses between there and here. The damage would be immense and on a much greater scale.
There was also the problem of the Beast King escaping, or hurting more Fae Masters before it died.
As such, despite the damage that it caused to the Village, Niklos kept slashing and punching at the Beast King underneath him. Blood and venom coated his hands and fingers, slowly dissolving his transformed fur and flesh but-.
Only the sound of meat, brutally colliding against flesh and bone echoed throughout Parachenko Village.
The lives of those who had just died, for no reason at all other than "they were in the way", could only be honoured by the impassionate and hate filled blows that Niklos dealt to the Noxious Venom Spider.
Eventually-.
His fist punched straight through bone, straight through flesh, straight through brain matter as it dug straight into the earth, causing the pain filled screams to stop and silence to fill the air.
The sudden change in the tension, and the mood in the air grew heavy. For Fae Masters and mortals like.
All of those spirit beasts and venom spiders had retreated, no longer under the influence of the Beast King.
Now, all that they could do, was stare silently at the hill-sized figure of Niklos in the distance.
There was a huge grunt and the sound of something being lifted up as Niklos' voiced echoed throughout the Village.
For a second there, many thought that his voice echoed around the world....
He lifted the corpse of the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King high above him, ignoring the pool of blood and venom that gathered beneath him.
"Kovacs will not die! Kovacs will never die! Not today and not for a thousand years!".
The hot-blooded souls of those young men and women. Those survivors of their first war, and those warriors who had proven themselves on the battlefield this day as stood up, their fists trembling and their blood pumping.
They had lost so much.... and so many people they would never seen again, but....
The taste of victory, dulled the sense of grief in these people.
No-one knew who started it, but Arthur had a feeling that it was probably Dominic who did so.
Everyone, from those mortals, to those Fae Masters, to the Elders and even those new immigrants who had just arrived a few months ago all raised their fists to the sky as they gazed at the corpse of the Beast King.
"Kovacs! Kovacs! Kovacs! Kovacs! Kovacs! Kovacs! Kovacs!....".
Some cried, remembering their fallen brothers and sisters.
Others clapped, and sung, trying their best to suppress such emotions within them.
Some held each other, thanking whatever God, Creator of Deity that allowed them to survive together....
Even those Elders, who most people hadn't seen before cried while cradling their injuries!
The blood of Kovacs ran strong, and throughout each and every one of them!
They had won....
"They" had won....
"They" had won!
The name Kovacs resonated throughout all of Winter Rain Mountain. Everyone present, no matter whether they were man, woman or child all looked up towards their Clan Leader and the corpse of the Beast King whom he had defeated!
All.... except one of course....
The figure of a handsome young man, sitting silently on a rooftop, smiling politely could be seen.
His eyes turned towards the cloudy skies above, as well as the omen that they brought.
"Finally.... it's all coming together".
