Arthur slashed through another Lord Ranked venom spider, quickly sidestepping before slashing out, sending another flurry of moonslices towards the other remaining venom spiders.
If he had been counting, Arthur know that he had killed more than 200 venom spiders of varying Ranks.
A drop in the well in terms of the overall number of venom spiders, but in terms of how many he had single handily defeated, he was definitely up there, if not at the top.
Killing these spirit beasts whose intelligence is comparable to a young child's may seem like a difficult thing to do, even for Rank 1 Fae Masters, but understanding all their abilities, as well as their limitations was the most important part of killing.
Weighing his own limitations against the limitations of his opponent, Arthur knew how far he could extend himself, as well as where the line between dangerous and safe laid.
The spray from venom spiders was extremely dangerous, that part was true. But, the only dangerous part was its reach, not how wide-spread it was shot out.
It was a bullet, not a buckshot, is what he was trying to say.
And even then, it wasn't nearly as fast as a bullet, so moving to the side was easy so long as one could tell where it was going to land.
Arthur sighed before dismissing his Fae, and jumping back up to the top of a building. He kicked aside the dead corpse of a Violet Condor, and sat down, letting the bloodseeker leaf fae and wood essence fae do their jobs.
Just from a cursory glance, he could already tell that every venom spider within a hundred metres had been killed, and if he were to focus his attention, Arthur could see that only a few dozen remained within a kilometre of him.
None of them were Baron Ranked, so Arthur ignored them and turned his attention back towards the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King.
His expressions didn't even so much as flicker as he gazed out towards the scene in front of him.
Most of the Elders were currently trying to battle against the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King, sending their ultimate attacks towards the hill-sized beast. Its thick layer of hair, along with the pungent venom that it secreted created a sort of thin barrier between it and the attacks, nullifying more than half the damage dealt.
Arthur could see Elder Vova at the rear of the group, his figure bloodied, and his arm missing from the elbow down.
He had sacrificed his left arm in order to prevent the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King from killing three other Elders. Elder Vova had almost been forced to use his Attribute Control Skill again but refrained as he glanced up to the sky.
His grandfather had already been summoned and activated as many Fae as he could, trying his best to slow down the blood loss, to much success.
Niklos, or the Clan Leader, had yet to be seen on the battlefield. Many of the younger Fae Masters, including some of the Elders thought that their Clan Leader had abandoned them, and cursed Niklos under their breaths.
Their attentions turned towards Leon and Dominic who were fighting on the front lines side by side with them, and their anger died down, knowing that he was definitely here somewhere.
Niklos would have to be one cold hearted bastard to let his two eldest sons die, even if it were to protect the Clan.
Not to mention, they were both future powerhouses of the Clan, so their deaths would undoubtably be a waste in the long run.
From what they knew, Arthur was somewhere in the streets of Parachenko Village as well, clearing up the lower Ranked venom spiders.
The eldest three sons of the Clan Leader were all out fighting, and risking their lives in order to protect the Village, and yet the Clan Leader was hiding?
Arthur's grandfather turned his head, glancing around him as he furrowed his brows.
"Dammit Niklos.... Where the hell are you?".
Arthur didn't even so much as blink at the lack of his Father's figure on the battlefield.
His Father was a Rank 4 Fae Master, someone whose strength was unrivalled within Winter Rain Mountain. Even if he couldn't defeat his opponent, running away should be no problem.
And besides-
Arthur already knew the outcome of this battle. He knew what Niklos was preparing the moment the Beast King arrived on the battlefield.
He tilted his head back and turned his eyes towards the skies. They were dark, cloudy, and yet no rain or wind was summoned to the battlefield. The occasional lightning streak illuminated the clouds above, showing the faint image of something hidden behind the darkness.
"He's here".
Another howl echoed throughout Parachenko Village, this time, emanating from the heavens above.
Its strength, aggressiveness, power and ferocity matched-, no, completely exceeded the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King on all fronts!
The image of a howling wolf could be seen as another bolt of lightning illuminated the skies above. It's figure exceeded the size and strength of the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King, as a formless pressure bared down on all living things in Parachenko Village.
The beast came down from the heavens, as if a God, or a Demon from another world.
It's form was that of a wolf, but its physique, or stature was that of a humans!
It stood on two legs, with numerous sharp claws, even sharper and stronger than the Four Winged Storm Hawk that Elder Vova killed earlier.
A thick, shadowy coat of fur covered its entire body. Wisps of darkness, night and yin crawled off its enormous body, dripping down onto the earth below.
These weren't Laws, but the strength behind this transformation had undoubtably reached the realm of Laws!
This was a Transformation Attribute Control Skill! The legacy of the Kovacs Clan!
The original founder of the Kovacs Clan didn't leave much behind in terms of resources, or knowledge for the Clan to use! However, he did leave behind all of his Fae, in addition to the Attribute Control Skills which he had created over the course of his life!
This... even including a single Rank 5 Fae!
The massive, bipedal wolf collided with the earth below, its size exceeding that of the Beast King right in front of it.
The power behind such a transformation... was more than what a Rank 4 Fae Master was capable of handling!
The massive wolf turned and glanced down at the Kovacs Clan Fae Masters on the ground.
"Leave. I'll kill this beast myself".
The voice may have been distorted slightly, but all of the Fae Masters present let out a sigh of relief.
That was the Clan Leader! That was Niklos!
They didn't understand how, or even what Fae he would need to complete a transformation like this, but they didn't care!
A massive wolf, at least 50 metres tall had fallen down from the heavens and started clashing against the Beast King which invaded their home!
Arthur sighed noticing the retreating figures of Elder Vova and the rest.
"Niklos cannot make full use of this Transformation Attribute Control Skill, since he has not learnt the proper Laws that created such a Skill. Not only that, but his cultivation isn't high enough to make use of all of the Fae in the Skill to their fullest potential.... I mean, against a Beast King, it's just barely enough to defeat it".
The drawbacks from forcibly using a powerful Control Skill would definitely lead to a loss of life force.
Even if Niklos wanted to live for another hundred years, his body might only let him live half of that....
Arthur sighed before glancing around.
"This place will get levelled soon. I'll have to retreat to the other side of the Village".
A clash between a Rank 4 Fae Master using a Transformation Attribute Control Skill, and a Noxious Venom Spider Beast King.
The ignorant can no longer keep their eyes shut, now that the Truth of the World has been revealed to them.
In the eyes of the rest of the World, the Kovacs Clan are nothing "strong". Just a single Beast King has already killed more than a thousand of their Fae Masters....
Truly, this was the oldest Truth in the World, he thought.
