Chapter 104 - Noxious Venom Spider Beast King

Arthur had seen Elder Vova use this ability once before in his previous life, but back then, didn't quite fully comprehend what it mean to create an Attributed Control Skill.

He once firmly believed that since Elder Vova was only a Rank 3 Fae Master, that he couldn't even hope to come close to his Father, a Rank 4 Fae Master, but....

"Since Elder Vova has created his own style of Attribute Control, he has started to walk the path that many other Fae Masters have not. He might have even reached a Pseudo Rank 1 Law Of Wood, which is something that no other Fae Master in Parachenko Village has achieved....".

It showed that despite Elder Vova's lack of any amazing cultivation talent, his perception and comprehension towards the fundamental Laws of the World was higher than average.

His Wood Attributed Control Skill, Untainted Flower Petals was something that allowed him to instantly kill a Baron Ranked spirit beast, and countless more Knight Ranked and Lord Ranked spirit beasts.

Arthur watched as the storm of white coloured petals sliced flesh from bone, swimming through the battlefield as if tiny little fishes through a reef of coral. None of them even came close to touching any of the Kovacs Clan Fae Masters, and the morale of these Humans soared as they saw Elder Vova's ultimate attack.

Even Leon and Dominic, who were standing beside Elder Vova paused an gazed at the white coloured massacre that swept right past them. Both of them were Rank 2, and to them, the distance between Rank 2 and Rank 3 didn't seem like much, but....

'If this is the true power of a Rank 3 Fae Master, then how could we even hope to fight him?', they thought.

The tides turned, and the losses to the spirit beasts side was immense, due to the influence of Elder Vova and his Attribute Control Skill.

Arthur clapped as the white coloured petals vanished into tiny little motes of light, leaving only the large, forty metre vine to slowly shrivel up.

"What was splendid attack. However, things are only just getting started".

Another screech, far stronger, and far more ferocious echoed throughout the battlefield. The mortals who could hear this sound felt their consciousness go dizzy before those with weaker wills passed out on the spot.

Even the Rank 1 Fae Masters, who were busy fighting the Knight Ranked spirit beasts in the streets of Parachenko Village felt their Minds, Bodies and Souls tremble in the face of this unholy scream.

Somewhere in the Village, Niklos lifted his head before frowning, his figure flickering from his current position.

Everyone, no matter whether they were a mortal, Fae Master or a spirit beast trembled somewhat in the face of this screech.

The earth beneath their feet started to tremble once more, and the focus of all their attentions turned towards the oncoming creature.

Arthur stood up, not daring to act lackadaisical in front of such an existence.

His eyes narrowed, as he watched hundreds, thousands, if not tens of thousands of venom spiders rush through the forest and out into the open.

Their sizes ranging from small dogs, to large wild pigs, to even enormous elephant sized venom spiders.

Behind them, a creature more formidable and more dangerous than anything they had ever seen before.

A creature, the size of a small hill that crept through the forest silently. Its exoskeleton was thick, hardened and even stronger than tempered steel. The enormous eight legs that supported its monstrous body was covered in strong, green coloured hairs, with an equally thick amount of green viscous liquid leaking out of them.

Its mandibles were the size of cows, and its eyes were the same size as a human torso.

It drooled a black murky liquid from its mouth, dissolving whatever living creature that was unlucky enough to lie under it.

Arthur frowned, gazing at the creature in the distance.

".... Beast King....".

The Rank 2 equivalent of Rank 1 Venom Spiders were Verdant Venom Spiders.

The Rank 3 equivalent of the Rank 2 Verdant Venom Spiders were Toxic Venom Spiders.

The Rank 4 equivalent of the Rank 3 Toxic Venom Spider was the Noxious Venom Spider.

And this beast standing in the distance was a Noxious Venom Spider Beast King.

Just from a glance Arthur could tell that its intelligence was probably comparable to a young humans. It forced the other spirit beasts, not of its own kind to go out first and saved its own attack for last.

It had probably seen Elder Vova use his Attribute Control Skill and revealed himself now that he had become weakened.

It knew that after such an attack, Elder Vova would be unable to use it again so quickly and believed that now be the time to strike.

The Beast King probably had a plethora of Fae as well, one's that might amplify its natural abilities.

Arthur took a deep breath before gazing towards the sea of spiders.

Despite these spirit beasts weakness being their relatively weaker physiques in comparison to most other spirit beasts, their venom and their mobility, that is, through their webbing was top notch in their respective Ranks.

Under the influence of the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King, the vast majorities of the venom spiders stayed at a distance, and only sprayed their venom towards the Kovacs Clan Fae Masters.

Most of them had already used up the vast majority of their origin essence, and only those who purposely reserved their powers, or had first-tier talents had origin essence left over.

Those Kovacs Clan Fae Masters, who thought that they were finally pushing the spirit beasts back after Elder Vova's ultimate attack now had their hopes and dreams crushed under the immense weight and presence of the Noxious Venom Spider Beast King.

Fae Masters who didn't have any origin essence left, or any defensive fae that they could use were instantly turned into a pool of bubbling flesh and bone under the seemingly never-ending waves of venom that were spat towards them.

Elder Vova, along with both Dominic and Leon went wide eyed, and turned towards their remaining forces.

"Those Elders who can still fight! Come with me! Rank 2 Fae Masters and below, gather up and prevent the venom spiders from entering the Village!".

It was hard for Elder Vova's words to get heard over the screams and cries of those injured or those grieving, but both Leon and Dominic immediately acted upon them and started pulling back as they tried their best to rally their fellow Fae Masters.

Most of them had never seen a life or death battle before, let alone an actual warzone.

Some Fae Masters realized that they didn't care about the blood, or the scent of iron in the air.

But most, or at least the vast majority had seen their friends, their family, even their lovers killed by spirit beasts. Immense balls of hatred, anger, rage, sadness and grief had started to bubble up inside of them and most of them kept fighting, ignoring Dominic and Leon's pleas.

'The power of Hatred.... was truly something to be feared', Arthur thought.

He had no doubt that after this battle, an enormous amount of Fae would be born in the aftermath.

There wasn't anything that he couldn't make on his own, or through his own efforts, but some needed an extraordinarily large amount of blood, emotion, negativity and souls to be formed.

In fact, after this battle, Arthur would say that he "found" the blood essence gathering tree and use it to create Blood Fruits in order to make money from them.

Those Fae Masters, who now truly understood the difference in "strength" between them and the rest of the world, would crave anything that increased their strength.

Arthur took another sip of wine, throwing the now empty gourd onto the ground below.

None of them had the potential to become "demons", but they now realized the importance of strength, now more than ever.

They might not even realize it, if they accidentally made a contract with an actual "demon" in exchange for more power.
