Despite Arthur's lack of care regarding the eventual beast tide, every single Fae Master and mortal that resided within Parachenko Village, was beginning to feel the pressure and the possibility of a battle breaking out.
Mortals might be able to fight against a spirit beast if they had weapons crafted by a Blacksmith, but in a small region like Winter Rain Mountain, there wasn't anyone who could call themselves a proper "Blacksmith".
And as such, while it was the Fae Masters jobs to defend and protect the Village from oncoming attacks, mortals too had to play their parts in the defense and protection of their homes.
The Fae Masters of the Kovacs Clan swept through large swabs of land, cutting down trees and removing large amounts of wild flora within a one kilometre radius of the main gate, and the smaller sub-gates.
Mortals had to sharpen and cut down these massive trees into large barricades and defensive structures which Fae Masters could use to funnel the beast tides into a specific area.
Fae Masters and mortals alike created large trenches and filled them with a mixture of mud and flammable liquid, filling the air with a noxious scent.
Huge pits, created using Earth Attributed and Land Attributed Fae were built, with huge spikes, crafted out of bone, wood and metal could be seen littered throughout the landscape.
Slime was placed around the walls of these pits, so that beasts couldn't climb up them, forcing them to pile up on top of each other, pressing them down until they reached the numerous sharp spikes at the bottom of the pit.
Fires were placed every hundred metres, with Fae Masters patrolling through them, so as to illuminate the entire area.
Small amounts of livestock, such as cattle and sheep were used as bait in order to lure spirit beasts towards certain traps and whatnot.
Arthur nodded his head slightly, examining the wide variety of different methods the Kovacs Clan had to use against the beast tide.
They were slightly more prepared in this timeline, in comparison to their previous one. Perhaps it was Arthur who influenced, or Andrea's existence or something else.
None of it mattered.
Beast tides came with the unrelenting force of countless spirit beasts, of all different species and Ranks. They were all led by Beast Kings, whom were specially mutated spirit beasts, whom could command all spirit beasts of the same species and Rank.
Beast Kings possessed an intelligence comparable to Humans or other members of the Myriad Races, so they were definitely not to be belittled.
Beast Kings had various different abilities which made them stronger than the normal spirit beast, and those who had touched upon "that" could take Human Form.
They could learn martial arts, cultivate, reproduce, even form their own religions and philosophies, just like Humans.
They even awakened their origin essence seas, just like Humans as well. With Hatred Fae.
The only difference was, was that spirit beasts don't have Origin Fae, while Humans do.
"There isn't a single person in this generation whom has fought, or even seen a Beast King.... I mean, they aren't exactly common in the first place, but still, the Kovacs Clan won't be able to understand how dangerous they are".
Their physical strength exceeded Fae Masters at the same level. Their lifespans were several times higher than Fae Masters. On average, their origin essence seas were much higher than human Fae Masters as a whole.
They could learn languages. And even undergo ascension, becoming Beast Immortals.
They weren't a member of the Myriad Races, but after Humans, they were the closest thing to it.
The Kovacs Clan was preparing to fight against a beast tide, not an army of beasts.
The difference was, was that an army was ordered, sending out the mortal Rank beasts and Rank 1 spirit beasts first, slowly whittling down the enemies strength and morale.
Then, would come the proper attack.
A coordinated strike with baron Ranked and even count Ranked spirit beasts.
Those were equivalent to Rank 3 and Rank 4 Fae Masters.
Of course, not all of them possessed Fae.
Arthur shook his head, glancing towards the massive wooden obstacles that the Fae Masters were moving in order to create a kill box.
It wasn't that the Kovacs Clan wasn't prepared, it was just as Arthur said before.
They were too ignorant. Too ignorant about the immensity of the Thirty Three Heavens and the number of existences that live within them.
Rules that they might think absolute possess numerous exceptions, and existences that they thought were myths, or legends actually ended up being true.
Arthur rolled his eyes, turning back towards the front of the room.
".... remember to always aim for universal weak points like the eyes or the neck. Attacking soft points like the genitals or the ears work also, but don't prove to be a fatal hit. With regards to special spirit beasts, like Venom Spiders or even Corrosive Land Worms, aim for the main head with the former, and a weak point roughly a foot down from the tip of its head for the latter. Now, lets move onto avian spirit beasts".
Arthur let out a small sigh as his attention moved back towards the huge amounts of mortals and Fae Masters working outside.
To be honest, he had almost forgotten the importance that these groups of people placed on defensive structures and building defences.
There were numerous Fae which Arthur could list, which provided a much better, and a much stronger defensive might than just a reinforced wooden construct.
Some were even the Clan that they just didn't want to use.
It partially showed the motivations of the upper echelons of the Clan, but also their treatment towards these Fae Masters and mortals whom they promised to take care of.
"You do everything in your power to keep us all safe, while I'll keep all of the power and the glory once it is all done.... or something like that".
The Kovacs Clan wasn't exactly like this, but most large Sects and Clans were.
Power, in any shape or form was coveted by everyone.
Political power was the most popular, followed by actual strength in Arthur's opinion.
As a former leader of a not-so small Clan, Arthur understood the importance of protecting the future of his heritage, as well as political posturing. Hiding behind a veil of righteousness was the best way to get a hot blooded young man to fight with his life on the line for him.
It was used throughout human history, and would continue to be used so long as sentient life existed.
Using Rank 1 and Rank 2 Fae Masters to deal with the knight Ranked and lord Ranked spirit beasts.
And using Rank 3 Fae Masters and Rank 4 Fae Masters to deal with the baron Ranked and count Ranked spirit beasts.
So on and so forth....
It made sense, but when you think about it a group of Rank 3 Fae Masters could sweep straight through a bunch of knight Rank and lord Rank spirit beasts like it was nothing.
It wouldn't just save their lives, but also preserve their future battle strength.
Of course, Kovacs Clan thought they were fighting one battle, not two but that didn't matter.
A war was a war, no matter how many battles there were.
Arthur glanced towards Andrea for a moment before letting out a small breath muttering as his hand covered his mouth.
"If anything fucking happens to her.... I swear to Twilight Obscurity I'll burn this whole damn Village to the ground".
