During the time that Arthur was collecting the Body Sea Fae and the Forest Reverse Fae, Niklos had called Dominic and the other Elders together in order to hold an emergency meeting.
It was a little strange for Dominic to be present in a meeting where only Elders could participate, but with him being a peak Rank 2 Fae Master, as well as the next Clan Leader, most thought that he would just observe, and watch how a Clan Leader should act in front of the Elders.
Elder Velika and Elder Vova also participated in this meeting, although neither one knew what the Clan Leader wanted to discuss.
Some of the more low ranking Elders muttered amongst themselves, not being able to help themselves to a little idle gossip.
"It's probably about the sudden influx of refugees our Village has been received lately".
"With the existence of a spy and Elder Stas being a traitor, no wonder the number of guards and sentries around the Village has increased".
"Although, from what I can gather the other larger Villages, like where the Marina Clan is located has also experienced this. They are also a righteous existence, so they won't turn back mortals seeking shelter within their walls".
Some Elders appeared slightly excited. This small number of Elders, while normally either neutral or often against the actions of the Clan Leader couldn't help but reveal a small smile as they took their seats.
Most of those high ranking Elders, like Elder Vova, and Elder Velika didn't know what this meeting was about.
Alina's grandfather, Elder Zarek, and Borik's grandfather Elder Sagan both took their seats, glancing towards some of the other Elders with questioning looks on their faces.
Niklos and Dominic entered the Elder Hall, and Dominic took his place on the outskirts of the Elder Hall, letting his father return to his seat at the front of the room.
Niklos smiled before a moment, his eyes glancing all around the room.
"I'm sure you're all wondering why I have summoned everyone here today".
His tone was playful, not like his normal stern and domineering self.
Elder Velika raised an eyebrow, and sent a glance towards Elder Zarek and Elder Sagan, both of whom returned the look with one of their own.
It seems none of them knew what the Clan Leader had summoned them for.
Niklos unconsciously nodded before gesturing for Dominic to come forward.
"I bring a piece of news, and an announcement which will allow our Clan to grow stronger, and flourish for the next generation, and every generation to come!".
Dominic stood tall and released a Fae from his origin essence sea, handing it towards his Father with all the respect of the next Clan Leader.
All the Elders in the room eyed the Fae carefully, none of them going wide eyed or shocked as they gazed at this small deep blue coloured tree.
Elder Velika raised an eyebrow, and couldn't restrain herself from asking.
"Clan Leader, if you called us all here today to show off a new Fae you have discovered, then why don't you just cut to the chase? I'm sure the vast majority of us want to know what ability this fae has that has gotten you so worked up?".
Elder Sagan, as well as Elder Zarek both nodded.
Normally they were neutral in regards to the differences in opinion between the Clan Leader and Elder Velika, but the Clan Leader seemed.... somewhat different today.
He was normally strong, and a pillar of support for the entire Clan. His strength is what allowed them to follow him, but that didn't meant that they had to support his every word and action.
The Clan Leader.... no, Niklos seemed.... too pleased with himself today.
Niklos smiled slightly before waving Elder Velika off.
"Since you're all so eager to know just what this Fae is, know beforehand that it was Dominic who found it. I cannot claim that I found the Fae, only that I know what its ability is".
Niklos smiled for a moment before lifting the Ocean Vein Tree above his head, allowing all the Elders, even the ones at the back of the room to see it.
"To be honest, not even I know the name of this fae, only what it can do for the Clan".
"This Fae's ability, Elder Velika, is to create an artificial spiritual vein wherever the Fae Master plants it".
Elder Sagan stood up, and slammed his hands on the table. His eyes wide, and his mouth dropped as he gazed towards the Ocean Vein Tree.
"T-That's impossible! It just can't be!".
Elder Sagan seemed sure that this Fae couldn't exist, and neither could most of the other Elders.
Spiritual veins were created by the essence of the heavens and the earth. How could a Fae, even an existence which is also created by the heavens and the earth possess the same powers as one?
However-.
Just its very existence had already begun to plant seeds within the minds of most of the Elders.
It didn't matter if it didn't work, that wouldn't really change anything.
But....
If it was true, then-.
Niklos nodded once more.
"You can doubt my words, all of you. But know that when I plant this Fae within the boundaries of Parachenko Village, you will all pay very dearly for your doubt".
Some of the Elders, even Elder Velika seemed slightly hesitant at Niklos' confidence.
If the Clan Leader was so sure, then why would he have a reason to lie about it? Especially in front of all these other Elders as well?
That was when-.
"Clan Leader, my newest grandson is about to born within the next few weeks. Can I ask, when you plan on planting this Fae?".
The seeds within their minds started to take root.
Niklos smiled before turning to one of the other Elders.
It was Elder Stavros. One of the Elders in charge of the Weapons Hall.
He might not be the Head Weapons Hall Elder, but still, his authority in the Clan was still much higher than most of the other Elders.
Niklos nodded.
"I plan on planting it within the coming days. I need to make sure the location where I plant it is secure. After all, once I do plant it, I won't be able to move it ever again".
Elder Stavros nodded.
Most of these Elders present were either grandparents, or had started to become grandparents. Their descendents that hadn't been born, could have the chance to be born under a spiritual vein, increasing their innate talents from the get go.
If their descendents could possess a greater strength then the future of their lineage wouldn't be forgotten!
Not to mention, it would also allow them to compete for greater strength and authority within the Clan!
Even Elder Velika seemed slightly envious.
"It is only a Rank 1 Fae, so it's range doesn't exceed a few kilometres. I know that Parachenko Village itself takes up a few hundred square kilometres, so I must take care when planting this Fae".
Most of the Elders grew hesitant, and some even sighed, applauding the Clan Leader's little scheme.
These Elders usually had huge plots of land, reserved by the Clan for them and their descendents. They usually lived on the outskirts of the Village, and grew their own livelihoods, like Fae materials, and other daily necessities on their land like crops and livestock.
Since this Fae only had a range of a few kilometres, they would definitely not be within the boundary, meaning that they would need permission in order to use its effects.
Most of the Elders peered towards Niklos, shaking their heads while letting out a sigh.
To think that you could teach an old dog new tricks, they all thought.
Dominic let out a deep breath, appearing confident, and unyielding, just like Arthur said he should.
His brother had planned this entire thing, from him and his father meeting up with Elder Stavros and some others, all the way to mentioning the maximum range of this Ocean Vein Tree.
Everything had gone according the plan.
Even if Elder Velika or Elder Sagan wanted to say something, they would still have to be slightly reserved in front of a Rank 4 Fae Master.
They didn't even have the ability to talk back, or even negotiate for the rights of the Fae.
Since it was "Dominic" who found it, these Elders might be able to take such a thing off him, but since he had already given it to Niklos, there was nothing they could do but try and negotiate for the rights to use it!
Not only did it boost the innate talents of their descendents, but it also increased the growth rate of Water Attributed Fae materials!
Didn't that meant that Niklos, as well as his descendents would always have a constant stock of Fae materials? Increasing their wealth even further?
Dominic shook his head, letting out a small sigh.
His younger brother was good to his family, but too guarded against other people.
Dominic shrugged his shoulders and shook his head again.
'I suppose that's why I'll be the next Clan Leader. If Arthur and Leon can help me, then nothing would be impossible for the Kovacs Clan!'.
