Chapter 76 - With the change in season comes a change in oneself

Another few months passed in Parachenko Village. It was the beginning of the rainy season in Winter Rain Mountain, and the flowing of rivers and the surging torrents exploded in certain regions, leading to both flooding and damage to some areas.

Ever year around this time, the water levels in Winter Rain Mountain rise significantly, leading to a decrease in the amount of flora and mammals, while a drastic increase to the number of aquatic lifeforms, such as fish and some aquatic plants.

Parachenko Village was formed near a cliffside, so the dangers of flooding was almost non-existent. However, the areas around the Village would need to be monitored, in case anything unexpected occurred.

Things such as the formations of new rivers, or sudden rises in Fae in certain areas.

There was one year where a section of the Falling Snow River rose and caused an offshoot to pass by one of the other Villages in the area.

The experienced several years of bountiful geniuses and lots of new Fae in their Clan Reserves, only to be wiped out in a single night by a larger Sect.

The rules of the Azure Envy Continent were absolute. No-one was to set up a Clan or Sect on the banks of any of the 13 Famous Rivers.

Even if it was just an accident....

Even though the rising waters caused damage to some of the outskirts of the Clan territory, Arthur's "seeds" had yet to be touched. The waters wouldn't rise that high this year, and most of them were of the long term benefits, in that they hadn't been readied yet.

Of course, some of them were ready.

Arthur stood tall and steady by the embankment of a newly formed river. With the sole exception of a pair of shorts, his body was completely naked.

He was tall, and now sixteen years old. Without the burly, muscly figure of the Kovacs Clan bloodline, his physique was skinny, compact more suited to swimming than bare knuckle brawling.

He smiled slightly before activating several different fae at once.

Instantly his body shone with a brightly quartz coloured light, as his physique changed significantly.

From out of his tailbone, a large, thick scaled tail grew out, measuring just under two metres long.

Arthur's hands and feet became enlarged, his fingers growing thicker, and webbing started to form in between each of his phalanges. His nails grew slightly longer, tougher, and much more sharper as they took on a faintly yellow colour.

His arms and legs underwent transformations as well. They didn't shrink, or become smaller, but instead grew a thick layer of jagged scales over them. Its colour was a greenish-brown, perfect for the environment around Winter Rain Mountain.

His chest and back grew scales as well. These one's much thicker, and much more tougher than the ones on his arms and legs. His belly was the only exception to this as the scales around there were thinner, more flat than anything else.

Arthur's eyes underwent a change as well. They became slitted, and another layer of eyelid appeared, this one translucent, as if appearing like a pair of goggles rather than a protective layer.

Finally, the skin on Arthur's face also changed, becoming scaled, and much thicker than what normal human skin allowed. This protective scales weren't nearly as thick as the ones on his back, but were still thicker than the scales on his belly.

Arthur smiled slightly before jumping in the water. The effects of all these transformation Fae allowed Arthur to take on the traits of a fresh water crocodile.

Crocodile Tail Fae...

Crocodile Claws Fae...

Crocodile Arms Fae...

Crocodile Legs Fae....

Crocodile Eyes Fae...

Crocodile Scales Fae....

Not to mention an Air Bubble Fae which allowed Arthur to breathe underwater.

Opening his eyes underwater Arthur could see everything within a several metre distance. Tucking his legs and arms by his side, Arthur used his tail to propel himself through the water, moving at speeds exceeding that of a Rank 1 Fae Master.

Arthur came across a school of fish, one of which was emanating the aura of a knight Ranked spirit beast.

The large carp also noticed Arthur and rushed forward to attack him with its large body, but-.

There was a bright flash of silver underneath the water and this large knight Ranked spirit beast found itself bisected straight down the middle.

A small bright blue coloured light was released from its body, but Arthur caught it just before it escaped.

His brows rose at the appearance of the fae.

"Stream Fae? Not bad, I'll give it to Robert in exchange for some Fae materials....".

Over the past few months Arthur had fully invested in the coming of the beast tide. The water levels in Winter Rain Mountain had risen significantly, so the rise of the creatures living in those waters was inevitable.

Once they reached a point where they couldn't stay in the water anymore, they would move up onto land and attack the surrounding Villages.

These Fae Masters, who were used to battling on land were suddenly forced to battle in extremely wet and sometimes underwater environments.

They had the disadvantage in the terrain and despite most of them trying to use Electric or Thunder Attributed Fae, there just wasn't enough to go around.

But Arthur on the other hand-.

"If I had the Crocodile Head Fae and the Crocodile Lungs Fae things would be perfect. Unfortunately, the materials for either of them don't appear in the region....".

He sighed.

Picking up the two pieces of meat on the river floor, Arthur dragged them both up to the surface before throwing them onto the shore.

Before Arthur even managed to lift himself out of the river, two large blood coloured tendrils lifted themselves out of the ground and pierced the two pieces of meat that Arthur placed down.

Within a matter of minutes, all the blood from either of these pieces were drained completely, and those blood coloured tendrils vanished back underneath the ground.

Deactivating his Fae, Arthur smiled as he kicked the dead fish back into the water, letting it sink to the bottom of the riverbed.

He turned towards the extremely large, blood coloured tree beside him, and patted it slightly, causing its blood leaves to shake in happiness.

This tree was obviously the blood essence gathering tree.

After the debacle with Elder Stas, Arthur was now free to roam around the forests outside the Clan, without having to worry of being spied upon.

As soon as the rainy season arrived, Arthur planted the blood essence gathering tree and immediately started gathering spirit beasts to feed to the fae.

He hadn't yet gathered enough to form even a single Blood Fruit, but still, there was plenty of time for everything....

Sitting down next to the tree, Arthur closed his eyes for a moment and started cultivating.

Under the effects of both bloodseeker leaf fae and the vein limit fae, Arthur's origin essence regeneration had reached a point where it exceeded a Rank 1 Fae Master, and could only be beaten by someone with a Sovereign Boundary Physique.

His solid origin essence, took up the entirety of his origin essence sea, despite being only 201%, but traces of it expanding even further could be seen!

He smiled.

Within the next few days, he would reach hadron quartz origin essence!
