My name is Zephyrina MacQuoid, a girl the age of 14 and I live in Washington D.C..I used to be the happiest person on earth until my mom got remarried. The guy she was dating used to be really nice but now he's not. He's living with us now and every day when my mom goes to work I go and hide in my room or take a Really. Long. Walk. Why, you might ask, because he would threaten me or hurt me so I've decided I want to avoid that. I have bruises because of him. I've tried telling my mom but she doesn't think he would do such a thing because she is never home to see what happens, she's always at work.
One day I was in my room and my mom came home from work early. Her new husband (Which I'm not going to name) was sitting on the couch watching football. He was drunk though, not like usual, but he was. My mom came to sit next to him and he hit her right across the face saying she got in his way of the game. My mom asked why he would do such a thing then the next thing you know is he gets up stares her straight into the eye and hits her again to the point her nose starts to bleed. I called the cops on him and the police station is right around the corner so they came quick. He was arrested for harming both me and my mom. Then later they found out he has been harming many people in the past.
