Chapter 6 - Can't Eat Half-Cooked Food Anymore

"What are you doing wifey? We already told you not to do any chores. We will take care of everything." Li Wei said as he followed Da Xia into the small kitchen.

Da Xia turned around to look at her husband who was still looking ethereal in his dark blue robes and the hair which was falling down his right shoulder and back.

It's been two days since she found herself transmigrated in her own two-chapter story. In the past two days, she had started to act normal around the two ghosts who didn't leave her alone for a single minute.

It was a good thing that they lived on the outskirts of the village and there were not many houses near them. Otherwise, people would have labeled her as a psycho for talking to no one all day.

She had tried several times to find out exactly what happened when the Agent came to assassinate the Demon Princes, but of course, neither of them was giving her any answers.

In return, they always ended up asking about why she ordered her to kill them. At this, she had no other choice but to shut up.

"Listen, I get no pleasure in eating that half-cooked food of yours. For the past two days, I've been on the verge of puking out everything. Please, I'll be delighted if you will let me cook food for myself from now on." She tried to stay as polite as possible, or maybe not.

However, just thinking about her struggle in gulping down the food in the past two days almost made tears appear in her eyes.

She looked up at Li Wei and noticed the hurt that immediately appeared in his dark obsidian eyes at her words.

Damn it! She was already filled with guilt for being the reason for their death, and now she was even hurting them with her stupid words. When did she become so rude?

"Look, it's not like I don't appreciate your hard work. I'm deeply touched after seeing how both of you are willing to accept me as your wife after everything that happened, and you want to take care of me. I'm sorry if I hurt you." Da Xia tried to speak in a soft tone this time.

She was actually sorry about her behavior. As far as she knew, Li Wei was two years old and Li Jun was barely a month old when they both were left at the doorsteps of an old widow who lived in the Jia Province.

Li Wei was fifteen and Li Jun was thirteen when the old widow died due to a chronic illness. Since then both the princes had been living alone, earning their livelihoods by farming in their two small fields behind their old hut.

The hut was made of one bedroom, a kitchen, a toilet, and a small courtyard with a well in it.

The two young boys who have been living on their own since a very young age, how could they be fluent in household work? There was no one to teach them what they were doing wrong.

Da Xia felt sadness overtaking her heart. Why did she give them such a sad past? Wasn't everything that happened with the Princes or was currently happening - all her fault?

"Aww, wifey is so pretty when she's worried about us."

The chirpy voice that entered her ears as a warm body covered her from behind, pulled Da Xia out of her thoughts. Without even turning around, she knew that it was Li Jun who was hugging her from behind. Her younger husband loved to give her back hugs, a lot.

At first, she was not comfortable with their proximity. It was weird to be hugged by two men who were complete strangers to her. However, as she realized that their touches were as innocent as they could be, she started relaxing.

Moreover, out of the two princes, Li Jun was more cheery in comparison to Li Wei. The older prince was more of a caring and calm kind of person. Probably, the harshness of his life and being the only caretaker of his younger brother for years had taken away these small happiness away from his life.

"Who said that I'm worried? Don't start assuming on your own." Da Xia told Li Jun as she let out a huff.

"No need to hide it, wifey. I know that you were worried about making big brother feel sad with your words. I can see it in your eyes and the sudden way in which you tried to make him understand that you actually appreciate him taking care of you." Li Jun said as he softly chuckled after seeing the sudden appearance of scarlet on his wife's cheeks. He felt a sudden urge in his heart to bite those round puffy cheeks that were luring him toward them, but he hurriedly shook his head to get rid of such weird thoughts.

"What happened to you Jun'er? Why are you drenched in water like that?" Li Wei asked with worry as his eyes took in the state of his younger brother.

Until two days ago, he only had his younger brother to take care of but then they got married to the daughter of the Chen family from a small village near Jia Province.

He wanted someone who could take care of his younger brother in his absence while he was away working in fields and the nearby forest to earn more money for them. Little did he know that the appearance of a weird woman would change everything in just a few moments. Not only both of them died but their wife also lost her life just after one hour of their marriage.

He did not expect for their soul to remain wandering in their small house and then another miracle happened when they once again got another soul who entered into the body of their dead wife.

Their dead wife person promised him that their new wife would take care of him and his brother from the bottom of her heart, before taking her last breath. At first, he was quite suspicious since their new wife was also their real murderer. But now...
