Chapter 192 - Six days under - Part 2

Day 4

Today is a new day, I think. Like I said before, I haven't seen the sunlight, but I believe it has been four days, thanks to the guard who is always coming at every 24 clocks, or hours if we consider the people wearing watches. Anyway, after the guard gave me the meal, I tried to speak with Greuceanu, the boy at my age who is on the other cell, but he gave me no response today. He probably got tired and decided to sleep more.

On this day all I did was to sit on my bed and looked at my ceiling, imaging some adventures I would've done with Fiona and my other friends from Kingdom of Romania. This helped me feel happy, but sad after I realized a thing like this didn't happen in real life, only in my head. Hope Fiona is alright on the Kingdom without my healing spell.

Day 5

The guard came into this floor for the fifth time. He goes to my cell, he threw my food there, and he tells me, while I am looking at the food, and I was about to eat that chicken meat.

"Tomorrow you will be taken from this prison."

"Really?" I ask the guard.

"We have gotten official knights from the Kingdom, who came to us, and showed that you are truly working as knights to the King Julius."

"Why aren't you getting us out now?"

"Sorry. That is how the procedure is working." and he is heading to the door, but he stopped after I told him.

"You forgot the food for Greuceanu!"

"Greuceanu?" asks the guard looking confused at me. "there is only you on this prison."

"No, there should be-" I look at the cell where Greuceanu was supposed to be, and I found it empty. "There..."

"I have no idea what are you talking about. There is nobody there." says the guard to me, and he left me there, with the light of the lamp on.

I am looking at the cell where Gruceanu was supposed to be. I kept looking at the cell for a while. After that, I tried to call his name a few times, but to no response. The guy at my age named Greuceanu did not respond to my call... Maybe it was all of my imagination... Or did I dream all this time...

I looked at the same cell for a few more moments, then, I decided to head to my bed and try to sleep the rest of the day, or the night. As I was in the bed, I couldn't sleep only after a few minutes, I was still thinking about the thing that was on the same floor with me, whether it was real or not.

Day 6

The day of leaving has come.

The same guard as he come every day to my floor appeared, holding a pack of keys on a chain. He insert one key to the door of the cell I am staying, and he opens it. As he opened the cell, he looked at me, and he told me, as I took a look at the cell in front of me, still thinking at the thing it was there.

"There is a spirit there, boy."

"A spirit?" I ask the guard.

"A long time ago, before I came into this prison, a young boy, named Greuceanu, has been arrested and put on this prison, for doing a lot of bad things, here in this Bran Village. We have kept him for a few days, until he managed to escape, and the guards were all running after him. Only a few days after his escape, he got caught and threw back to his cell, having a higher sentence than last time for escaping and stealing belongings of peasants. He has done a lot of escapes, and we always managed to capture every single time. But one day, one morning we found his body there."

"How he died?" I asked the guard after a few moments while the two of us took a look at the cell.

"No idea." says the guard. "Some people tell it was a suicide. Others tell that he got poisoned by food. Others also tell the kid was a spirit who only took the body of the boy and use it to his own gain."

"I see. But why you were putting the food to the cell there?"

"Food?" asks the guard, and he goes to the cell, he takes the lamp from the lamppost, and he used it to look carefully on the interior of the cell.

There, are a countless plate, all with food who was brought yesterdays, weeks, days, months or even years ago. The guard was looking shocked at this, and he looks back at Judah.

"Is this some kind of prank to you?"

"What? No!" I said to the guard. "This is no park. You were the one who always brought food to that cell. How you cannot remember."

"Weird... Anyway, let's leave. This place gives me the creeps."

We are leaving the floor, not saying anything about the thing we have all encountered on this floor.
