Chapter 59 - Fight yet to start

Elisa smiled looking at her pale face and whispered,

"I will be leaving now."

As she took out the trap and napkin, Mia held her hand and shook her head.

For some unknown reasons, Mia was feeling anxious and happy at the same time.

"Sorry but I don't want to be a third wheel."

Patting her head, Elisa took her bag and turned around.

Greeting him with a nod, she left the room.

He walked and sat beside her.

"How are you?"

"Good. Better now."

"Hmm."

Silence prevailed as he just continued to hold her hand and scroll through his phone.

Mia was annoyed with the silence but was too scared to start a conversation. She was afraid if he dared to bring the topic which she never wanted too.

She peeked and so him working on some file. She sighed at his workaholic mood. Even though she had guessed him postponing all his work of the last three days, she felt bad for making him worry. But deep inside there was a part which was holding her back from asking what her mind throbbed all these hours.

His sudden phone ring startled her and brought her back from the train of thoughts.

"I will attend this."

She nodded and he walked towards the transparent wall showcasing the skyrockets and city buzz with the sun slowly going back to its home.

Minutes later.

Taking a few deep breaths, Mia got down the bed and walked towards him.

Thanks to Elisa's lecture, she did what her heart wanted. Hugging hid back as tightly as she could, she closed her eyes.

Surprised by the sudden hug, Ian turned around and hugged her back easing the anxious heart which was afraid of losing him.

He lightly stroked her cheek and continued to speak.

"Hmm."

"If not an emergency send all the unattended files back home."

"Let Jose carry them to the hospital."

"Hmm."

Hanging up his phone, he looked at her cheeky smile and his lips curled up.

Looking up at him, she questioned,

"Are you angry?"

Kissing her forehead lightly, he answered,

"Why would I be?"

"Then are you upset?"

"Does my gestures portray that?" He answered back with a question.

"So meaning you don't mind me killing so many people? You aren't going to break up with me for,"

Placing his finger on her lips, he answered

"Ssshhh. Why is that you always run your mind wild?"

"I am not angry or upset instead I am proud of you being able to protect yourself. Seeing you strong and independent is what al I wish for."

Her lips curled up and she hugged him tightly ignoring the pain awakened due to that tight hug.

Kissing her forehead, he looked at her barefoot and frowned.

Carefully lifting up in her arms, he carried her to the bed. Surprised and touched by his gesture, Mia smiled.

She knew meeting him, of course, wasn't the worst decision at all. While he was happy that she had finally considered their relationship not just through contract but through her heart.

...

She moved a little and patted the space beside her.

"I still have a meeting to attend and,"

"If you won't I will follow you where ever you go." She cut him with a cheeky reply.

With a silly smile, he shook his head and played beside her.

She hesitated but still hugged him and adjusting in his embrace.

"Can I get your phone?"

He nodded and passed it.

"Password."

"Your birthday and mine." Scratching his head, he answered.

Chuckling a bit, she looked at him and questioned

"Why do I feel like I have a girlfriend more than a boyfriend?" He wanted to slay his words but constrained letting her do her work.

Scrolling through his phone, she searched Jose and messaged him,

"I won't be receiving any official calls nor will I attend any meetings for the next two days. To be precise, I am taking two days to leave. Do not

disturb me and if you do I will chop your head."

"Haha, your way of texting is way different than mine. Let me do it."

Shaking her head, she mumbled,

"Let him know that their boss is controlled by someone else."

"But I will at least go through a few projects."

"No, look at your eyes. They are begging for sleep."

"Are you worried about me?"

He asked and as expected he got a cheeky reply.

"Idiot, taking care of boyfriend is my duty and as per contract clauses I need to do it."

"Now Now Now, close your eyes." She placed her hand on his eyes and retracted it once she closed his eyes.

"How you want me to punish her?"

She sighed at his question. As guessed it was sure Isla and was later confirmed by Elisa.

"No need. I am sure brother would have already cut his business ties with her family. That's a huge price to pay."

"What about that Clan?"

"Hehe, don't worry Master has his own way of treating them."

"Means he will kill them?"

Shaking her head, she snuggled and answered,

"He will train them better."

"You mean?" His curious mind couldn't hold back.

"train them to better, to be strong than before in our underworld."

"To be a better gangster?"

She remained silent.

"But I feel like they should be provided with a new life. To live like a normal citizen."

She sighed deeply sure enough even he viewed the Han clan in a different way like everyone else.

"Ok, you will prison them for years and later release them. And after that? Who will feed them? Who will take care of their family? Your government?"

"Of course, if they apply for a job or do any business they will surely lead a good life."

"Hmm, will you love to take a one-time gangster as your driver? Even if, will you ever able to trust them properly? To treat in the same as eyes as you treat other workers?"

"I don't know. But I never liked your master, to be honest. And I don't know why dad treat him nicely when in actual fact he should have long back cut their ties. Having a don as your best friend won't do any good."

"Then having me as your girlfriend? What you wanna say about that?"

Her voice was much stronger than it was before. She of course never loved hearing such things from people who merely knew her master.

Sensing the fight yet to start, he tried to stay silent.

When it came to Arthur for some reasons his mouth would slip from his mind and speak only what it always wanted to.

He knew one day this would cost something precious and it to be his love was what he never expected!
