"Who are you?" Charlotte inquired the boy.
"One with permission to enter this palace." Throwing aside his bag, he took off his mask.
"Such an arrogant brat." Even Kiara couldn't stop complaining.
Felix was the only one sitting clam and cool waiting for the show to start.
"Looking at your features, you more seem like, " Noah caressed his chin.
"Sorry I am not interested in men." Everyone gasped at his words.
"You You You what did you say?" Noah walked towards him.
"You were the one ogling me so, " The guy crossed his arms and looked at Isla and her mother.
"So what were you saying?"
"Hmm, Mia is lucky. Huh, Lucky my foot. How can you just cook stories?"
His expression turned darker.
"When your elite daughter was playing with toys, she was given rifles to play with. And, you know what? She started her training at the age of 4, unlike your filial daughter."
"Getting up three in the morning and training till 8 and then rushing for her tutors and then again rushing to the battlegrounds right at 4 pm and training all night. And later on, practising ballets, judo, homework until her eyes could constrain. Yes, she was lucky to have such a beautiful childhood."
"And not only that, getting into pre-medical school with her perfect scores and still coping the rigorous training, yes she was lucky to enjoy such an amazing Teenhood. To add up, taking care of everyone around her, her father her brother, her friends and the Han clan, yes she was damm lucky."
"Balancing her personal and professional life, gambling risks with disasters, happiness with survival, yes she was lucky to be able to survive all the missions, the deadly missions."
"And not to forget, managing her brother's health and her father's tight schedules at the age of 12, yes she was lucky. If not her, The great CEO Mervin wouldn't be able to maintain his handsome face all this year."
"And yes she was lucky to endure everything, to take care of everyone around right from childhood. And lucky enough to survive without a mother, lucky enough to fulfil her mother's role in others life. Yes, she was indeed very lucky. Right, President Uncle?"
"Huh, can someone pour me a cup of water. The speech was longer than I expected."
"Ren?" Mia's voice echoed in the numb hall.
He turned around with a smile.
Mia squealed and rushed towards him.
Hugging him tightly, she started squealing in excitement.
"Oh God, Oh God, are you real?" She pinched his cheeks.
"Arghhh, I am not a child. Stop squishing my cheeks."
Everyone just looked at the scene baffled.
"I missed you so much." Hugging him tightly, she noticed the confused souls and smiled.
"Come Come, let me introduce you."
"Aunty, Uncle this is my younger brother Aren Brown."
Felix smiled and patted the space beside him.
"Go Go Go, greet uncle."
Aren lazily sat beside him and Mia sat beside him.
"How old he is?" Isla was the first to question.
"11." Aren answered not caring to give her a look.
"But your mother?"
"I am her adopted brother. Do you have a problem with it?" He glared at Isabella.
"Huh, stop being arrogant. These people are close to dad, so behave."
"As if you give them a face." Aren glanced the sulking ladies and smirked.
"Ohh, wait are you the same kid?" Charlotte squatted in front of him.
"He is." Felix answered patting Lil Aren's head.
"Aunty, you can't sit down." Getting up, Aren made her sit beside Felix and he sat on Mia.
"Hahaha, what you are still a kid?" Mia ruffled his hair.
"Omg, he is so big now." Charlotte held his hand and adored the guy.
"Mom, Dad who is he?" Noah questioned with a pout.
"He is the second heir of the Brown family. Remember once we visited the military base and I told about a small kid running around General Steven?" Charlotte smiled.
Noah and Kiara nodded.
"He is the same one."
"To clear your muddled heads, I am a far relatives son to Mr.Steven Brown aka my father and since my parents wanted to divorce and none wanted me, I was adopted into Browm family at the age of four. Sister wanted to adopt me but she was too small so Dada made me her younger brother rather than her son."
"But I am still her baby. Right?" He hugged her tightly.
Chuckling out loud, Mia nodded.
"So you are the small homeless puppy which Mr.Brown adopted years ago." Isabella smirked.
"Mrs.Maragert, mind your words. He is my brother." Mia's expression darkened.
"Your car is ready." Felix's words made them red in embarrassment.
They bid their way with a weak smile.
"So, tell me more about you." Charlotte looked at the guy.
"I am still schooling in the city A but I will move in a month or two here."
"He is a gangster good for none. You shouldn't dot him, aunty." Mia teased to which he pouted.
"But why are you here? Dada didn't inform me."
"Hehe, I wanted to surprise you. But President Uncle knew about my arrival."
"But your school?"
"Sista, did you forget children have spring break?"
"But you wanted to go abroad right? With your Friends?"
"But I wanted to see my sister first, so showed up."
Their banter continued and Felix's mood skyrocketed with his arrival.
But Lil Kai was the least happy. How could he see someone else on Mia's lap?
...
Later that night.
"Surgery was postponed so I wanted to, " Mia scratched her head.
It was the first time she had called him and the feeling was weird.
"You want to prepone or postpone?" He asked brows creased in disappointment.
"Let's meet today at 8 if you are free?"
"Sure."
Exchanging the address, she cut the call with a sigh.
"Let's do it, Mia." Rubbing her hands, she took a few deep breaths and went inside.
...
"Huh?" Elisa frowned.
"Babe, are you going on a date or a meeting?"
Looking at her suit, She frowned deeper.
"But, " Mia pouted.
"Change into something else."
"It's just a normal meet so why, "
"Change or else I will let Aren know, "
"Ok ok, I am going."
Changing into a pair of casual ripped jeans and a tee, she drove to the venue.
The whole restaurant was booked and she sighed deeply.
Sure enough, it was good to be a low key Richie Rich.
"Ma'am, sir would be here in an hour." An assistant greeted her.
The whole area was covered with black bodyguards.
"Meeting the future president outside is highly troublesome." She mumbled walking towards the top floor.
...
"You are here." He walked and took a seat in front of her.
She nodded with a smile.
"Sorry, I had a meeting and it took a while."
"No no, it's completely ok. I should be the one to apologize for this extra trouble."
It was weird to meet him outside. There was some lingering casualty but the five-year-long gap separated them far apart especially to Mia it was an unusual meet.
"You ordered something?" He gestured his hand and lanterns around them were lit up reaping a gasp from Mia.
Closing her wide mouth, Mia blinked in surprise.
"You didn't like it?" He propped his hand and looked at her.
"No No, I didn't expect this." Waving her hands, she replied.
The lanterns on the floor around them and the low mellow violin brought a satisfactory smile on his face.
It was their first date and he wanted to make it special.
Looking at bustling bright city behind him, she sighed.
"Since you are here, let's talk business first."
Taking out a file from her backpack, the passed it to him.
"What is it?"
"A contract."
"Contract?" Taking the file, he looked at her.
