Chapter 1 - Prologue He Dumped Her

IT was 7.30 PM when Aghalya left home with her boyfriend. They were attending a friend's wedding together in Klang. Aghalya dressed up in a pretty pink saree with a hint of yellow. The colour suited her well as she was fair skinned. Not too fair but just right.

Arun, a 28 year old businessman was driving his 5-series BMW, heading towards Klang. He and Aghlaya have been dating for a year, and the love was just beginning to heat up. Both families are in talks to get them engaged. While Aghalya seems excited at the prospect, Arun has been busy with his work to properly decide on the best date.

"Aghalya, are we ready to be engaged? I mean, do you want to get married this early? My career is just beginning. I have to run a business. Money matters to me. Please talk to your mother and make her understand that," Arun said.

"Every mother wants her child to get married early, Arun. I am 25 and still unwed. Our families are only talking about our engagement, not wedding. That is for us to decide," said Aghalya.

"I do not want to get tied down before I am ready to commit," he said again.

Aghalya felt hurt. "Are you having commitment issues? Or do you have someone else?" She asked, nostrils flaring.

"Look, I want to have options, okay? I meet many people everyday. During parties, business meetings, and conferences. And you meet people too, at the hospital you work in. I just need time to think. I want to make the best choices in my life. I want the best of everything, Aghalya," Arun said.

"I am not the best one for you?"

"You may not be the best. I do not know, okay. I have not met anyone else, yet," he said.

Tears rolled down Aghalya's cheeks. She was upset and heartbroken to learn of her boyfriend's true feelings. It was clear to her that he did not want to go further in their relationship. Her mind has accepted that fact but her stupid heart is still trying hard to catch up.

"Stop crying. I hate when girls cry. You are trying to weaken me with those tears. God, my mother uses tears to coerce my father to do what she wants. But my father and I never listen to her when she cries. It is a pathetic attempt to try and soften us. Stop it," Arun shouts.

His arm shot sideways and slapped Aghalya across the face. Her crying only got worse. "Stop crying. Now. I am taking you home. i can go to the wedding alone. You can stay home and cry all you want," he says and does a U-turn with his car.

Instantly, they are engulfed in bright, white light. The next thing they know, something huge and heavy hits them. As quick as lightning, the car descends down a nearby cliff. Aghalya's and Arun's screaming filled the air. And then, the sreaming died.
