Monster Encyclopedia: Blurak the voracious ogre

The bosque kingdom is well-known for its lush greenery and its expansive fields. But this capital of agriculture and natural tourism is also filled with the great dangers known as monsters.

The forbidden forest in particular plagues the majority of the kingdom creating a large expanse of land with no inhabitants. This forest has claimed many lives and no matter how much the king of the time tried to rid his lands of this plague his attempts begot no results.

Failure after failure the king inevitably gave up on trying to clear the forest of the vicious monsters it held. He labeled entry into it forbidden and many quickly forgot of the threat it possessed. Years passed and the king perished, his son took to the throne with great prospects. Not only that perhaps the heavens themselves were congratulating his ascendance as the harvest that year was expected to be a bountiful one.

Spring came, the new king in power but disaster struck! The looming threat that was the forbidden forest finally bore its fangs.

Out of the thick and dark woods, a pale white ogre of unprecedented strength appeared. It terrorized the farmlands, ate the people, and ate the crops. The voracious ogre left destruction in its wake!

The new king, Adelio, was forced to cancel his banquet and instead led his army into battle. There, just like his late father, his army met a grisly end at the hands of the variant ogre and its unprecedented recovery speed! With his tail between his legs, the king salvaged what he could and hastily retreated.

Adelio was then harshly criticized by the populace and even other nobles who supported another prince. At this point, it seemed as though he would lose his recently earned throne! His outlook on life started to darken, but luckily, adventurers started to come into play during this period.

Adelio formed a plan that he was sure would allow him to bring back his honor.

Adelio made the common populace take the matter into their own hands as the king offered the adventurers a handsome reward to whoever could bring him the head of the oppressor. The adventurers, enticed by riches, challenged the ogre that was still not done with its destruction.

A bitter battle ensued and the adventurers met their demise. Blurak, as the ogre was dubbed, finally saw impairment to his regenerative ability after so many bitter struggles. It was precisely at this time that king Adelio swooped in with his army and claimed the head himself of the fiendish beast.

The people's faith was restored but the damage the kingdom had incurred would not be so easily remedied. The Bosque kingdom suffered from a famine following this disastrous event and the surrounding countries couldn't help but want a piece of the land.

Many battles ensued and heroes rose from among the adventurers, the bosque kingdom was able to maintain its current state. Adventurers now received quests to guard the forest and sometimes even form expeditions with the promise of gaining any recovered land.

But that's a different story.
