It was one of those baby-blue skies, not the psychedelic candy-blue nor the washed out grey so characteristic of wintry mornings. The clouds were as puffs of radiant joy, ready to disperse into the wind, to travel our Earth. I watched them eddy, pure reflected rays dappled and swirling with sky, until all that remained was that perfect baby-blue, the same hue as before, as if inviting those born of wing to ride warm thermal air heaven-bound.
The things that happened between me and Alice were kept a secret. Less conflict, the better, especially when we're talking about the daughter of one of the leading professors of this branch. Mothers know best, and Alice's would probably wage an all out war against Team Plasma once she knew two "goddesses" confronted us yesterday.
We decided to spend a day in a cafe with Virgo who intentionally decided to join us. Her usual self would be reading a book while walking to our destination, however, it was quite different today. She was more energetic, and kept on blabbering about my marble.
"The data! It's nearly complete! It came from the Kalos Region, no doubt!"
"Could it be a mega stone?" wondered Alice timidly.
"Not quite. I don't detect any auras coming from it so it's definitely something different." Virgo replied confidently.
"That's an improvement. Thanks for researching it for me."
"No problem! Who knows? This might be Team Rocket's next super invention! Ever heard of the ongoing secret weapon known as the er... whatchamacallit? Matrix thingy?"
"Never heard." I replied.
Sauntering, we were able to spot a battlefield in the plaza. There were no trainers nearby, and so we thought to spend the day nicely by having a little battle. We never knew today would take unexpected twists. Though the place was teeming with people, not a single one of them played at the battlefield, giving us an opportunity to do so.
"Hey? Why not we have a little battle? It's been a long time since I last battled you, Luna!" challenged Virgo.
"Y-you be--" I was cut off, seeing someone familiar just behind Virgo. Knowing who it was, I immediately ran. My cheeks flushed with pink colors upon seeing Logan.
"Oh, Luna? You're here as well?" said the seemingly distressed Logan who was staring at a tree.
"It's a secret." I giggled. "Why the long face?"
"Lost to Burgh, twice. His bugs bugged me."
I laughed.
"Hey, Luna! Are you going to introduce your how should we put this? Friend from the other side to us?" Virgo interfered.
"Oh right. You must've met Charlotte already, the strict one. These are my other friends, Virgo and Alice."
Hearing her name, Alice turned invisible.
"She's timid." I explained.
"I can see what you mean by that."
"So! Logan, that's your name right? Are you er... You see, my friend over here-" Virgo's naughtiness showed again.
"I never said such thing!"
"I'm kidding. Don't be angry..." she gave an obviously fake shocked expression. "Unless it's true!"
"Humph!"
"Anyway, I'm going to look for trainers to battle with. My Pokemon needs some training every now and then."
"Wait! I know!"
I didn't like where this was heading. Virgo's got her mischievous grin again.
"The three of us were about to take turns battling each other. Now you're here, that makes four. Say? Tag battle? You and Luna against me and Alice!" she taunted.
"Jokes on you! I've battled with him before!" murmured I mixed with a little grumble.
"Battling with Luna? Now that's something I can agree on. I accept the match." Logan exclaimed.
By the other side of the city was Charlotte and Zeal roaming around the place with their shopping bags. They recently did what most women love doing. However, there was usually a smile whenever they left the mall, but Charlotte was a bit gloomy.
"You should let her be, Luna's nineteen already."
"I know, I know, I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just worried. There's something weird about that Logan guy that I can't figure out."
"What are you trying to say? You're overthinking again, Charlotte!"
"No I'm not! Trainers have been an enemy of Team Rocket ever since! They're not fit for Madame Boss's future regime. Logan is one of them. By the way I see it, he's pulling Luna out of the way! You know boys. Once Luna trusts him completely, then she might do foolish things with him."
"Like?" she tried to hold her chuckle.
"I don't know? Leave Team Rocket and marry him?"
"God I hate my mind." Zeal sighed at herself. "Luna ain't like that. She's got the guts to kill her mother, and Logan? Pfft! Her Absol with liberate him from existence. She ain't got a crap for Jenny, so why him?"
"You're probably right. I must be overthinking stuff again. Like you said. Luna's nineteen now. She can handle herself."
"That face, you seem to be doubting yourself."
"No, just trying to force myself to accept it."
"Castelia cones?" Zeal pointed at the ice cream truck.
"Yeah." she said softly."It's been a long time since I last ate a Castelia cone."
"Oh and, let's buy some for Virgo, Alice, and Luna too. Who knows where they are. Hey? Didn't they say they were heading out to a cafe?"
Charlotte clenched her fists, glaring at the farthest corner of the street. Zeal waved her hand in front of Charlotte's face perpetually.
"Low signal? Hello?"
"Why that Luna! Looks like their plans had changed!" Charlotte ferociously pointed at the plaza.
"I'm gonna buy popcorn and drinks just in case. Hey? I warned you." Zeal patted her back.
"Oh that Virgo! I told her to keep Luna out of his sight!"
"You left a person who reads romance novels with such obligation? Well, no wonder it failed. Yeah, it's your decision. In the mean time, I'm gonna get some Castelia cones!"
