Though she had learned never to mingle around and gamble with bikers, Jenny's investigation does not stop there. On the news, she found articles about a recent earthquake in the woodlands far from Slateport. According to the officials, no one was injured not to mention there were only four citizens who experienced it but the landmass of the area was completely different from what it was before. This must be because of the movements of the giant Torterras.
Learning about this, she decided to visit the site herself to further investigate. She also made fake morning reports to submit to the detective only to give way for her family's case. Her real purpose in Hoenn is for investigating the rumors of two criminal organizations lurking within the region but her eagerness to solve her family's mystery made her do this.
She bought another motorcycle and used it to go to the woods wherein she spotted two bruised trainers on the way. Brendan was aiding Wally's leg which had a shard of wood pierced unto it. As a sympathetic person, Jenny decided to help them out.
"No! Don't wipe the wound with a tissue, the infection will worsen." said, Jenny from behind.
"An officer! Thank goodness. I was trying to contact help from other people but no one seemed to answer." said, Brendan as she gave way for Jenny to aid his friend.
"Huh, shouldn't the two of you be in a gym or a city?" Jenny asked while slowing removing the wood pierced unto Wally's leg. Timid but brave Wally is, he was able to handle the pain.
"Yeah but there was this cool laboratory and we decided to check it out when suddenly we saw Team Rocket grunts."
Hearing his words, Jenny exhaled deeply as her hands began to tremble.
"Did any of the grunts had a blue hair?" Jenny tilted her interest to Brendan, earnest to know the answer.
"Yes, she does."
"I- I see, thank you," she replied in a muttering matter as she continued to aid the trainer. Her eyes glimmered with water as she told her conscience, "You never give up Luna don't you?" She now wonders what to prioritize first, me, or her family? Aside from researching about the rumored organizations, she was also tasked to search out for me.
"There you go," said Jenny after aiding Wally. She smiled at him and patted his head.
"Thank you, officer." Wally greeted with timidity.
"Is there by any chance you can tell me where the laboratory is?" Jenny asked.
"You're going to waste your time there officer. The Laboratory was destroyed because of the earthquake. Heh, I bet Team Magma aka "ground freaks" are happy that it happened." replied, Brendan with a bit of sarcasm.
"But you said the two of you had been there right? Is there by any chance you can tell me what the two of you saw?" Jenny inquired.
"Um, nothing much. It belonged to a company or rather an organization from the Galar region and they were experimenting on Pokemon but luckily there were none left except for a group of Torterras. Sigh, sadly we were unable to save them from the earthquake."
Wally added to Brendan's statements, "It had something to do with large Pokemon. That is all I remembered... Oh wait, there was also this illustration hanging above a wall. It seemed more like some weird serums with white liquid."
"White liquid? Then that means the organization that created those serums had a branch here in the Hoenn Region. I see, I must further research more clues." Jenny told herself, thinking hard and connecting all the clues she has so far.
From there, they parted ways. Jenny returned to Slateport while the other two headed straight for Mauville City for their next gym badge. Jenny has achieved another clue today and is now one step closer to finding the mystery of her family. In a world of imposters and criminals, is Team Rocket to be blamed for the death of her father who died in a car crash wherein everyone thought it was an accident, her mother who was shot by a grunt wearing a black uniform with an R symbol, and her sister who she assumed has been killed after being kidnapped by grunts with read uniforms?
The Earth is vast as such as the world of criminals.
