Suddenly, the stalactites swing violently from the ceilings of the cave. Cracks appear from the ground beneath. Fear and panic ensues as the ground shakes up and down, as if the entire cave suddenly falls from the sky and strikes the earth with a mighty impact. All of us scramble up to our feet but we immediately lost balance and were forced to crawl as we try to stand.
If Charlotte was not attracted by the mystic veil then this wouldn't have happened. Meanwhile, Articuno continues to shriek loudly, breaking the nearby ice shards, including his chamber. The mirage of ice, sleeping for more many years, has finally escaped.
This quake stops, giving the perfect opportunity for us to toss the Rocket Balls, and acquiring the mirage for good. However, I am aware that we aren't the only ones after the bird. After the stopping of the quake, Ebony and Emily rise from the ground, rushing to Articuno before us.
On their grasps are their own type of Pokeballs, which I assume is as strong and accurate as our organization's own type of Pokeballs. We have reached the denouement of the race. The five of us jolt towards the mirage, however, with the flap of its wings a cold breeze blows us to the corner.
With persistence and tenacity, the cold breeze is nothing but a small hurdle to us. Even with such power and coldness, the mirage bears no strength to shake off our determination. Articuno is the prime key to determine who or which organization is in the lead over the other.
Virgo jolts, racing against a grunt. She extends her feet, causing the grunt to stumble. Emily counters pushing Virgo's shoulder and surpassing her. She jolts like a lightning bolt, preparing to toss their Pokeball. Charlotte outmatches Emily, pushing her to the side, and taking her lead. She then stumbles after Ebony's push from behind.
The race is up against me and Ebony. It is as if we are running in a track field or something. We both push each other with our elbows, trying to make one of us stumble like vehicles during a racing competition.
"Articuno is ours!" Ebony shouts, pushing me to the left.
"Team Rocket will claim Articuno!? I shout back, pushing her to the left.
Articuno, the finish line is near. Only a few more steps before reaching it. Those who have stumbled such as Virgo, Charlotte, and the other grunts cheer for us until suddenly, the ceiling collapses.
From above, a robotic steampunk Magnezone appears. On top of it, is the controller of the robot, very familiar, very infuriating. The robot descends, giving the match no winner at all. She wears a lab coat, who could it be but the famous professor associated with Matori and Arlo? Professor Violet. Seeing her once again strengthens my anger.
"Ebony, Emily, I will take it from here." Professor Violet, despite seeing me, did not mind to notice my angry face at all. She presses a button from her steampunk Magnezone, causing one of its arms to extend and pinch Articuno.
Just like a real Magnezone, it has the power to emit electric currents throughout its body, and that includes its arm. Seconds later after being pinched, Articuno is electrocuted by the robotic Magnezone's arm.
Professor Violet presses another button, contracting the arm, bringing Articuno closer. She presses a red button and a test tube emerges out of Magnezone's bottom. This is where the professor placed the mirage of ice.
"Times up Luna, Articuno falls under our hands. There is nothing you could do about it." Ebony utters in a pitiful yet sarcastic manner. Even if I heard her words, I cease to notice her.
I speak directly to the professor who escaped my grasps back in my infiltration of the Pokemon Government Council. "You're still alive all this time? I've expected you to be dead by now."
"Oh Luna, long time no see, and... I've heard about Xavier's death, such a pity."
"Because of you, your sister is dead." Charlotte joins the conversation, menacing at the professor.
"I cared not for my sister, even when she was still in the abdomen of our mother. She would always be daddy's little girl. My parents favored her over me and thus, I and Matori would quarrel very often.
We disagreed at each other's opinions, and would sometimes hurt each other at times. Although, hearing about her death was quite shocking for me. There may be rivalry between us, but I've loved her dearly as a sister.
Back in the Pokemon Government Council, the reason why I've escaped is because of my hologram. I was not it the headquarters during that time, only a holographic clone of me. After hearing that the PGC disbanded, I left Kanto and joined the Rebirth Society instead.
I've worked for their leader, even until this point. However, one night, the police officers told me that my sister has died. The news was too much to bear, even if the two of us quarrel. I even mourned for her name, wishing that I could've expressed my love for her more often rather than quarreling.
Well, what can I expect, both grew up at the slums of Viridian, and the people there mostly quarrel, even our mother and father does. I've joined the Society, in order to avenge my sister. It has been a long dream of hers, for a world with tranquility and only through the Society will that be claimed by rebirth. A better world, created by the image of our leader.
Soon, Johto will be no more alongside with those outside the Society, and you will be a part of it." She explains.
"You're organization has killed a friend of ours silently. I've promised to avenge Xavier." Even with hearing her words, I remain vengeful.
"There is no need to fight, we have won. Articuno is ours, and soon, Zapdos and Moltres will be. You stand no chance against the Society for you have no clue how inevitable we are. Johto will be shredded to dust, and a new one will rise. A more peaceful and tranquil Johto, wherein only those who deserve it can live in it." The professor chuckles hysterically as her, the twins, and the rest of their grunts leave by clinging unto the large Magnezone.
The robot flies above, leaving with the mirage of ice. I sworn to end her for good many days ago, this was my opportunity, however, I missed it. Another mission has been brought to failure. And my anger has reached higher than its boiling point. My friends try to comfort me, however, I did not mind them back.
I became snobbish, walking back to the surface and waiting for help to arrive after Charlotte contacted headquarters after the professor's sudden debut. What would the executives think of me? They have high expectations for me, and I've let them down once more.
The race for the mirages continues. With only two left, the pressure and tension is starting to intensify between Team Rocket and the Rebirth Society. Once I see her again, I will spare no chance of missing my opportunity again. I am doing this for not only Team Rocket but Xavier as well.
