I hesitate to move my body since doing so is worthless and pathetic. Now they have tightened their restraints on me, I am left with no choice but to stare at the one-sided window, waiting for something stunning to happen perhaps. With lackluster, I have decided to tilt my head to the clock and figured out that I have been stuck in the same room for almost three hours.
"So, now you know what happens when you mess with the police." The speakers turn on, allowing me to hear what the detective has to say. I respond with ignorance, continuing to stare at the abyss of the window. Inside me is a fiery rage that I want to spew unto the detective's face. He lets off a sigh and cuts off the connection between the speaker and the room.
With the absence of sound, comes Jenny who enters the room in order to have a chat with me. With a smile on her face, she sits parallel to where I am facing. She starts to peak, "I've heard you messed with our detective?"
"Your detective threatened my friends." I murmur, keeping no eye contact at all while staring at the table.
"He did? Or perhaps you lack information about the term "detainment period." Anyways, I did not want this but three months have been added on yours."
"Who cares? I'm done for. Team Rocket is nothing but mere ashes, just like the Council." Again, while staring on the table I murmur. To be honest, Jenny is the last person I was expecting to see.
"Once you're out of prison, the two of us should catch up. You have missed a lot of activities back in the orphanage." Jenny's rambunctious character shows again. I do miss her rambunctious character, and it gives me nostalgia to see it again.
"What was it like?" I query, finally having eye contact with Jenny.
"The orphanage when you were gone? For others, it felt like nothing happened. For me? I'd wish for you to return every night... That's until I found out you're a member of Team Rocket. Seeing you as grunt? I was shocked and at first, I did feel betrayed.
However, on the inside? I felt happy to see you, even if we are friends on opposite sides." Jenny beams with exuberance, causing me to give a soft chuckle.
"Woah."
"What do you mean woah?"
"Nothing. It's been a long time since I saw you giggle like that. Remember the time when we first stargazed together? I wish to do it again someday. You and me, resting on lush grass, glancing at the twilight blanket?" Jenny's exuberance drops our memories with each other played back.
"I remember that," I smirk. For some reason, my eye wanted to shed a tear. A tear-filled with bliss, after remembering all those moments when I was a timid woman.
"Anyways. Are you planning to remove that microchip of yours?"
"No! Without it, my dysphemia will return." I quickly respond.
"Jeez, sorry. Don't tell me you're also emotionally attached to that thing on your nape." Jenny teases and giggles.
For an hour or two, bliss filled the air. With each other, we talked about the fun we had, the memories we made. How I miss the old days, however here I am now, a prisoner of my friend who has succeeded in her goal to become a Pokemon Police.
We are then interrupted by the sounds of alarms. The light above us starts to flicker, emitting a red hue. The speaker then turns on, giving the detective an opportunity to speak.
"All units! All units! We are under attack." The detective warns, alerting Jenny.
She then remains bewildered thinking of a decision. Either she continues to watch and guard me from escaping or proceed outside the room in order to help her fellow officers. The sounds of footsteps also added a pinch of worry to her troubled mind.
"Go! Go! Help them." I encourage.
"What if you escape?"
"I won't. You can trust me." I smirk.
She gives me her trust as she beams out of the room. Me? Nah, these restraints are too hard so escaping is impossible. I guess I have no choice but to wonder who is attacking the Department. Outside, I hear people, calling out moves to their Pokemons. A raid, another raid between the police and another group of people has begun.
Although I feel safe, everything started to change when the wall on my left is wrecked and shattered by a beam of light. Somehow, the scent that comes with the beam of light smells familiar. I know, I've smelled such a thing before as well.
Dust emerges throughout the room, giving me zero visibility. While the dust settles, I feel someone from behind, trying to remove the restraints on my hands by the use of a somewhat laser-like object since that's how it sounds like.
After the settling of the dust, I was left with a stunned look only to see a helicopter outside the gap created by such weaponry. Inside the helicopter, I am shocked to see the same people found in the portrait the detective has shown me hours ago.
"To protect the world from the devastation, to unite all people within our nation! I am Petrel."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love. To extend the reaches to the stars above, Ariana is my name!"
"The name's Proton, Team Rocket blast off to the speed of light."
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight. With all respect, the name's Archer."
The four introduce. Hearing the motto, they have restored my hope to Team Rocket. It seems to me I was right, Team Rocket has not disbanded at all. Behind me, are grunts. So they're the one who released me from my restraints.
"Agent Luna Evergreen! We are the Executives Of Team Rocket! Take my hand, and together, Team Rocket will rise." Petrel, the man with a stylish violet hair shouts due to the loud engine noises emitted by the helicopter. He then extends his hand, giving me an opportunity to come with them.
"Luna! Luna! Don't!" Jenny enters, interrupting me before the moment I place my hand on Petrel's grasp.
"Enough of this, please. Come with me instead." Jenny begs with sincerity, extending her hand to me. I am left with two decisions. Who's hand should I grab? Jenny or Petrel?
"I am sorry Jenny. Just like what have I said before, I cannot stray from the path I chose." I mumble, looking at her face one last time before clinging unto Petrel's grasps.
"Yes! Alright grunts, prepare for departure!" Petrel pulls my body to the helicopter. My decision has left Jenny speechless. She dashes to the helicopter, trying to grab my body however a grunt from behind pushes her further from the vehicle.
With that being said, the other grunts hop unto the vehicle as we leave the vicinity just before the detective arrived. With me and the helicopter gone, Jenny is left with a melancholy heart. She kneels to the ground, with tears falling off, wishing that this was merely a dream.
The detective then enters, covering his face from the wind entering the gap. He then queries, "What happened?"
"Team... Team Rocket. They have risen." Jenny murmurs, clenching her fists unto the shattered pieces of the once stoned-wall.
"Another crisis has officially begun." The detective mumbles then leaves the room with his fists clenched with anger due to the abrupt scenarios. Me? Now that the executives have restored my faith to Team Rocket, only time will tell when and how will Team Rocket rise? Who will be our next enemy?
