With a worried and nervous heart, Charlotte and Xavier make their way back to the tower, despite the strong and harsh downpour.
The wind continues to blow to an eastward direction, thus giving the two of them a cold and brittle sensation. Only their casual attire will serve as their protection against the frosty wind.
"I can't keep up." Charlotte halts and leans on a shabby tree. Her mouth opens widely, gasping for air.
"We have to keep up or else Luna will be in further danger. Who knows what lies deep in the chambers of Viridian City." Xavier encourages, trying earnestly to restore Charlotte's motivation.
For a minute or two, Charlotte sits and calms herself. During these minutes, her lungs were able to circulate oxygen properly again. They now continue their run back to Viridian City.
From what appears to be a drizzle, is now nothing but a harsh downpour, bringing a cold breeze to the region. Everyone and Every Pokemon are left with no choice but to retreat to their houses, shelters, and abodes.
"Where have the two of you been to?" The guard questions but was left with shock after being responded by ignorance. Due to their worry, Charlotte and Xavier no longer have the time to communicate with other people further.
"Um... ok then?" The guard tilts head to the side like a confused puppy. He then scratches the left side of his head.
With heavy breathing, they bear their exhaustion. Now comes the pinnacle of their rush, and that is to confront the stairs of the tower.
Ah, yes. The stairs. The elevator is broken so they have no choice but to take the stairs. what dreads them the most is that this tower has a hundred floors, and Giovanni's room is on the top floor.
"Oh for Arceus's sake! Do you expect me to climb all one hundred floors?!" Charlotte exaggerates.
"Well, what do you want me to do? It's either comfort or Luna! Come on." Without another moment to waste, Xavier grips Charlotte's hand then dashes to the top floor.
It took them almost half an hour just to reach the pinnacle of the tower. They're left with skin and bones after burning all their body fats on the way up the stairs.
On the doors of the boss's room. Xavier knocks in a rambunctious manner and at the meanwhile, Charlotte lays down on the carpet, yearning for oxygen.
"Oh my. Xavier, Charlotte. Is there anything I could do to help?" Arlo opens the door and reveals himself. He queries with a shocked look after seeing their faces.
Both of them entered and tried to explain in front of Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra who appears to be having a meeting with Giovanni.
"Ah I see, so Luna has gone to the forests? Hmm, if that is the case then Sierra, will you please help these two young agents to find Luna?" Giovanni suggests.
"If that is what you wish Boss Giovanni, then I will gladly do so." Sierra bows with respect but then, Arlo suddenly interrupts.
"Boss Giovanni, if I may?"
"Go on, what do you have to say, Arlo?"
"May I be the one to search for Luna. And I also wish to do it alone." Arlo volunteers with a grin. However, Charlotte and Xavier couldn't understand what kind of grin Arlo has.
"Alone?! We want to help out too, Luna is our friend and, therefore, we'll come with you." Charlotte utters her opinion in front of everyone.
"I do not need any assistance-"
"And why is that?" Cliff queries with suspicion.
"Well, I was thinking to put my latest technology to the test, that's why I wanted to do this alone.
You see, the latest model of the Rocket Bike exceeds five hundred meters seconds." Arlo boasts with a slight giggle of arrogance.
"If that's the case, then we'll be your first test subjects." Xavier volunteers and urges Arlo to accept their offer.
"Now clearly, you do not understand what a test subject is." Arlo giggles.
"Now, now. That's enough. Charlotte and Xavier, come with Arlo." Giovanni interrupts and decides the final proposal.
"What?!" Arlo suddenly enrages, with his fists clenched. Due to his actions, Charlotte and Xavier's suspicion towards him accumulated.
"I am the boss, and therefore you will be the one to follow my command. Leave now before Luna leads herself to danger."
Arlo decides to stop complaining and finally accepts Giovanni's decision. Yet, inside of him is frustration and bitterness.
"Huh? This looks like a normal Rocket Motor to me." Outside the gates, Xavier is left with confusion after seeing a regular Rocket Motor.
"Never mind that, it's in a proto-type state anyways. We'll use this bike instead. Now hop in so we can finish this job immediately." Arlo responds in a bitter manner then flips the switches of the motor.
With extra assistance from Arlo, the three of them return to the forest to find me. As for the downpour? It continued to bolster and enrage like a beast as if Kyogre and Groudon are fighting against each other. And as for me? Where could I be?
