"Do you sense something strange?" Charlotte questions as we walk down a corridor.
"Sense something?" I tilt my head to her, questioning her back with an uncertain face.
"Doesn't Team Rocket seem strange nowadays? I mean, look at it. There's a traitor on the loose." Charlotte looks to the hanging lights then exaggerates with bewilderment.
"If what they say is true, that everyone is loyal to Giovanni, then why is there a traitor? Do you think we've made the right decision to join Team Rocket in the first place?" Charlotte rushes in front of me then halts. Her question seems to bother me as well. I respond by twitching my two shoulders.
"Pfft. Just look around you, where are the executives? Why weren't they in the auditorium? Even I haven't seen them!
Also, if you observe carefully, Silver never showed up once right?" Charlotte points out. Her mind seems to be puzzled with the things she has seen and noticed within the organization.
"Silver? Come to think of it, I haven't seen Giovanni's son yet. I wonder how he looks like." I ponder at my mind, imagining how Giovanni's son looks like. Perhaps he has an ebony hair just like his father. Obviously, his father's cunning nature also flows in his vessels.
"Team Rocket seems peculiar nowadays." Charlotte sighs and continues to walk. I follow her lead even if both of us don't know where we're going. To be honest, it was lackluster's fault which led to the two of us walking endlessly around the tower.
Even if Charlotte seems to doubt the organization, I still won't concur with her. Perhaps the executives are in another region and Giovanni's son is with them.
As we walk through the hallway for the thirteenth time, we saw Matori walking strangely, as if she is a rush or hurry. We decided to halt for a moment, to take a glimpse on where Matori is heading to.
Matori's phone rings, so she decides to accept the call. We follow her from behind, eavesdropping their conversation.
"What?" Matori greets with an unusual greeting. She seems to be in her serious and strict nature.
"Vermillion City?! I told you to kill her!" Matori scolds with a very inclined tone. Charlotte and I then made the assumption that she's talking to someone outside the organization.
"She's a wrench! I've had enough of that silly brat. I told you to end her in Viridian Forest yet you fail to do so." Matori yells once more.
"She's the traitor," Charlotte whispers to my ears. She jumps into the conclusion after hearing what Matori said. I, couldn't believe what I've just heard. Clearly, she's talking about me in Viridian City. I am the only female to infiltrate the lab during that time.
Matori then declines the call without greeting the person she's talking to. She seems frustrated for a "secret mission" which failed. In the meantime, I feel furious about the secretary's secret actions.
I should've known. Since the first time we've met she already looks suspicious. The question is, who is she talking to and why? Why does she want to "end" me or perhaps in other words, "kill" me?
Without another moment to lose, me and Charlotte leave the scene and head straight to Giovanni's abode wherein we met Xavier leaning on the wall beside the door of Giovanni's room
"Xavier! Me and Luna knows who the traitor is." Charlotte rushes to him.
"Traitor?" Xavier queries as he shifts his attention from his phone to us.
"Matori, she's the one who told the PGC about our plans," I try my best to convince him yet he seems to deny our statements.
"Impossible. There is no way that the secretary would ever betray the boss. She's very loyal to Giovanni, why would she betray him?
I think you've assumed things by overhearing again." Xavier sighs.
"We're telling the truth, Xavier! You have to believe us." Charlotte's eyes begin to gleam. She utters with sincerity, forcing Xavier to believe us.
"Um, I'm sorry, but I can't concur with your plans. Perhaps if you have evidence, then I'll agree."
No matter how many times we try to persuade him, he never seems to believe us. We debated for more than ten minutes yet he seized to understand the truth. Our attention is suddenly caught after seeing Matori holding Giovanni's afternoon brew.
"Ms. Secretary, these two believe that you've betrayed the boss," Xavier reports sarcastically.
"Me? Why, you're making assumptions." Matori utters with a strange tone as she continues her way to Giovanni's room. She looks at our eyes with her frightening pupils as if she is indignant at us.
Charlotte glares back and mutters to her mind, "Oh just you wait, Giovanni will know about this."
The tension between Matori and Charlotte increases. Me? Well, let's just say I'm somewhere in between. Charlotte could be right and Xavier could be wrong or it could totally be the opposites.
Also, Xavier has a point. Without further evidence, we cannot jump into conclusions. The mystery behind Rocket's traitor continues to flare with Matori as a nominee.
