"The future?"
Naruto nodded. The two looked skeptical. "You'll see soon enough." He promised the two.
The memory started to move again.
"My name is Kakashi Hatake. I have things I like and things I hate. My hobbies . . . I have some. As for dreams for the future . . . hmmm, I never really thought about it." Even those watching sweat-dropped.
"All he really told us was his name." Murmured Sakura. Mini-Naruto nodded.
"Ok, who's next? How about you." He pointed to past Naruto.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki! I like instant ramen in a cup, I really like the ramen Iruka-Sensei got me at Ichiraku. My dislikes are the three minutes you have to wait after you pour the ramen. My hobbies include comparing different types of ramen and rating them based on which ones I like best. My dream . . . is to become the greatest Hokage that surpasses even the Fourth!!" He exclaimed passionately. Again they all sweat-dropped.
"You really like ramen, huh?" Asked Inoichi. "Who's the Fourth?" Questioned the Hokage at the same time.
"Who's the Fourth?" Sarutobi repeated his question.
"Well you'll just have to wait. I will tell you that he was viewed as the strongest Hokage the Leaf had ever seen since the First. He died saving the village." The Sandaime opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by the next memory.
Tiny Naruto was tied to a stump with his two teammates on either side of him eating their lunch.
"Don't worry! I'm a ninja, I don't need to eat! I could go days without food! Weeks, in fact!" He was cut off by his own growling stomach.
Naruto laughed. "This is the day after we were assigned to our team. Kakashi had us take the bell test. The rules were that we had until noon to get the bells, the one who didn't get the bells were to be tied to the stump and went without lunch, then would be sent back to the academy.
"At this time, Kakashi was really strong so it was impossible for any one of us to get them on our own. I fell into every trap he set while trying to get them. When I couldn't I tried to steal a lunch before time was up. Hence the stump." As he explained there were flashes of different things, Tiny Naruto hanging upside down by a rope, Tiny Naruto trying to steal a lunch and Kakashi catching him.
Then there was one were Kakashi was behind the boy with his two fingers pointed at his butt. "Hidden Leaf secret technique: THOUSAND YEARS OF DEATH!!" He shoved them up the boy's ass, sending him flying.
"Uhhh, are you certain that that's Kakashi? Was he . . . switched with someone? Or maybe it's a different Kakashi?" Inquired a very confused Hokage. He tried to fit this laid back, silly Kakashi with the Kakashi he knew, but it was very difficult. Like trying to match two pieces of different puzzles.
"No, that's him. I know people always told me he was different when he was younger, but is it that bad?" He got only silence. ๐๐ฎ๐ฎ, ๐ ๐จ๐ถ๐ฆ๐ด๐ด ๐'๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ท๐ฆ ๐ข ๐ง๐ถ๐ฏ ๐ต๐ช๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐จ๐ฆ๐ต๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ข๐ค๐ฒ๐ถ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ช-๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ด๐ฉ๐ช, ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐?
Then, it was back to Little Naruto tied to the stump
"Hn." Sasuke suddenly stuck his food in Naruto's face as an invitation to have some.
"Really, Sasuke, you mean it?" Tiny Naruto sounded hopeful.
"Kakashi said it himself. If we are to get the bells, we have to do it together and you being hungry will make you weak and ultimately only bring the team down." Explained the Uchiha factually.
"So, that's Sasuke. You said he was the reincarnate of Indra?" Inoichi asked. Naruto nodded unable to speak as he looked at his dead friends face. He would give anything for just a minute with his old friend.
"Sasuke's right." Stated the pink-haired girl that had been called Sakura, and they began to feed Tiny Naruto.
Suddenly, in a swirl of leaves, their sensei stood glaring down at them. "What did I tell you?" He demanded. Sakura looked terrified while both Naruto and Sasuke glared at the man.
"You said we needed to work as a team. How will we do that if one of us is weak and starving?" Demanded Sasuke unexpectedly. I mean this is coming from the guy that got an F in cooperation at the academy.
"Alright, then I have no choice." He stood big and tall, looking all intimidating to the three genin. "YOU . . . pass." His deadly aura fell away and was replaced by a friendly smile.
"Uhh . . . what?" Sakura was not expecting that.
"I said; you pass. In the ninja world those who break the rule are scum - that's true. But those who would abandon even one of fhis comrades are worse than scum." The three cheered happily. Or rather the two, Sasuke only smiled a bit, but coming from an Uchiha that was a lot of emotion. His face would probably be sore later from all the excitement on his face.
"Okay. What happened to him? Kakashi would never break the rules. Like ever." Both of the men looked rather freaked out. Naruto only shrugged as the next image appeared. It was of him dressed in black, a color of mourning.
"This will take some explaining." The image paused for him. "A few months after we were assigned to Team Seven with Kakashi-Sensei, we were entered in the chuunin exams which were being held in the Leaf. During the exams there was a rouge ninja - I'm sure you know him, Orochimaru - who planed- a attack on the village with help from the Sand. The Sand had a jinchuuriki named Gaara and while I fought him, Orochimaru was back in the village fighting you." He pointed to the Hokage. "He won but you didn't die in vain. Before you bled out you sealed his arms so he couldn't perform anymore jutsu and was forced to retreat. You really did save the village Lord Hokage." Naruto looked heavily remorseful as he explained this. As if his death had somehow been his own fault.
The Third was not sure how to react to this information. Would Orochimaru really do that? Would he really kill him? Maybe Naruto was lying, but what reason would he have for that?
"Try not to worry too much. I am here to prevent all these things from happening. I won't let you die again." In his voice was the determination of a man who had lost everything once and wouldn't let that happen again.
The next memory was of him and a big man with flowing white hair that almost reached the ground, and a woman who had her blonde hair in pig-tails and was wearing a green jacket.
"Are those Jiraiya and Tsunade?" Asked the Hokage.
"Yep. Jiraiya was my master. Tsunade was the Fifth Hokage." Replied Naruto. He looked at them, especially Jiraiya, with such pain and longing in his eyes, they made the two men look away. They knew what that gaze meant. The pair meant a lot to him, and they had died.
This time when the memory changed it was a familiar scene. Tiny Naruto was standing on the head of a statue of Hashirama Senju in the Final Valley. Sasuke stood on the head of the other statue of Madara Uchiha across the roaring waterfall.
"This is a fitting place for our fight don't you think? The Final Valley." Sasuke had to yell rather loudly to be heard over the water.
"Come back with me, Sasuke. This isn't you. Come back to the village with me. We can get stronger together, you don't need Orochimaru. We can defeat Itachi together." Little Naruto begged.
"Itachi? Like Itachi Uchiha? Fugaku's son?" Asked Inoichi wondering what the adorable little boy had done to deserve being killed.
"Yeah." Naruto confirmed. "Itachi slaughtered the entire Uchiha clan, except Sasuke. Sasuke was his little brother, the one thing Itachi loved more than even his village."
"Why would he do that?" The Hokage sounded deeply disturbed at the thought of the strongest clan in the Leaf being wiped out by one of their own.
"He was ordered to by a village leaders. The Uchiha were planning a coup d'รฉtat and time was running out, the leaders ordered him to do so on behalf of the village's safety. Itachi's loyalty always laid with the village, he would do anything for it. Well, anything except kill his brother. Sasuke didn't know any of this so he grew up hating Itachi for what he had done. His hatred and craving for revenge darkened his heart."
"Who would order something as gruesome as the extermination of an entire clan?" The Hokage voiced.
"Danzo did, and you as well."
